How will Telltale handle the seven multiple endings?

edited December 2014 in The Walking Dead

If we play as Clementine in S3, which is extremely likely, how exactly is that going to work? As far as I know there are seven endings:

  • Kill Kenny, leave with Jane, let family in
  • Kill Kenny, leave with Jane, make family leave
  • Kill Kenny, leave Jane and take AJ
  • Let Jane Die, leave Kenny and take AJ
  • Let Jane Die, leave with Kenny, enter Wellington with AJ (best ending in my opinion)
  • Let Jane Die, leave with Kenny, leave Wellington with Kenny and AJ
  • Let Jane Die, Kill Kenny, leave alone with AJ

How exactly do you think Telltale will pull this off? I really hope Kenny and Jane aren't killed off instantly if they were alive at the end of the season in their respective endings. I doubt they's make seven separate Season 3's, so do you think there will be seven different versions of S3E1 that will end the same way/in the same place? What do you think? Comment down below!

Probably with another timeskip where Clementine ends up in the same place no matter what.

In my playthrough, Kenny and Jane are already dead so if they actually don't timeskip I wonder what will happen.

  • honestly i can write a bunch of ideas that think would be cool and shti, but idk. first of all nothing is confrimed, we dont know if clem is gonna be the protagonist. But i guess that what has me interested in the next season, the possibilities that they can do, and hope they can do good with them. and honestly i hope they dont cop out and just try to tie the shit all together in one episode with some crap time skip. you want to skip some time to tie the shit together fine, but they should more than likely do it after the first episode. but if they go that route dont let jane or kenny die at least until 3 episodes

  • I doubt anyone will care, because by the time it is released we will all have kids, mortgages and high cholesterol.

  • And hearing aids. Don't forget hearing aids.

And I'll probably still be in love with Luke by then. High possibility of that happening.

  • And I'm a recurring star on the show.

By then Luke will be robotized. Then we will have Dr. Phil Episodes about human's dating Robots.

  • Arguably eight, with leave with Jane, let Jane make the decision about the family.

  • Hopefully they will handle it well

  • I think that there will either be a DLC or the first few minutes of the first episode while focus on each of the different endings. I think all of them will lead to Wellignton and Kenny/Jane will die no matter what...... Sadly.

  • There are at least two ways to go about this since Clementine is pretty much guaranteed to be in Season 3, assuming that she's the protagonist still:

    1. Telltale will work hard to make all endings with different openings that will eventually intertwine together by the end of Episode 1 or the start of Episode 2 as eventually all endings will lead to one goal, though not necessarily right away.

    2. Telltale will cheat their way out by ensuring that a time-skip after the intro scene, showing Clementine and Kenny/Jane is in a camp somewhere, monologing over what happened between them for a few minutes before moving on to a new goal.

I'm probably pessimistic, but I have a feeling that Telltale will end up choosing the second choice to cut down on production/cost/time investment.

  • with so many endings its ridiculous that there are so few save slots.

  • ...what?
