They made it pretty obvious, without being explicit, that Jane and Luke had a quickie. Jane confirmed there was no time for kissing and Mike jokes about how Luke lasted longer than he probably could at this point. And Clem even tells Jane that things don't have to be weird just because she "made it with Luke"...it's pretty obvi that they bucked.
I think he apologized not just b/c Bonnie liked him, but b/c before they left Howes he and Bonnie were getting it on. She does say that his moves worked on her too. But
