    • Saves Clementine from a walker within the 10 milliseconds he knows her
    • After being weary about it, he's on Clementine's side when she wakes up
    • Brings her food
    • Heads the group up North for their safety and also where we eventually find Kenny, Sarita, etc.
    • Walks for days without food, water or sleep to save the group from Carver's camp
    • Does the smart thing and instead of punching Carver, he DISARMS him from his gun so he doesn't shoot up the goddamn place
    • Helps Rebecca constantly
    • Tells Carlos to chill because he's scaring Sarah
    • Mostly thinks of the group first (Besides the time he banged Jane, but he gives so much and he never gets anything in return)
    • Determinately saves Clementine again in the lake
    • Saves Clementine at the lake by persuading her to cover him instead of risking her life

Luke has done so much for that group, and it kills me to see that people shrug it off. I can understand the attachment to Nick since he's such a relatable character, but other than that and determinately saving Clementine in Episode 2, what does he really do?

I got more attached to Nick than to Luke the first time i played. Luke is really inconsistant. What does he do really apart from being the ''good guy'' and his funny lines and puns?

  • Jane - "Sex. Sex. Sex. Sex. Sex. Sex. Sex. Sex. Sex."

lol. I kinda liked how Luke and Jane formed a connection just through having sex. It kinda reminds me of how Glenn and Maggie got together. You can tell they developed feelings for one another, after the fact.

  • So I actually took my time to skim through it and

I ended up connecting better with characters like Nick and Rebecca who started out as major assholes

I think I can see the resemblance.

  • every character needs a "discount X" name

i think it is the best candidate for luke

    1. Carver: Discount Governor
    2. Kenny: Discount Carver
    3. Nick: Discount Kenny (which is weird because I love Nick and barely tolerate Kenny)
    4. Ben: Discount Shaggy (Scooby Doo)
    5. Stranger: Discount James Woods (particularly how he is portrayed in Family Guy)

That's all I've got off the top of my head

Ill give you that one, he also dropped her tho.

After being weary about it, he's on Clementine's side when she wakes up

Like OP stated, hypocresy or most likely inconsistant.

    Brings her food

Its the least he could do after locking her up in a shed and dropping her no?

Heads the group up North for their safety and also where we eventually find Kenny, Sarita, etc.

Not Lukes doing. It was the entire group.

Walks for days without food, water or sleep to save the group from Carver's camp

He also got caught and almost got Kenny severely injured. He didnt save anyone.

Does the smart thing and instead of punching Carver, he DISARMS him from his gun so he doesn't shoot up the goddamn place

You cant disarm someone if he is pointing the gun at you, Luke could disarm him after Clem either jumped on top of his back making him walk towards Kenny to get punched in the jaw and lose his balance just to Luke take off his gun. Again not Luke doing much, just teamwork.

    Helps Rebecca constantly

How? Having sex when the babies about to be born? Everyone helped Rebecca at some point.

Tells Carlos to chill because he's scaring Sarah

    Okay?...

Mostly thinks of the group first (Besides the time he banged Jane, but he gives so much and he never gets anything in return)

''Maybe we will have talkin about leaving some folks behind'' What a consistent and caring character!

    Serious question...
Do you actually "like" Luke or do you just like the idea of him?
Because like I said in my post, my hatred has formed after multiple plays of the game.
When I first played my brain was like "Oh wow look at this cutie coming to my rescue, there's a big chance I'm going to flutter over him".

But Telltale never emphasised upon that, they just sort of let his character be there and be justified for taking Clem's side outside the cabin. Which like I said before, second time playing I realised the hypocrisy in that dialogue.

If you like Luke because you think he is genuinely a well written and productive character then unfortunately I can't agree with you on that.
If you like him because he is a hunky dude and you like to look at him on screen then okay, I see your point. But that doesn't make a good character in my books...

  • Yeah not even going to disagree with that. But if that's the best defence you can pull from this for your boy Luke then, well, thanks for supporting my argument.

So I actually took my time to skim through it and I ended up connecting better with characters like Nick and Rebecca who started out as major assholes I think I can see the resemblance.

As someone who´s male and isn´t into males I couldn´t care less about this.

I genuinely like him because of his personality. He just clicked with me. I´m not going to say that he´s the best written character with the best development in the world because I´m not blind, there´s a lot more they could have done with him. But it doesn´t take away that I enjoyed the interactions I was allowed to have with him.

WHAT CRITICAL POINTS OH WOW THEY'RE SO ACCURATE OH MY GOD I'VE BEEN BLIND THIS WHOLE TIME ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED

  • Ill give you that one, he also dropped her tho.

Well, she was bitten. I'm sure everyone would do that.

Like OP stated, hypocresy or most likely inconsistant

How was that hypocrisy or inconsistency? It was a change of heart.

Its the least he could do after locking her up in a shed and dropping her no?

It wasn't his choice to lock her in the shed, but he reluctantly went on with it for the safety of THE GROUP.

Not Lukes doing. It was the entire group.

Let me rephrase that; Leads* the entire group North.

He also got caught and almost got Kenny severely injured. He didnt save anyone.

Are you serious? He got caught trying to get some food, I'll admit. But he did not get Kenny severely injured. That was Kenny's choice to say "Heh, fucker." And Kenny even AGREED to the plan to get a radio to Luke. Did you also see that Kenny's plan backfired and it ended up getting Carlos and Sarita dead?

You cant disarm someone if he is pointing the gun at you, Luke could disarm him after Clem either jumped on top of his back making him walk towards Kenny to get punched in the jaw and lose his balance just to Luke take off his gun. Again not Luke doing much, just teamwork.

    Alt text

Are you fucking kidding me? Did you actually think I meant disarm him before Clementine jumped on him? If he hadn't disarmed Carver, no one else would. Even considering that Carver stumbled towards Luke. Luke stopped Carver from pulling the trigger and unleashing a shit ton of bullets that would have gotten Clementine OR Kenny.

''Maybe we will have talkin about leaving some folks behind'' What a consistent and caring character!

That's funny, really. To be honest, I hate the shit out of Jane. But even if she said that, I couldn't agree with her more. One life isn't as valuable than a whole group. And knowing Kenny, he'd most likely find a way out anyway. The group wouldn't just run off without him, they'd most likely wait at Parker's Run for him like they did for the rest of the group.

    Sure.

Don't 'sure' me. That's true. That's completely true.

Thats because most of the things he does are laughable. He is inconsistant, all he is is a bunch of funny lines and puns. I am not sure where to stand.

He's been inconsistent about once or twice, but so has just about everyone. The things he does is not laughable. If you call saving Clementine's life laughable, then I guess Nick's actions are laughable too. And Kenny's,and just about the rest of the people who saved Clementine's life. Like Lee. Lee was pretty laughable, huh?

About Nick he doesnt do much because the writters didnt allow him i guess?

Oh, I see. Double standards. The reason why Nick is like that because of the writers. The reason why Luke is like that is because he's a shitty character. You really don't know where you stand, huh?

But I can't pull any other defense because what you're saying is biased, completely unrealistic and ungrounded, and bullshit. Go ahead and bring up valid points instead of your stupid one-sided arguments.

Yeah not even going to disagree with that. But if that's the best defence you can pull from this for your boy Luke then, well, thanks for supporting my argument.

  • Oh my god, get over yourself.

I didn't hate on Luke with completely unjustified and biased arguments unlike you. None of your hater comments even try to contradict mine.

    Both.

Same, and then once we got to know his character, my love for the character went beyond.

Ribs broken, shot through legs. Luke couldn't have if he tried. Your argument is also invalid; Loki is a god/ demigod. Ot course that wouldn't kill Loki.

At least that didn't kill Loki. Luke drowned in a lake because he couldn't get his foot out... Why couldn't he have just lied on his stomach and penguin pulled outta there? 0_0

  • I'll admit that the lake thing with the zombie was for my own satisfaction.
But everything I said has reason behind it. That's why I made this post in the first place.
Just because you're a die hard Luke fan, it doesn't make his character better.
What I'm saying in my post is a mix of realistic disappointment shaped from a character that Telltale wrote as a flawed character.
Yes, this can be said about a lot of their characters but I feel it stood out the most in Luke.
Someone mentioned on this post that he was just a bunch of puns and jokes, which I'll admit when he said "I'll catch you if you fall, probably", It made me laugh.

Then that was it... nothing else stood out for me. He was just there to make jokes and be mad and critical of others.
But Telltale tried to disguise that with a "nice" persona and ended up making Luke inconsistent.

If Telltale came out with a statement that says "Oh yeah fans, by the way, Luke has bipolar" then his character would somewhat make sense to me.

But in saying that you can't just claim that he had a mental condition, because although he was inconsistent he didn't act like someone with that condition would.

It was clear Sarah had Asperger's/Autism.
It was clear Nick had depression.
It was clear that Carver was a psychopath.
It was clear that Kenny was a broken man.

It wasn't clear who Luke was because Telltale wasn't clear in his characterisation.

But if that's the best defence you can pull from this Mine aren't PG, sorry. But I can't pull any other defense because what you'
