What I noticed is how Kirkman talks about restrictions, how what they do won't affect the comic series, and how the game advanced Clementine's age and how they are getting closer to the comic storyline.
This just proves my point that the game cannot go further than the comic storyline, so anyone saying that Clem is going to be an adult in Season 3, I'm sorry, but it's not going to happen, the oldest she could be is 13.
Nice Playing Dead. Only one where I didn't want to gouge Greg Miller's eyes out.
Like @MetallicaRules said, this Playing Dead answers some questions that people have been having about S3. One thing is that they are very very early in development, only writing the story. You hear him say "right now they're just sending me... and asking what I think..." and so on. It also confirmed that S3 is probably gonna take place right after the events of S2 with a minor timeskip (if Clem is PC)

While I agree that 13 is quite capable, especially since she already handles herself well at 11, I don't really agree with Carl becoming the next main protagonist. The writers of the show are definitely going in the direction of having him become a contributing member of the group (teaching Gabriel that he needs to be able to defend himself), but he's not going to replace Rick.

Kirkman after Season 1 Episode 5
"I think those guys are wimps"
Kirkman after Season 2 Episode 5
"I said early on the purpose of the walking dead is to make people cry"
What a hypocrite
75% of what he says is sarcasm or jokes, i don't think we should be taking him calling people wimps seriously
well actually maybe we should
or maybe not
or maybe yes
yeah that really caught my ears, or eyes? whatever the fuck, it was like straight up like, ohh they need to check with me so they wont mess with the comics story. so thats why i never thought that clem would be like 16 and shit. but also one thing that really got me too, it was that kirkman said that they sending him story ideas already. now im a bit surprise that they already starting. i mean i know TT keeps shit under wraps, but i guess since they did said we can expect news in 2015. hopefully they are working on concept art and show it soon..

So now we have the confirmation that Telltale have already started working on S3! I keep hoping that we'll get it in late 2015. It also seems like Clem will still be in the story if not the playable character because at one moment Kirkman says that he and Telltale are now trying to find a way to make what they're planning for S3 work and stay in line with the comics chronology. This wouldn't be a problem if they wanted to start all over from the beginning of the ZA with a new cast of characters.
It's probably someone like Breckon who has been asking him. Breckon seems to be exclusively for The Walking Dead and doesn't seem to have a part in any other Telltale projects (I haven't seen his name on TWAU, TFTBL, or GOT). So while people like Shorette, Darin, Stirpe, and others are busy with other games, Breckon is probably working and thinking about TWD S3 already. And since he is also in constant contact with Sean Vanaman, I can imagine that he has run some ideas by him too.

They said something about a new angle, so it could be just that; new cast of characters and Clem shows up at some point with A.J. I'm actually curious if they will do as you say and go back to day one to when the zombie outbreak first happened to work as a prologue type thing if we do get introduced to new faces.
But, it makes me question also too on how far are they going to go and how many seasons there will be for the game. The time frame currently is the limited to when Clem would be 13, so will the TWDG just reach a point where Clem's story will be done and over with, and they'll just reset and do a new perspective that doesn't introduce any of the old cast at all?

I have a feeling that season 3 will be the end of Clem's story unless by that time the comics move forward and Telltale are able to follow her story when she's older, but that's unlikely. Unless they make her become a side character in season 3, I actually wouldn't mind that as long as she stays in the story.

You literally haven't seen any game footage or heard anything about it yet and its already a waste of season just because they are using Clementine. Wow, if you hate the game that much don't play it. Like it or not Lee is no longer the protagonist.

i hope it is breckon, despite what the negative asses and trolls say of him. and youre right i havent seen his name in other projects. and also i do hope he does pass the stories through Vanaman.

I agree, some people don't like him (and I get that) but I love his style of writing, I really do and I hope he will be involved in Season 3 and that he is the main guy writing it like he was in Season 2. The only thing he really needs to do is make sure the other writers are in the loop more, that they know everything that is going on, not just a general idea of what is going on.

I like the comic book Carl he is somewhat cool. But, I hate the tv show Carl, he annoys the hell out of me and is my least favorite character(this comes from someone who loves the show)

Wow, I thought we wouldn't get another one of these
Same here lol. Subscribe to IGN on Tweeter and Youtube to get the latest updates
Niiice.
I'd rather not after "7.8 -Too Much Water" but I could see why someone would want to

"I just went to the bathroom"
"..."
Thrilling interview
Also, I agree with Greg Miller, I want Dave Fennoy as Ezekiel. Please AMC, make it happen.
13 is a good age to make her more capable. Carl right now is 13 and it's slowly shifting to make him the main protagonist.

Kirkman already said that Rick can die and Carl will carry the books.
So Apparently Season 3 will be less depressing

13...?
Ohh god no, we need a new protagonist then, IMO anyway... im sorry I carnt endure another series of a young clem again...
I need a stiff drink!
I wouldn't count on it.
Interesting episode. I knew that he wouldn't say anything about season 3. Oh well. At least we got GoT and Tales in the meantime.
10/10 interview - ign
Your statement and the franchise you're talking about doesn't mix.
T.V Carl is ok so far. Pre-timeskip Comic Carl was a total shitbag of a character but I'm starting to like the new Carl.
Well I'm sorry to hear that, but that will probably be the direction that Telltale will go in, having Clem come back as PC and slightly older.

That would suck and would be a waste of a season.

Yeah like Toe fungus >_>` the guy is awful.
I hope they go with a new protagonist, but I got a bad feeling it will be Clementine as protagonist again. She is much better as a Deuteragonist.
