Walking Dead companion TV series:

So recently I heard that the Walking Dead show was getting a spinoff/companion series. It's gonna be called "Cobalt" and will take place in Los Angeles.

Info on the main characters were released, and other stuff. I'm taking it right from this site so check it out for yourself if you wanna see more: http://comicbook.com/2014/12/28/the-walking-dead-companion-series-everything-we-know-so-far/

  1. SEAN CABRERA | A Latino male in his early 40s, Sean is a good man trying to do right by everyone in his life.
  2. CODY CABRERA | Sean’s whip-smart and rebellious teenage son. Known as the angriest kid in town.
  3. NANCY TOMPKINS | A thirtysomething single mom to two kids, Nancy looks like the girl next door, but there’s an edge to her.
  4. NICK TOMPKINS | Nancy’s screwed up teenage son. He’s too old to stay home, too scared to flee.
  5. ASHLEY TOMPKINS | Nancy’s mostly level-headed teenage daughter. Her ambition is in direct proportion to her older brother’s failures. She loves her mom but it’s time to get out of Dodge.
  6. ANDREA CHAPMAN | A somewhat wilted flower child, fortysomething Andrea — yep, another Andrea! — has retreated to the outskirts of the city to recover after a horrible marriage

So what do you guys think about this companion series? Do you think it will be a flop or good?

  • It'll be great.. I heard the name "Cobalt" was possibly just temporary. It may change.

  • Do you think it will be a flop or good?

It is TWD, so my money's on the latter. But yeah, interesting, sounding characters. Could be really good.

    Thanks for the info.

  • It sounds pretty interesting.

  • Its nice to have a full re run

  • I think it's going to pretty good, you can never have enough of TWD.

  • Sean sounds like the most dull character ever by his description.

  • I like the sound of each character already lol they each seem unique.

  • " Sean is a good man trying to do right by everyone in his life." sounds unique to you?

  • The main character in pretty much every show is boring and plain. There never going to die, there always gonna be around and tend to be the moral or good person, I tend to rarely have any investment in them. Its why I prefer stories where there isnt an essential main character.

  • Yeah I don't see many good people in the apocalypse anymore.

  • Rick was utterly boring for 2 seasons, I'm talking about how protagonists start, many get more interesting after a while but the whole purpose of them initially is to ground the story for the viewer to get into the show. Plus the walking dead usually suceeds in having a better supporting cast.

The vast majority of video game and film protagonists are straight white males. A disproportionate amount.

Having more racial diversity is a good thing.

  • You mean the man who killed 4 walkers with his bare hands and nearly bet a guy to death and ended up killing a zombified Bob for his sister, Sasha?

What about the pussy uhhh I mean Tyreese.

  • He should have killed Martin but he didn't.....

  • It's good to see some characters that still have some decency and humanity.

  • Kim Dickens is set to star. She's a pretty big name for this. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it.

  • I agree with you. People are different. Not everyone has to be super bad ass all the time. That's certainly not reflective of real life.

  • Rick was never boring to me. He was pretty much the audience adjusting to circumstances that everyone else was already accustomed to.

Which is stupid, because race, gender, age, or sexuality does not make a character more interesting or better.

Unless it's an alien or robot. But those are a different story.

  • Why are they making its so much like the original? I mean main character with a teenage son? Cmon atleast make it a daughter...

  • That scene was funny. Rick actually saw her but thought it was just his hallucinations agian :DD

  • i heard that nick does drugs.

  • Indeed, I just dislike the fact that allot of people tend to think that people who don't kill are cowards or liabilities.
