Will Clementine Play Well With Others?

  • TellTale presents DOG STREET SIEGE!

    Oh God xD

  • Yeah but that doesn't mean members of the community haven't gone through the same or worse hardships. We literally know nothing about Wellington and the only person whose from Wellington that we have met is Edith who seems nice enough but that doesn't mean she hasn't gone through harshness and severity.

Seeing that Clementine is will be their newest survivor, that means that she been outside the walls longer than anyone in the community, mea

  • Determinately she does. My Clemmy said she didn't like school I think, then Kenny said it was a waste of money, so my Clem wouldn't have it. No school for Clem unless Lee is her teacher, that's that. :p

She tells Luke that she would like to go to College one day.

No matter how "badass" you guys say Clem has become, she is still a kid. She has just matured, she can easily still be sweet (don't know why people ignore her sweet moments in S2 and just easily label her as "badass") , maturing doesn't mean you have lost yourself.

I'm with Kenny as well high fives

But you know what bothers me, no matter what ending you get all hell will break loose. You went to Wellington? Well fuck you heres the downfall you're on you're own again. You went with Jane? Well shit she's on the death list maybe we can sav- oh no shes dead. You're with Kenny? Ay he seems like a nice guy this should be peaceful- shit killed. You're on your own? Well shit you got the easy ending never mind heres a herd of walkers and oh look is that Christa- whoops dead. No matter what I'm sure Telltale will make season 3 great but this still kinda pisses me off. :3

I don't have to worry about that because I'm with Kenny. But in all seriousness, this is a very interesting topic because we've seen how

  • Until we see it, we cannot base or judge what Season 3 is going to be like. It may turn out like that, or maybe they find a way to make the endings have an impact and keep Kenny/Jane alive for a good amount of time.

  • You think bratty, stupid kids would have survived 2 years into a zombie apocalypse? I'd assume natural selection, in all its rotten, flesh-eating glory, would have taken most of them out by now.

I can imagine Clem being their babysitter

Kid: I hate this shitty town! The people here are boring and I want to live outside the wall!!!

Clem: OK kid go ahead and have fun while it last...

Kid: Thanks Clementine you're the best babysitter!

    [12 hours later]

Adults: Where the fuck is Billie?!

Clem: Taught him a lesson in life. You don't leave the wall unless you want to be walker fodder.

[drops Billie's zombie head on the ground]

Clem: Now give this head to all of the brats that you call "your children". They will now what happens if they leave the wall

    Adult: Dafuq

Clem: Have you ever heard? Life is a learning experiance...

  • I pray for that to happen, I think telltale will find a way to make the game amazing anyways :p

  • I highly doubt Clem would let people bully her. She's not the same girl she was in S1.

But yes, if the kids in Wellington behave like... well, kids, I'd imagine she'd stand out somewhat.

  • How was Sarah bratty or stupid?

    Sarah survived two years.

  • agreed

I wouldn't know how to react if that Big-headed Bastard complimented my hat either. Fuck Gil

  • After two year in the Apocalypse, she still doesn't true know of the world around her. She doesn't know how to use a gun;Her actions gets people killed ( Reggie and Sarita).

I don't know. Maybe, just stupid and naive.

  • Well first you have to consider that she is female and she has a different mind set.

To be honest, the only reason that Carl is as cold as he is because most of the kids in his group were brutally murdered or he killed himself. Maybe, it was more like he didn't what to make any friends that he will lose.

With Clementine, she doesn't encounter kids her age at all. My Clementine haves a great friendship with Sarah,Taking pictures, and helped with the Christmas decorations.

She'll probably just pretend to be happy like she always does. Maybe, act somewhat like Sophia when she came to Alexandria.

all of this is pretty much explored with carl in the comic when they first get to alexandria carl does not get along with any of the kids there at all and he doesn't act like a kid anymore either i would assume clem may be the same

  • She doesn't seem very scared of walkers when she sees them and I highly doubt she hasn't seen Carlos have to kill a walker. She doesn't know how to use a gun because no one taught her, Carlos restricted her from learning how to defend herself, in fact she's smart for asking Clementine how to use gun while Carlos isn't around. Reggie was killed by Carver in no means did Sarah's actions kill Reggie, in fact it was his own fault for not supervising Sarah and Clementine as intended, she doesn't get Sarita killed, she interfered on her account and in the process caused a walker to bite her and in fact Clementine determinantly gets Sarita killed. Besides, getting people killed and not knowing how to use a gun doesn't make someone bratty or stupid, everyone has killed someone indirectly or directly, Sarah may have played her part in causing Reggie and Sarita's death but they played their part in their own deaths as well as Clementine and Carver.

  • Sarah had post traumatic stress disorder, she couldn't help it. So she survived well until she got it and everything became weird for her.

  • It's weird that Clem doesn't have a disorder similar like Rick. In the comics, Rick talks into this disconnect phone and brings it everywhere in his travels, to communicate with ghost Lori.

I can imagine Clem with this kind of disorder with her walkie-talkie. I would make for great dialog and would give us greater inside what life was like for her before the outbreak, if it is her parents on the phone. Maybe we can get more Lee time. Also, a walkie talkie can just make for a badass prop for Clem to wear.

  • Clementine had to mature faster because she became an orphan at 8 yrs. old. She's had parental figures throughout the outbreak, but there's gotta be a sense of self reliance. Every adult Clem has known is no longer around. Ultimately she has only herself.Clem's alive because she's not afraid to take on the challenges her new world presents to her. As we see often, other children don't last very long because they're too reliant on others for saftey.

  • She wasn't surviving very well. Carlos thought he was protecting Sarah by shielding her, but that was her undoing. As soon as Carlos kicked the bucket she goes into a psychosis. Sarah is someone you want to try and save because she's a good person, but someone like her is really a burden to the group. There's no time to help someone cope with a mental breakdown when you have minutes to escape.

  • She already had PTSD when Clementine met her, she was surviving well before she got it. It acted up when Carlos passed, she forgot he died. That's why if you decide to talk to her if you save her she says "When my dad gets back we should all go back to the cabin, its safe there." she got PTSD a little after the apocalypse started. (As confirmed by TT) so it flares up and that's why Carlo's protected her. Before she got it she survived well. :p

  • TT may have confirmed that she got PTSD after the the apocalypse, but she was only "survuving well" b/c Carlos essentially had her living in a fantasy world...otherwise she wouldn't be doing so well and would cease to function....that doesn't really sound like somone who's living too well to me

  • She would be the odd one out because of her maturity level. I doubt that playing is something she does/can do anymore. Doubt she'd get abused for it thought. And if they did, she's strongest, tougher and more ruthless than the average person her age.

  • I don't think Clementine will play with other kids, for a while anyway like you said for a certain few reasons. 1. She is probably going through depression of what just happened, she had to watch her friend die then leave her second father figure to try and keep safe, 2. The last person she played in a friendly kids manner was Duck and they hardly played or if they did it was off screen.. I doubt that Clem will be able to play with other people because she'll be more focused on trying to protect AJ than going off and playing with other kids..

With you saying that she will be an easy target for bullys I believe that's true, she won't be as interactive and she won't take anything for granted unlike little spoiled kids will and say "ugh this food is disgusting" she will be grateful because that's how she she was brought up in the ZA. Inhope that Clementine doesn't get bullied in wellington but there might be a chance that she will because of her shyness/not being a rich cunt in the ZA

  • Technically she was her babysitter! When all the adults leave to find Pete/Nick, Carlos asks Clem if she can look after Sarah while they're gone

  • Yeah, because of Clem's maturity and what she's had to endure, essentially being left to raise herself...Lee, Christa and Omid protected her, but they still weren't her parents. And in the beginning of episode 2 of season 2, Carlos does try and say that Clem is too young to go with look to check out the bridge...no one has that...familial seniority over her. They are almost forced to treat her like an equal. Well, if the kids her age aren't like her, she's going to have a hard time relating to them...and she might have a problem fitting in with teenagers because they could feel threatened by her confidence ability. There could be no drama if everyone could just work together, but someone's always going to be bustin her balls

  • I think it'd be a mix of people in Wellington, those that have been there from the beginning when Wellington was first set up as a camp and those that traveled there like how Clem and Kenny did. So from that, you'd have people there who would have gone through a different levels of experiences. Yet there's less a chance of Clem relating to many kids her age because most would've died getting exposed to what she has, and it's luck that she's even still alive.

So it's not say Clem won't ever makes friend, just that it would be hard to, and more likely she'd get along easier with the adults than most kids her own age.

  • How would one take Clem's story serious?

Clem: I kicked down a door; I was shot; I single handedly killed a dog; I did electrician work, babysat a whole group of full grown adults, and survived nine days alone(determinant)

  • Yes, I'm not saying Sarah's behavior is her fault per se; Carlos is very much to blame. I told Carlos that Sarah has to grow up sometime. But he also says that if she knew how the world really was that she would "cease to function." I think that implies that Sarah's behavior was more in her nature more than just a result of PTSD or any anxiety disorders. As someone else said, I think Sarah is a cautionary tale to show what can and will happen if you don't adapt.

You do realize that Carlos sheltered her from the real world and didn't teach her how to protect herself.

  • Also, almost everyone could be diagnosed with PTSD in the walking dead. Take Lilly's behavior when she shoots Carley/Doug. The Stranger in season one did what he did because of the trauma of losing his wife and daughter. Kenny in season 1 after losing his family and in season 2 after losing Sarita and when he thinks Aj is dead. Even Carver's behavior could be explained by PTSD. A lot of people's irrational behavior could be explained thru the lens of PTSD. But it's easier to feel compassion for Sarah because she was good natured and kind hearted. It's survival of the fittest in the Walking Dead and that include mental toughness just as much, if not more than physical toughness.
