Because they can't improve? Hell- they made a masterpiece of Season 1. They can definitely do that again.
I don't even get the hate on Se… moreason 2. Sure, it had its flaws, but it's not entirely shit. If they tied up loose ends and didn't make Kenny overshadow the cabin group to the point where they actually develop, then the season would have been great. But because of this, it doesn't make it entirely shit. It just makes it good.
So why not do it now. Telltale has been trying a lot of new things lately will the whole multiple protagonists thing, why not try something new here and have the endings have a huge impact. They have a lot of potential with these endings, I just want them to utilize it.
There is also one other moment that you must be aware of: different choice is not only different characters but different locations. That wo… moreuld mean Taletale, just to keep Kenny and Jane alive, should invest recources to create at least two totally different storylines, one regarding Wellington and other out of it.
They would waste their time and resource make two storylines even if they are awere like 80% players would ever play just one. Because choice to switch between two version is in previous game.
Something like that never happened so far.
I didn't say it would be imposible I just said that I doubt it
You didn't say you doubted it at all. You said "Nah. Look at Season 2...", that's not doubting.
Season 1 is a masterpiece it would be realy hard to make Season 3 better than it.
Uh- no. They're both by the same company. Season 2's mistake was having multiple writers on each episode. If you stick to one writer on one episode (who I really think should be Mark Darin, the guy who wrote S2E2), it's not going to be a clusterfuck of forgotten plot points and shadowed characters.
I think they'd have a lot of work to make it better than Season 1, which was excellent, but they can definitely improve from Season 2 (which… more to be fair was also very good, though it had some major flaws).
They can take the series in more directions than they could have when Season 1 ended- they're were 5 different endings, so it looks as if the players choice at the end of Season 2 will actually make a difference to the direction of the game, that is if Telltale decide to make five differing story lines. However, I get the feeling that (for the sake of simplicity) Telltale will sort of standardise the story for Season 3- so no matter whether you went to Howe's or not, or whether you went with Kenny or Jane, you will probably end up in the same situations. This isn't necessarily a bad thing if they do it right, but they have to improve the impact your choices have on the game, possibly the biggest complaint about Season 2 (and for the sake … [view original content]
Season 1: Masterpiece
Season 2: Crap
There will have to be some drastic changes. Season 2 was pretty bad I hope Telltale realizes it a… morend let it be 3 times a charm. GOT and TFBL give me hope but they're going to better than that to match Season 1.
The only reassuring thought I have is that Season 2 was not made by the same people who created Season 1 (at least that's what I assume), be… morecause I'd be worried if it was.
But nevertheless I'm amazed that this is the same company that had created a game that earned 80 Game of the Year awards, only to suddenly create the sequel that seems to go the complete opposite direction in terms of writing quality, memorable characters, and powerful moments.
Every episode is written by multiple writers. Writter who is signed is main contributor. If there is 2 writters signed, as in the case of 3 episodes from season 2, that usually suggest company wasn't satisfied with original script so episode suffered serious re-writes, so main contributor in re-writes is signed as well. Original writir is usually first and re-writer is second one.

Actually 7 endings
* With Kenny and AJ
* With AJ at Wellington
* With Jane and the family
* With Jane and AJ
* Alone (Kill Kenny, l… moreeave Jane)
* Alone (let Kenny kill Jane, leave Kenny)
* Alone (let Kenny kill Jane, kill Kenny)
And considering they have over a year to create Season 3, they have plenty of time to create a role for either Kenny or Jane for at least a couple of episodes aand then kill them off. I don't see them killing them off Omid style, I have faith in Telltale.
It's more of how you look at it I guess. Since there are 3 different alone endings, I consider it 7 endings since, even though I highly doubt it, there's still the possibility Jane or Kenny may come back since they could be alive.
I've mentioned this before, but you could easily keep them both alive if you simply moved the story into a 'community' setting.
Move them both into some place like Wellington, have them integrate into it and start doing jobs. Have Kenny be a mechanic, have Jane go on scouting/supply runs, something like that. You get to keep them around without killing them, get to involve them in the story by making them feel like they're a part of the community, and you have the opportunity to let the player continue to interact with them. Just letting the player talk to them every now and again each episode would be great.
This is one of the best ways they can handle determinant characters, since they wouldn't be fully required to have to eventually write them out of the story once the plot moves to a place where they aren't able to keep them alive in order to progress. Want to focus on other people and conflicts? Put them on the back-burner for a while. Instead of writing characters out of the story to let the conflict play out (like they did with Mike, Arvo, and Bonnie), you can just put them on the sidelines for a while without being forced to kill them or make them leave the group.
There's no way they'd be able to pull off having two unique stories playing out in two unique areas, but if they ditch the different locations and move them both into a singular spot, they would still be able to keep the characters. It'd undervalue the endings to a degree, yes, but at least people would get to keep the character they chose to stick by.

Its too much effort into something only few players will be able to see. 2/7 endings have Jane and 2/7 endings have Kenny. 0/7 endings have both of them. So, it's like making Jane dialogues for 28.5% of players who has her even if 71.5% which is majority will never see those. Same percentage for Kenny: only 28.5% will see those dialogues and 71.5% will not.
They will simply kill them off both in seconds 12 seconds of season 3 and everyone who expect otherwise should lower their expectations because he/she will be heavily dissapointed with season 3 no matter what else happens. Both Kenny and Jane already died season 2 and that's the fact that cannot be changed.

I feel the exact opposite, i feel a lot of people are blinded by love for the series/characters that they can't acknowledge simple flaws in writing, that if corrected would make Season 3 better.
Clementine kicking down a door wasn't needed. They could of given Nick and Sarah better deaths, but they didn't. Or make the game feel like you have choice in the game, where its not just a metaphor for floating down the river, where you have no choice, you must just endure the current and keep your head up from drowning.
I don't know, i don't hate it. Its average. Do i want TTG games to be average? No, i expected a lot more from Season 2. When you write such a epic story like S1, ie) Star Wars, then you get Star Wars the Phantom Menace.... what do you expect to happen? This is why i tell them why it is average in IMO. Its not going to be GOTY, sorry. Not a chance in hell.
It's hard to say. I guess it depends on whether they carry on with Clem's story, or they go for something completely new and different.
W… morehatever it is, I'm sure Telltale can pull it off once again. Season Two got way too much criticism and I feel like it was under-appreciated by a lot.
I think it's going to go like this - Season One will be the best. Season Three will be second-best, perhaps coming close to Season One, after Telltale learn from their mistakes. Season Two is good but will be regarded the worst in comparison to the other two seasons. That's how I see it going.
I don't think so. Trust me, it seems like everyone hates Season Two for the same reasons you do. I hardly find anyone who defends Season Two aside from me or MetallicaRules.

Not everyone. :P I like Season Two but in the same time I think Season One was better. Still I enjoyed playing Season Two and can't wait for Season Three which I think will be even better after (hopefully) Telltale will learn from some of their mistakes.

It seems like they already are. They now have hub areas back and at least 2 hour long enjoyable episodes for both Game of Thrones and Tales From The Borderlands.

Yes but still it's the very first episodes. :P There is still 4 or 5 more episodes to go but yeah, let's hope that Telltale will again make something good. Wait... not good. Awesome.

I suppose you are right, I have yet to play the leave Kenny ending yet.
I wonder if Telltale will have US kill Jane or Kenny
its the least memorable, he gives the same speech he gives in the wellington ending, just in a different location
That's not even an opinion. That's blindly judging something that hasn't even been seen.
I wouldn't say S2 was crap, it just had a few plot issues.

If you ask 100 random people who played both S1 and S2. Which do you think they would prefer?
^_^
I would say S1 is a 10 and S2 is an 8.
Lets just say hopefully TTG can learn from S2 and make S3 much more better.
S1 of course
I wouldn't say S2 was much worse than S1, I liked some of the characters a lot, but S2 still could have been better.
They won't top S1, but they'll certainly learn from the mistakes they made in S2 (which, to be fair, was good as well). I'm very excited for S3
It will be very hard to top S1.
