Anyone want a Carver DLC?
As you can tell from my name I was a BIG fan of Carver in Season 2, if only for his portrayal and not his actual personality. He's by far the best villain The Walking Dead, if not the whole of Telltale, has ever produced. However, my only complaint about him is that we don't know anything about him- who he used to be, whether he was always a monster, how he got into a relationship with Rebecca and so on so forth. Therefore, I'd really like to see Telltale make a DLC devoted to Carver, and maybe at the end they could throw in the 400 Days characters meeting him for the first time.
His character is one of the best Telltale have ever made, and I think it'd be a shame if they left us in the dark about him. Sure, when he was alive not knowing who he was only enhanced his role as a villain and made him more of a shady bad guy who, since we didn't know him, was also unpredictable. However, now that he's dead (sadly) I'd like some back story on him.

Michael Madsen is not a cheap actor so I'll doubt it, plus they're busy with a minecraft game now too, I doubt if we even get a S2 dlc with so many projects going on.
Dont say the M word
A Dlc for the most bland boring and generic villian of all time? Nahhhhh
They're making WHAT?!? An "M" game??? Oh my god, that's the worst news I've ever heard!
I'm so confused
By M game I meant Minecraft XD
Nvm ignore this Im really stupid, sorry ;3
No problem XD
Your comment got eaten, but yeah that was me miss reading, sorry ;3
Hell yes, a prequel DLC. Carver is the type of character who simply needs the backstory. However, DLC shouldn't be focused only on him, but also contain stories about Cabin Group's past. How they all met, how they joined the community, who was George, and maybe we could even see Nick's mum.
Anyway, Id like a carver dlc. I still feel like they should make a Dlc like 400 days with different stories but prequels with people we know. So I'd love a Carver 1 with the Cabin group trying to escape. Who knows, maybe a super Carver origin Story from Day 1 until he leads howes
Yes I would love a Carver DLC. I would also love to see how the camp started out, Luke and Carver's division on running the camp, and how he became the man we see in S2.
Yes! I want a Carver DLC!
That's not a bad idea actually. I agree with that suggestion.
Yea. I want see a DLC like that, because then we'd also get to see the cabin group, 400 days people and Reggie. I'm also interested how he and Rebecca had a relationship, since I struggle to understand how that even happened.
I just want to know who George is...
Shut up and take my money. I know people have there's no need for a prequel on characters that are dead, but I still think it's got potential to do something with it. It would be great just to clear up that backstory with Carver's camp and its character, but also just to see them all again like some final farewell kinda thing.
And yes, aside from finding out who George is, I'd love to see Nick's mom, even if she has a temper like Nick XD
No, dude's dead. What's the end game? "Oh, so that's what happened."? BOO! Frankly, it'd be kinda sad, resurrecting the cabin group. With still nothing to be done involving their deaths. Also, it'd render your choices unimportant, seeing how we know everyone's personality. Also, to all those who want it just because of George or Nick's mom. Alvin killed George, and Nick's mom got bit. How much further do we need divulge?
Carver was a very interesting character with wasted potential and a bad portrayal in ep.3. If they can capture what was good about him in a DLC, I would buy it with no second thoughts.
Then again, a prequel DLC is pointless AF.
Further than this.
Count me out.
Agreed.
Outlast got a prequel DLC called Whistleblower and it was damn good! o.o
I'd like to play as Tavia. That way you get to see the circumstances behind Rebecca's first escape and see Carver in a less evil light.
We kind of did play as Tavia in the past during the final part of the 400 Days DLC by convincing those survivors to follow Tavia to Carver's community, not sure if TTG plans to repeat player characters or have a new player character each time (not even sure if were replaying as Clem again). But I did enjoy how it turned out to be kind of a twisted mistake at the time. Because little did we know that by trying to get all of that 400 group to come with Tavia. That would only add to Clem and friends roster of enemies/antagonists. Almost everyone that got convinced into following Tavia transformed into some sort of jerk when Clem finally met each of them in their cameo appearances. Bonnie turned out to be the worst of them all by being a lying backstabber repeatedly. Only wish the other 400 Days cast received just as much development as Bonnie did.
Outlast was a decent game though
They could always make a complex DLC, containing, for example, two different parts. Only one of them would be focused on previous events, second describing the fate of 400 Days Characters after Carver's death (900 Days - Vince, Russell, Shel & Becca, Wyatt and Tavia).
And it's not like the prequel DLC wouldn't matter, because all of them characters are dead. DLC doesn't mean an expansion pack to the main game, it could serve as a opportunity to complete the missing storyline with the decision not of great importance, but revealing many interesting details, in the form of enjoyment.
I think it was even slightly better than the game itself. :>
But this is exactly what I was talking about. DLC as a form of discovery of what has happened before, how it happened and why. Like an interactive movie, not a boring one, because there is no need to make Cabin Group or Carver playable, but to create a character involved in the story and give him a chance to interact with them all, perhaps someone from Carver's community.
Or for exaple, 400 Days Characters when they first arrived at Howe's (prequel form) and many days after, when the place was taken over by the walkers (present form).
At this point any DLC would be good.
That was my point - we've already played as Tavia, and it'd be a nice callback if we could play as her again in the next DLC. She and Bonnie are the only 400 Days characters who end up at Howe's no matter what, and from her perspective we can see the cabin crew and Carver interact without risking the idea of making Carver act out of character (imagine playing 'nice' as Carver.)
Besides, her character wasn't expanded on much in Season 2 but I got the sense that she wasn't as 'evil' as Troy or Carver was. I'd like to know more about why she's so cold to the prisoners while still being basically friendly with the other members.
but... i want a flappy carver...
May I enquire what you mean by Flappy Carver? Whatever it is, it sounds hilarious
True. That part of season 2 really confused me, especially the fact that Alvin killed him. Got no idea what all that was about.
Like your 900 Days suggestion, though it would be unrealistic if all the 400 Days characters survived- maybe you could have two or three original 400 Days characters (eg; Vince, Shell and Becca), and then add one or two other new characters who also survived the herd. It be good if, in a 400 sequel, they separated Shell and Becca- that'd be pretty interesting.
It would be a cool call back. Tavia might have been cold to the inmates just to stay on o.k. terms with Carver. A DLC could expand on this as you say. But TTG might have us play as someone we haven't played before that could still get in the "middle of things" to be able to witness these characters interactions/origins. Say Nick's Mom just for example, not only would she be a new player character, but we'd get to kill two or three birds with one stone by knowing exactly how things went down with Nick's mother getting bitten and the Cabin group/Carver confrontation.. As Tell-Tale seems to delight in their streak of constantly bringing forth a brand new player character in each game's season or DLC.
I'd love to play as Clem once more but I feel that notion is looking quite bleak (surely Clem could make a cameo appearance in season 3 at the very least I hope). I say season 2 needs a couple DLC episodes.. With one focusing on Carver, Cabin group, and 400 Days characters at the Howe's settlement. While the other DLC focuses more on Christa and Clementine's mysteriously strained relationship over the course of that enormous 16 month time-skip (this would open the door for playing as Christa interacting with Clementine post Omid-death or they include what happened before Omid's death since Christa was obviously pregnant for a good several months after she was last seen in season 1. In other words, its undeniable that there is not a shortage of interesting ideas for a Season 2 DLC. The jackpot question is... will Tell-Tale release it?
Many details indicatied that George's death changed Carver, and he was much worse after this happened. I think it's safe to say George was somehow close to Bill.
Was this George guy close to Rebecca too (I think I recall him saying something about them being close, but that could be completely wrong)? And when Carver was beating Alvin up/kills Alvin is that all in revenge for what happened to George or because he wants Rebecca for himself? I'd really like some sort of DLC to clear all this up now- and why did Alvin kill George, and if so does that make Alvin and the cabin group the bad guys (depending on who George was)? Really confuses me
I don't think there's one clear explanation of George' case, but we kinda discussed it here - you're more than welcome to bump this thread up if you're interested - when we've noticed that George's death affected and changed Carver, and made it another reason to hunt CG down. Carver implies by himself that Alvin killed the guy because he didn't like Bill, and Alvin doesn't deny a single word. I personally think George was Bill's friend or even a member of his family.
There are so many holes in this story, and that why we need it cleared up. Proper backstories for Carver and Cabin Group are all I'm asking.
Thanks for sharing that, very useful. Don't quite agree with you about Christa, but I'd never noticed all that stuff about Carver. Well observed!
The M word is prohibited from the Walking Dead discussions.
There should never be a DLC about dead characters. Never.
