  • If it's not from Telltale then I wouldn't trust it.

No one knows yet. Telltale hasn't released any release estimates at all for The Walking Dead: Season Three, not even a release year.

Once they do, you'll hear it on this blog, on the Telltale website, or on the Telltale twitter or Facebook page. Don't trust anything you hear on other websites, unless it's an interview with a direct quote from a Telltale staff member.

  • TT better have two seasons (or more^^) released in 2015, should they really go about this GoT c.rap (which is milking the mainstream TV-Cow via a merchandised game) I will POSITIVELY never ever buy anything that has telltale in its name!!!!!! whereas I will most likely fill the gaps in between seasons with back to the future or so, IF S3-X will be announced anytime soon....
    Deal? Deal!

read the books, which are all but one (the first) not the best read, tbh. they´re total bollocks from there on - not mentioning the series itself, which is even worse than the books...booooooring...oh yeah...insert character name here eventually dies...not...SURPRISE...wait, not dead...uhm...or is (s)he...

GoT heavily relies on two things: nudity and violence...yeah...that´s what mainstream lowlife likes to see - stereotypes...
I don´t wanna see that nonsense being favoured instead of a really good game series developed further -
in fact, TWD made it into my personal all time top ten in an instant and I started playing games on a C-64, so I do take the liberty of saying I can tell a good game from a bad one almost in an instant, same goes for TV series...dumped my TV 3 years ago due to utter BS being broadcasted 24/7

seriously TT, do not screw this up!

tbh, I think no one at TT will be that stupid - I think the dates are either made up or messed up

    http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2014/08/25/the-walking-dead-game-season-3-release-date.htm

take your time TT - but ffs, not 12+ months...I can hardly wait 12 weeks...
saved up S2E5 until now..."now" most likely being tomorrow ;)

    I´m like that robot...number five...need input

In the IGN interview, Telltale said to expect news in 2015, but wouldn't reveal the release date. That doesn't necessarily mean it won't come in 2015, just that it's too early to start making release date announcements.

If it does come in 2015, it's likely it will be a bit of a ways out (it will release after the current seasons end, definitely, which if they're going for an every other month release like they did with TWD S2 and TWAU, Game of Thrones likely won't conclude until next summer). So, if The Walking Dead Season Three does release in 2015, the first episode will likely release towards the end of the year like the release of the first episode of Season Two.

  • Dude, just stop. Game of Thrones is much more than just nudity and violence, and if you read the books properly you would know that. Just because you're upset that Walking Dead S3 isn't coming till late 2015 or early 2016 doesn't give you the right to hate on things you clearly know nothing about.

If you can't handle the fact that Telltale NEEDS to grow with games outside of the Walking Dead and that those games could potentially do better, do everyone a favor and leave like you were threatening to do.

  • Late 2015 or Early 2016, no surprise. I hope Telltale keeps the priority on Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands for most of 2015.

  • The article is faker than Kim K.

Don't trust anything unless it's posted from any Telltale Games social-media accounts, interviews or Con Announcements.

I'm going to stop you there.

Although I agree with everything you have said so far, this isn't one of them. I think GoT and Tales from the Borderlands won't succeed past The Walking Dead. The franchise is way too huge, and if you type in "top games" on Google, this will appear.

Right near the big leagues. GoT however might come a close second since it's so popular.

  • I don't believe them, I think late 2015 is more likely although the fact that GoT will have 6 episodes instead of 5 might delay a little bit season 3.Now what I wonder is what other game will be released at the same time as TWD S3 assuming by the time it is released both borderlands and GoT are over. We had TWAU during TWD S2 but will they renew it for a second season ?

But Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones are only one episode in. When they are done, they could potentially be a bigger success than Walking Dead. I have a feeling/hope Game of Thrones will either be more successful/just as successful as Walking Dead and they move on to make it a multiple season series.

Even Wolf Among Us has gained fame that Walking Dead hasn't (no surprise, its a great game). It's being voted for numerous categories in IGN's Game of Year (alongside Walking Dead s2). Wolf Among Us though was nominated for major categories Walking Dead S2 hasn't. Like Overall Game of the Year and Best PC Game.

Walking Dead is certainly what put Telltale on the map but it certainly shouldn't/won't be what keeps them there. There's only so much you can do with a genre before its time to move on, and franchises like Game of Thrones give that opportunity to Telltale.

  • Wait for offical intel about The Walking Dead. Don't be looking on other domains unless it's directly relative with Telltalegames studios.

Well, that's why I said GoT might come to a close second. I wasn't basing it on just the one episode. But however, Tales might not really be that popular.

Well, like TWDG, it as the comics behind it also. And plus, Telltale seemed to put a lot more effort into TWAU than TWDG S2.

Agreed, I fully agree. But I just don't think GoT will surpass TWD, even if they keep on continuing the GoT franchise when the TWD franchise is put to rest (Which won't be any time soon). It's just my opinion, though. I might be wrong.

Steamcharts numbers prove that Season 1 and Season 2 did much better on release than GoT on release.

I cannot find Tales' numbers because for some reason it's not on steamcharts but steamdb shows that it is doing very very poorly on average daily players compared to GoT

That means they want to give TWAU a chance

won't happen bud, TWD has triple the viewers of GoT

  • Well, I'm not suprised. They released Borderlands and Game of Thrones at the same time as TWAU and TWD (only years are different) so I think that they will be done with it by the autumn of 2015. In any case that means that season 3 will be released either by the end of 2015 or early 2016.

Its too early to tell for gods sake. Game of Thrones does has the potential, we just need to wait and see how the rest of the episodes go.

Show means nothing really. How many times have you seen viewers on the forums who haven't seen The Walking Dead show? If GoT does well, it will draw in Telltale fans who haven't seen the show and also draw in Game of Thrones show fans who have never played a Telltale game before.

This is my problem with The Walking Dead community. You feel the need to protect yourselves against something that doesn't need protecting. I'm not stating Walking Dead is a bad game and Telltale should forget it, I'm saying that they have other games that have potential to be a bigger success than it, and they should take advantage of it.

Nobody is trying to defend TWD just because. I'm just showing numbers and in cases like this numbers are always right. This is my problem with the Telltale community. It feels like no one knows anything about anything.

Right, then explain how some of the most active threads in the past couple of weeks have been ones about the show?

The game gained its immense popularity on release because of the show and comic's popularity.

Numbers need to develop before they can mean anything. It's been a week since the release date, like I've said.

Well, I can agree with you there. Half of the community does while the other half doesn't. The half that does just gets tired of dealing with the half that doesn't.
