Luke died a bullshit death and Telltale should be ashamed for killing off an awesome character in such a silly way. In other words, there should've been an option where he actually gets to survive.
Luke is awesome. Also I was watching this show and for some reason I thought of... You know.
Sorry about the mouse and stuff, I'm still a nub at gif making.

Luke will be remembered to me:) Hopefully to Clem too, although I think since she knew him for about a week she might forget about him:( Well, he did save her life (if you help him) so maybe she will remember him for that!
No, it isn't. I wish there was a couple of months time skip at some point. Maybe at Howe's it would have made sense because we end up trusting Mike, Bonnie and Jane after a day of knowing them.
There's nothing I would like more than for that to happen but unfortunately, he's going to have to be more than real lucky to get out of tha… moret lake.
A man saved a duck that drowned after falling through some ice recently, he literally pulled the little guy out the water after breaking the ice and gave him mouth-to-mouth. I'm dead serious it happened.
http://www.express.co.uk/news/weird/547289/Hero-man-throws-frozen-lake-save-duck-trapped-ice
Luke just needs a bearded shirtless dude to come save him XD
By the way, can this guy be the protagonist for Season 3 please? I don't know what it is really, but I can't help but find him strangely attractive...or maybe that's just because he drowned a few minutes ago and looks a little confused at why the bearded human is bearing his teeth but not eating him.
It's best just not to think about it. It hurts my brain trying to figure out the reasoning behind a group of adults walking across a frozen lake just because the Russian kid said so. Somebody said maybe it might be one of those rivers that just have one area of it that's really wide, well then if that's the case then why not just walk to the narrowest point and cross from there? It's not like they were in a hurry and no walkers were there. Seriously, what the hell!? WHY ARE YOU ON THE ICE!?
How come Luke doesn't have the common sense to spread his weight out?
How come Bonnie has no common sense that walking on thin ice will make it break?
How come that hole in the ice acted like a vacuum when they would've just right back up doing the doggy paddle?
How come when Arvo falls through the ice, Kenny doesn't fallen in trying to get him out?
How come Jane stresses about not going over to help Luke saying it's too late, but is A-ok fishing Clemmy out?
How come Kenny and Mike just stand there doing nothing like their brains switched off?
How come Bonnie can climb out onto the ice when that's an impossible thing to do!?
Why is this part of the episode so stupid?
Why is Clementine surrounded by stupid people!?
Ow!
Oh god, b-brain freeze! [collapses] not again...x_x
How come Luke doesn't have the common sense to spread his weight out?
Because he didn't grow up in icy conditions.
How come Bonnie has no common sense that walking on thin ice will make it break?
Because she was blinded by love.
How come that hole in the ice acted like a vacuum when they would've just right back up doing the doggy paddle?
Because Telltale don't live in icy conditions so they don't know how ice and water works.
How come when Arvo falls through the ice, Kenny doesn't fallen in trying to get him out?
Because Kenny doesn't need logic.
How come Jane stresses about not going over to help Luke saying it's too late, but is A-ok fishing Clemmy out?
Because (and I actually think this for most of what Jane says) it's Telltale trying to tell us we can't save him by talking through a character and Jane doesn't need logic.
How come Kenny and Mike just stand there doing nothing like their brains switched off?
Because Telltale forgot about them in that moment and doesn't need them.
How come Bonnie can climb out onto the ice when that's an impossible thing to do!?
Because Bonnie doesn't need logic (she survived longer than Luke even though she was a drug addict).
Why is this part of the episode so stupid?
Because Telltale needed Luke to die in a shocking way.
Why is Clementine surrounded by stupid people!?
Because in the apocalypse your not smart your just stupid.

I'll be honest and say that I could never really bring myself to care for Luke, even in episode 5. I never liked the campfire scene because it's the same as a lot of the hubs in season 2, you can only talk to a few of the characters, and you have to talk to Kenny and Jane again against your will. The only other person you can talk to is Arvo, and you can only say one thing to him and he goes back to resume his grief and if you try to talk to him again he tells you to leave him alone. I didn't feel like I learned anything about Luke except that he majored in Art History, which doesn't tell me much about him as a person, the only other thing I really know about Luke came from Nick about their failed business venture, which still doesn't tell me about his character, because he's unwilling to divulge his feelings on the past and present, which is why I like his scene at the log because I actually get a sense for his emotions and how he feels.
He did die a stupid death, but in my opinion he didn't have the worst, with that "honor" going to Nick.
There was nothing about him to really like or hate in my opinion. I feel that way about almost everyone in season 2. He had potential but wasn't developed enough to get me invested. There's a couple people I hated like Arvo and Jane. But as far as really liking a character I never got attached to any of the new cast. Season 2, for me at least, was all about Clem's growth and struggle to survive. The cast was basically there just to help move her story forward.

I like Kenny. I agreed with him on everything but dropping Ben in my first play through. So We got along just fine. On my second I did everything opposite to see the difference, and I see why people that played that way their first time don't like him.

I know I have commented before but I really want to let a rant out about the hate for Luke;
Luke is a good guy, many call him 'boring' because of this, yet if he makes a mistake then suddenly he is a bad guy. Now, I've seen many posts that state that Luke is popular for no good reason, like he is undeserving of his 'popularity' when, in reality the so called 'under dogs' Sarah and Nick are so much more popular than Luke has ever been. Also, Luke has never been popular; Episode 1 - Majority of the people mad that Luke dropped Clementine but thought he was alright since he stood up for her in the end. Episode 2 - Kenny comes back thus the majority of people (not everyone, since not everyone likes Kenny) side with Kenny. Episode 3 - Luke isn't in this as much, he comes back to try to rescue the group but get's caught and tells them that if they want to leave so soon then they would have to leave Kenny behind - Kenny fans (and quite a lot of other people) became mad at Luke for that because it painted Luke as the 'wuss'. Episode 4 - He has sex with Jane which outrages a lot of people, creating less and less Luke fans as most people were angry at him for that. Episode 5 - He was given his chance to shine, he was actually given some more character development to only be killed off in the end which makes his whole role in Season 2 seem less important than it was before. So what I am trying to say is that, Luke has never been the most popular character, sure quite a lot of YouTuber's seem to really like him but on the community and Tumblr etc... Luke is not as popular as the likes of Sarah or Nick.
Luke was (like I said before) a good guy, he tried to keep his humanity in situations where he could easily loose it (Carver's death, not wanting to be involved in it even though he hated Carver), he stood up for Clementine against the Cabin Crew when the majority of them wanted to either kill her or let her leave and not fix her arm (in the house meeting you can hear Luke say things such as 'Don't we have penicillin? Or something that we could give her?' and when they tell him they aren't wasting any on her he says 'I'm just saying we could help, that's all' and when they talk about leaving her in the shed till the next day he tells them that they 'can't keep her locked in there' because they're 'not animals'.) He defended Clementine's capabilities and (like his VA said) attached himself the Clementine the most out of everyone, ('She's a valuable little girl. I mean hell, if she can sew up her own arm then she's fit to cross a bridge!' Also, that entire bridge scene you can see their relationship move forward and Luke looks quite sad if you don't sit with him. When Kenny says 'She's stayin!' Luke replies with 'What? Excuse me?' Showing that he really wants Clementine to stay with them.) Luke cares about his group and was a good leader. (He traveled all the way from the Ski Lodge to Carvers camp with no food or no rest making him completely exhausted. He could have just left them behind, but he didn't he went out of his way to come and find them and attempt to rescue them although it failed because Luke isn't superhuman as the song 'Collide' by Howie Day states; 'Even the best fall down sometimes.')
I know he isn't perfect and has made mistakes but we are all human after all, other than making those mistakes I find it hard to think of reasons why people could hate Luke, sure I can understand dislike since not everyone will like every character, but hate?
Anyway, sorry for the really long post, I will just end this on a gif of Luke looking sad because I think it is the most suitable for this post haha:P
Great summary . I just wish I had got attached to Luke for his personality not his actions XD.
attached himself the Clementine the most out of everyone
I think this is because everyone else has their 'pair'. Sarah had Carlos, Nick had Pete, Rebecca had Alvin and Luke had no one until Clementine came along. Also the rest of the Cabin group has a 'tie' to their 'pair' so Luke might have saw Clementine as his little sister so he could have that same relationship.
He could have just left them behind
At first I thought he did and especially after Carver says "Finally cut and run? Why am I not surprised." Which makes me think he did something similar in the past and just left. However I did think Kenny killed him. So when he came back I was surprised and couldn't believe he would go so far just to rescue his friends.
was a good leader
I always thought of Luke as the leader (always carrying the AK-47 around, it made him look like the leader) but I don't think Luke believed he was the leader for example when he says "A group is only as strong as its leader." which suggests (this is turning into a PEA paragraph :P) he doesn't think he was the leader (maybe he thought Kenny was).
I find it hard to think of reasons why people could hate Luke
Maybe people are just jealous of him :P I think people hate him because of what he said/the actions and facial expressions he did towards characters other people loved.

Haha, well I always thought as him as the leader and when Telltale did the SpoilerCast they said about how Luke was like Alpha Male, when he died the group basically fell apart since he was like the glue that held them all together!
Yeah I agree with the whole jealousy thing! Haha:P I'm sure that's why some people don't like him, maybe they are jealous of his Casanova status?;)

He says it in episode 4 when you're talking about Jane. I can't remember which line triggers it but I do know it's not silence :P.
Yeah, … morehe kinda is the Alpha Male even though in episode 5 he doesn't think he's one of the 'Alpha Male guys' but Bonnie thinks he is.
You've worked it out everyone is jealous of his Casanova status. Why did Mike have to give that away? It only made the jealousy stronger
I tried to appreciate Luke as a character, and I kept playing in the hopes that he'll step out of his role and become more active in his contribution to Clementine's story, but in the end I found him two-dimensional and underwhelming to the point where I'm disappointed that Telltale just wasted his character throughout the entire season and hastily killed him off in order to cut out all ties with the Cabin Group.
The more the episodes went on the more clear to me that the writers just doesn't know what to do with Luke and how to make him an interesting character in his own right. So instead they crossed their fingers and hoped that his good looks and puppy-dog eyes charms, friendly and level-headed nature (except in Episode 4 that is), and brother-sister dynamic he has with Clementine (which ended up getting less and less focus as time went on) would appeal to the audience.
Instead he ends up inconsistently written between episodes, both personality-wise and motivation-wise. He risks his life travelling miles chasing his captive friends to the point of exhaustion and starvation, and in the next episode he prioritises having sex with a stranger over a perimeter search that potentially kills someone in his group due to his negligence. He's also shown to be protective towards Nick and is panicking at the thought of telling the truth to Walter out of fear that he would take the news of the accidental killing of his friend Matthew badly, but when Nick dies in Episode 4 he only manages to frown for a few seconds and gets over the death of his childhood friend of 20 years.
And as for his last minute background story before his death the next ten-twenty minutes? He's a former entrepreneur who collaborated with Nick in his travels, and used to study art and agriculture before the zombie apocalypse. Compared to the likes of Nick, Sarah, Kenny, Rebecca, and so on, Luke's background story is hastily slapped in at the last minute and bears no relevance to his character. Had Luke confessed that he suffers from a split-personality disorder (which would explain his inconsistent portrayal) and was too scared to tell his friends about it for fear of being rejected, Luke would have been an interesting character...that is if he wasn't to be killed off minutes later.
Had Telltale actually planned out Luke's character with more effort and enthusiasm they had with Kenny and Jane, Luke could have been an memorable deuteragonist instead of a main character that fades into the background and is anti-climatically killed off in the final episode, and thus ultimately makes no impact on Clementine and her story whatsoever.
I know I have commented before but I really want to let a rant out about the hate for Luke;

You bring up some interesting points, some of which I agree with more than others. Either way it was an enjoyable read!
Regarding Luke's brief and minimal display of grief, though (which is a common thing I see brought up,) the situation being what it was, he didn't really have the chance to grieve what with the trailer quickly being swarmed and Sarah in danger. Esp. as a leader you can't just stop and let your own problems consume you to the point where you're paralyzed and lose sight of what's happening in the present. Now one might say, well, he could have shed a few tears and moved on.
Maybe.
But Luke isn't really that kind of guy, from what we've seen. Nick admires Luke's ability to 'keep moving all the time', and it seems that way because Luke's just a big vat of pent-up, tamped down emotions and trying to focus on/keep busy with other things and deflect concern with a bit of humour of 'I'm fine' is his way of coping. Some people, for example, just can't cry at funerals. Myself, for example. It happens later or just in private. Doesn't mean they aren't hurting any less than someone who weeps openly.
I think it's telling when, in ep5, Luke mentions Nick first when he's reflecting on everyone he has lost and whose deaths he feels guilty over.
Beware, long post ahead.

He says it in episode 4 when you're talking about Jane. I can't remember which line triggers it but I do know it's not silence :P.
Yeah, he kinda is the Alpha Male even though in episode 5 he doesn't think he's one of the 'Alpha Male guys' but Bonnie thinks he is.
You've worked it out everyone is jealous of his Casanova status. Why did Mike have to give that away? It only made the jealousy stronger
Oh okay thank you!
Haha yeah I have uncovered the dark secret as to why there is Luke hate now we can eliminate them all!;)
idk...
Beware, long post ahead.
G'night, sweet prince, as they say.
Couldn't agree more, Luke is my guy.
Yeah same, he's a really great guy and I really don't understand how people could hate him, I can understand not liking but hate? I just don't think he has done anything worthy of hate in my opinion :P
