Fables 148 predictions
Bit of a wait for the next issue, January 21st, so what do we think/know will happen next... We know that Rose will find out the truth about her Mother Lauda and why one must kill the other between her and Snow; but what else is there?
- Brandish and Lancelot must continue duelling until one of them dies, I feel that Bigby might show up and kill either Brandish (rip him to pieces/eat him!) or both of them.
- Grimble is still on a quest for something (I think he is looking for Brandish's missing heart so that he can be killed properly)
- Geppetto is planning something for Haven/The Farm (has Willingham forgotten about this?)
- The Mundies that saw Fabletown seem to have been forgotten about as well...
- What will the Last Story be? It was originally meant to be Beauty and the Beast's, but that was in Fables 147; so will Jack's Last Story be in 148 or will it be a different Last Story??
- What is Snow doing while all this is going on?
What do we think ppl!?

I think it will just explain the whole Snow V Rose already. Honestly 147 was just filler because nothing happened at all
Gosh......Going through your list, it makes me realise that there are so many things remaining yet unresolved. I've always tried to have faith that since Willingham is the writer, he's not gonna leave any stones unturned, but as we are getting closer and closer to the last couple of issues, I am getting tad bit worried (even though the last issue is 150 pages long, will it be enough?)
As for #148, well I kinda have a feeling Lancelot will get killed by Brandish. Have no idea what Grimble and Geppetto will be doing.
Well, they only would have couple of characters left that can be applied for "Last Story...."
And sigh......I was a bit saddened when Beast didn't appear in the last story of #147. That means he remains dead..........
Just feed this issue to my goat
Because it was a 'filler' issue where nothing new happened except finding out that Beauty and Bliss will live poor lives in the future?
I am just as worried as you. I mean, there are only three issues left, how can Willingham give resolution to Geppetto's scheme and other plot points?
Also, regarding Jack's ending, didn't Willingham write his ending back in Jack of Fables? From the reception I have seen in Amazon, it wasn't well received. (Also, I like to know the ending of Jack of Fables, since no one gave me a clear detail about that)
Obviously we'll be finding out the complete origins of Rose and Snow's mother, and her dark secrets (Unless those dark secrets were that she had to kill all of her sisters. TBH I don't understand why that's even a thing, and why it should be something that is passed down generations. I suppose it has to do with fates, such as those handed out by Lady Lake.)
I completely agree with the Grimble thing you said, and as for the first thing about Lance and Brandish being killed by Bigby, that also makes tons of sense.
I'm not sure if Willingham forgot about Gepetto's scheming, however I believe it'll be adressed by the end of the series, probably in the 150 page volume OR he might even use it in Fairest's last issue next month.
I figure Fabletown doesn't even care about what the mundies think right now, there may have been dillusions sent out by the witches behind the scenes, or it'll simply be dealt with later on.
They've done A LOT of shifting of the minor stories, it's probably last minute things and whether we actually see what they promised or not is up to them, really. I don't particularly care what they do, because I've enjoyed the stories they HAVE included enough to be okay with the changing around.
I think Snow is just planning and waiting and stuff. The October 'Defy Covers' issue showed that she hired Cindy to attempt and assassination of Frau. Whether or not that goes through, again, is up to Willingham. I was severely uncomfortable with that request by Snow, I honestly thought she wouldn't let this 'You must kill your sister' thing get to her head. She seemed like she didn't care about anyone else's opinion anyway, though it may be the increasing tensions that are causing her actions. Plus, Rose almost killed Bigby, and I'm sure that wasn't the best thing to do. I don't know, all I worry about is whether Snow will die in the end. I really hope it ends up where Rose dies, but even after being shown their past and her options, I have no idea what will happen. It's all in the air, at this point, and I'm super eager to get my hands on the next three issues to see what will happen in the end.
EMMYPESS I'm sorry to say that your Rapunzel theory of Rose and Snow being her lost daughters was wrong, but I'm clinging on to my theory that Goldilock's is one of her lost daughters. Maybe Rapunzel will get an unexpected Last Story!
Fairest 33 will focus on Goldilock's apparently and will be written by Willingham, though one source I've read called it a 'one shot' so it's probably just a final goodbye to the Fables fan-equivalent of Bloody Mary.
Remember that the 'Defy' cover pointed out those events take place a week after the events in that issue, so it will probably come about either next issue or in issue 149; now as much as I KNOW that Snow can make rational decisions, I feel that Bigby will be her go-to person for what to do.
When I re-read Volume 20 last week, I noticed how Winter points out that Snow clearly wants to sink into depression and despair from losing her husband and Darien, but she stays strong in public for the kids. When Winter see's Snow in the war room (sometime after Bigby's death) she is mourning him and praying that he'll give Snow a sign that he is still out there.
Then in Fables issue something when Maddy tells Snow that Bigby is alive; all Snow wants to do is talk to him in spite of his feral nature and the fact he has killed 3 Fables already; Snow obviously wants Bigby back (hell, we ALL want Bigby back) and in spite of his actions.
I find that strangely sweet; tbh Snow probably has the same seeing powers as Rose and planned on killing Spratt herself at some point... now that's something to consider
I haven't read Jack of Fables Volumes 7-9 yet (I have all the spin-offs of Fables, I really should get down to reading them...) But according to CoolGuyJ; Jack gets killed by his son Jack Frost at the end of Volume 9, Jack is then reduced to a spirit that forever walks the Earth (not sure if ppl can still see him though)
This is when Willingham releases a surprise announcement that issue 150 won't be the last issue after all cuz he has too much story left... (if only)
Bump. 8 days to go before it gets released!
