Not sure this has been discussed (Story Branching)
What would be brilliant would be if Telltale made "Story Branching". Having several different ways to play the whole game, like every single choice you make will change the entire game. Maybe there could be 3 different outcomes in one scene like you have a choice of 3 people to save and saving each one creates a new path for the story.
I always thought what if Lee (SPOILERS) went with Lilly in Season 1 (if you took her in the RV)? With story branching, by going with her would change the whole game. Lee would be with Lilly (and Clem too), and we would see how the story progresses not ever knowing what became of Kenny, Katjaa, Duck etc. The reason Telltale won't ever do this is because the amount of work to do that would be intense, it would be like creating 2 or 3 different games at once but it would be something i would absolutely love if it happened, it would give us the opportunity to play the game hundreds of times to see all the different choices each story tells.
Thoughts?

We all want this, but it would be far too much work for a company like Telltale to do this since you're creating so many story lines. Simply having different outcomes is still seen as exciting for a lot of people in gaming, so entire branching story lines are a long way away.
I agree!
I'm thinking poor Telltale, aren't they an indie company? But I get what your are saying. I'm not sure if any video game has done that on such a grand scale, but some have tried to do something like that The Witcher series comes to mind. If an idea like this would be pulled off there would be some serious replay value to this game and more people discussing about.
yeah but since season 2 has alot of nultiple endings, hows that gonna work in season 3...
If Telltale didn't do their episodic model where they publish an episode every 1 and a half to 2 months then I think they could do it, but creating branching paths in such a short amount amount of time without shortening the length is probably nigh on impossible and it would add quite a workload, some people have said even making a text adventure with multiple paths that make sense to one another is difficult (by making sense I mean if you chose one thing people react accordingly/events make sense without creating an entirely new story like in those old choose your own adventure books).
They'll end up tying it all up together.
Really? Is Telltale indie?
Yes
Yes, they aren't Triple A.
5 (45-60 minute) episodes in 1 wouldnt be too bad tbh, choices would still matter. and they could just stretch it to every 3-3 1/2 months per episode. if someones tired of waiting they could play the other 4 stories they missed out on
Hmph.
How did I miss this.
Well a lot of people aren't aware of their past, I mean earlier I believe you didn't know that Telltale created 3 seasons of Sam & Max and a Monkey Island game, I believe you mentioned that in one of those Mine craft threads as the thread described them as "kids games".
Oh, I know they created games prior to The Walking Dead. I just never really acknowledged them, or even acknowledged that Telltale made THREE SEASONS of Sam & Max. But I didn't really know that they used to make kids games. Apparently they did, but I'm not sure if Sam & Max and Monkey Island are kids games or not. I haven't tried them.
They're pretty good, a lot more puzzles, and the puzzles are much more difficult than TWD's simplistic puzzles. Kids can play those games, but there is quite a bit of adult humor/references. The stories are interesting and often get insane very quickly. Honestly it was worth the 13 or so bucks to buy every season of Sam & Max while they were on sale in my opinion.
Thanks for the info.
I'm ready to wait more for every Season if they make choices matter a bit more. Change of the scale you're talking about would be too much to ask.
To be honest since TellTale decides to changed the speculation of Luke VS Kenny and turned it into Jane VS Kenny, I'm starting to have a feeling that they're going to change the story allot from that change and even if they do tie up the story I think changes will still be signified.
It is difficult. The only way those Choose your own Adventure books could do what they did and offer between 12 - 40 endings is because many of the paths ended with your death and they were short. I'm not sure how long the main paths in them were either, but I'd bet it's not a long read.
Also, the stories weren't exactly the type you'd find in The Walking Dead.
That would be cool but it would be too much work for telltale.
