Late arrival of The Walking Dead: Season 3
Minecraft: Story mode
Since telltalegames has announced that they're creating a new game called: "Minecraft: Story mode", The Walking Dead: Season 3 release date will surely be extended...
My opinion about Minecraft: Story mode
The need to make a story based game of a sandbox game is totaly unnecessary and it's a waste of time. They should instead work on sequels of greater titles instead of accepting new projects which concept is not good to start off with. Game of thrones and Borderlands are great concepts to be told in a story based game. Minecraft; A sandbox game that mainly consists of kids, should NOT be made a telltale game of.

They released TWD S2 and TWAU around the same time and they are releasing GOT and TFTB at the same time...can't Minecraft and TWD S3 be the same?
I'm not gonna judge Minecraft just yet but I'm not very interested in it.
I seriously doubt this will delay TWD, it'll probably release along with TWD.
I don't know... But they did said that TWDS3 is not comming this year, and that's it. I think it will be delayed by a lot, especialy if they're accepting more projects.
I think it'll be in early 2016 - mid 2016.
The creators of minecraft have demands, this game must look "minecrafy" and it will be immature... So expect HORRIBLE graphics, bad gameplay, and dialogues with cinematics and "realistic" environment effects. that's probably it. Characters are gonna look ugly as hell, just like in meincraft.
No I did not. but I'm just stating that they were being vague about the release date, a little strange perhaps. (they knew in which year they would be done with it, but they didn't wanted to announce it)
A hint that they have other projects to do first, and that they won't be able to get the game done in 2015.
You really expected TWD to come out this year? :P You must not know Telltale all that much then.
My comment just disapeared... anyway.
No I am not.
the rest was a very long message that i'm not interested in repeating it.
They haven't said that from what I've seen or heard, do you have a source? If it was that panel at Playstation they were ambiguous so as to not get people's hopes up.
"Not this year" something among these lines, they did said it on a panel.
and yes they were being ambiguous, I do realise that.
That's everything I wan't them to confirm.
Walking Dead and Minecraft will be the next two games after GoT and Borderlands finish. So, I reckon they'll come at any point from the mid - end of 2015.
They're in pre-production, so . . . they'll only move to full production after the current series finish.
In other words, there will be no delay for TWD.
A hint that they have other projects to do first, and that they won't be able to get the game done in 2015.
They're always vague about their release dates, hell if anything they said we're getting news in 2015. That's more than they usually give us if I know it correctly, it's only been about 4 months since season 2 ended, keep in mind season 2 came 13 months after season 1 ended. I'm pretty sure everything is on the right track.
In the "Info Quest II" release thing, choosing one of the options will cause the mojangsta to say this:
"Apart from Borderlands 2, The Stanley Parable, a bunch of cool indie games, and all the illegal games, people don't get used to our assets. Telltale Games are an exception. This thing won't look exactly like Minecraft, but it will feel authentic in its own special way. Keen crafters won't be disappointed."
It'll be the same as every other recent Telltale game, are you saying those have bad gameplay?
I'm not too concerned about graphics but it's the setting itself that doesn't really appeal to me. I'm gonna watch a playthrough of the first episode before deciding what I want to do. I mean, it is Telltale...only reason I'm gonna consider it; their games are amazing.
They will be working on both minecraft and TWD, not first TWD and then minecraft.
You could speak of no delay if this was all planned all along, then of course: It was ment to be like this.
Well yes, but spending all the time on TWD (and none at minecraft) means a earlier release date. obviously.
So that would mean not in 2014, right?
With bad gameplay I mean that the genre won't fit in with the usual gameplay style of TTG.
More afraid that this means no Wolf Among Us Season 2
I'm sure the two games will be released at the same time just like they are doing with GoT and Borderlands. Plus Kirkman already pretty much confirmed that Telltale were already working on season 3 and discussing plot ideas. I still think that season 3 will be released during fall 2015 or worst case scenario during winter. So what concerns me the most is not the game being potentially delayed but it being rushed and not having enough effort put into it because of their teams working on other projects simultaneously.
What do you mean? We'll most likely be doing QTE's and a puzzle or two if they decide to do that. Or do you mean turning Minecraft into a Point & Click? If they managed to do that with Borderlands, a popular FPS, I believe they can do it with an open world sandbox game.
Ah, I see. You want them to work on TWD only, rather than Minecraft (or anything but Minecraft).
Even if Minecraft wasn't being made, they would in all likelihood be making two games at the same time as they did with TWD S2 and Wolf. And as they are now doing with GoT and Borderlands.
So no, no delay. Keep your fingers crossed and TWD might have its episode released first.
PS: I should have read your original post properly, as I would have known it was pointless replying. I suppose we're going to get Minecraft slagging threads/posts in every game's forum now. Or at least ones that aren't being worked on.
Minecraft is a open world, sandbox game where you build blocks out of thin air, fight monsters and other players. How could this possibly be exciting when converted to a telltale game?
and point & click is managable with any game..
I've never played or have had any interest in Minecraft. I know it's very popular but to me, it's just stupid!
I wish Telltale wasn't making a game based on it and rather them focus more attention on TWD, but I do understand as a video game company and with the popularity of Minecraft, it could be good for them. They just wont get a cent from me for this and I wouldn't even get it if it was free.
That's just me though!
Yes, it took place quite a long time ago and they stated in a obvious manner: "That would be not this year", which is obvious, the time gap between season 1 and 2 were big too, there's no way it could've been done this year.
They surely won't be working on Minecraft: story mode, The Walking Dead AND Wolf Among Us at the same time.
Exactly, so it could work well as a Telltale game. You already have a variety of weapons and doing QTEs would fit well especially when either fighting or dodging a monster.
Honestly, we can't judge this game right now, I'd wait for the first trailer to arrive before saying "This will be terrible".
I love TTG, don't get me wrong, and it's 100% possible to turn this game into a TTG game. I'm just saying that I won't be interested in it at all. It's just not my thing.
OK then, so I'm not understanding why you're saying this will delay the game or cause a late arrival. We were all expecting it late 2015 or early 2016 already anyhow.
Might be later.
I don't think it will be in 2015, I do hope so though.
Alright, that's fine. But would you be willing to see whether or not it'll be any good, check a playthrough or read reviews when it comes out?
I think out of this whole Minecraft ordeal, my favorite phrase for this came out of it, from a Youtube comment no less:
"That's the kind of attitude I like, 'I think it will suck, but damn it, prove me wrong."
Exactly.
I would surely watch a gameplay video about it when it has been released.
But i'm not buying.
I seriously doubt it's going to be extended.
The Walking Dead is the biggest thing they've done, they don't want to disappoint fans any more than they have with Season 2.
I never played minecraft, but I knew lots of six year olds who did, doens't seem like the kind of gritty game that TellTale would be good at making. IT just seems like a money grab to me and I hate that shit. I haven't watched one second of the the Hobbit since they announced it was gonna be a trilogy, I don't like money grabs.
Who cares if I don't think that I will like Minecraft I won't get it.
I don't understand how people can play minecraft its the worst game I have seen in my life.
Don't know about delaying Season 3, but it definitely is delaying TWAU S2....if it happens at all
