I Really Do Want To Like Larry.
I really do, but I just can't. He seems like a really genuine guy and he is only looking out for his daughter... A lot of people don't actually realise Larry was just trying to protect his family just like Kenny was, and just like Lee was, yes he had a different method of doing so but he was still just trying to protect his family and when I went back and played season 1 the other day I tried to agree with him as much as possible, I gave him rations (after Clem, Duck and Kenny ofc) instead of calling him a racist I said he is just trying to protect his daughter and his response was a little bit better, I gave him the axe instead of giving it to Mark.. but I don't know..
Tell me what you guys think about Larry and if you really do despise him because of his actions, or do you despise him because your favourite youtuber doesn't like him...
Have a great day

eeerrr???? Okay then...
well slightly i like larry too, just like i said i hate no one but becca in the walking dead universe
He is a good person even though he might seem mean at times. Not everybody has to be like Kenny and lick your boots every damn second. He has a personal problem with Lee but that doesn't make him bad.
I hate Larry, had no problem helping Kenny drop a salt lick on his head. He was an asshole to me, even if I sided with him and when I helped him get his meds. He was willing to kill Lee because Lee killed someone (kind of hypocritical if you ask me) and then he tries to blackmail him by saying he will tell everyone about my secret if I don't do what he says. Even if he was trying to protect his family, the whole black mailing thing is what really gets on my nerves, that was in no way going to help protect Lilly because Lee wasn't a danger to the group.
I've always seen Larry as something of an anti-Lee. Both are people who have lost pretty much everyone close to them, both have at least one person left that they care about and are willing to do anything to keep them safe, the only difference is how closed off and callous they've become to the rest of the world.
Larry chose to disregard everything besides Lilly in his attempts to look out for her and keep her safe, even if it means that he comes across as a dick or as a rather amoral person, while Lee chose to take a more humanistic approach, trying to help other people the best he can, willing to do what he can as long as it doesn't put Clementine in direct danger.
Both have good intentions, they just have different means to the end.
I think Larry was a huge asshole even before the apocalypse, so he's even meaner now with the walkers and everything.
I'm replaying the series right now and I saved Doug instead. When I tried to feed him in episode 2 he declines like a gentleman, but then Larry volunteers himself for his rations while calling Doug dough boy. Larry proceeds to blackmail Lee towards making the "right" decision with the food. Prick.
Larry wasn't so bad. I mean you got to see things from his perspective. He was a old PTSD war vet, i could see it in him. I never hated Larry and tried to save his life when he died.
I didn't hold any dislike or anger towards him whatsoever. The way he protected his daughter was a little too extreme but I never thought he was a bad guy he could be a bit of a prick but if you look past it he never wanted to deliberately cause anyone harm he just wanted to protect Lily.
To be brutally honest, I don't understand why people bother wasting their kindness on Larry. It's not worth it IMO; he hates you no matter what. I don't care that he just wants to protect Lily and went through a lot before the ZA, it doesn't excuse his shitty attitude. This guy wanted Lee to die in the drugstore, and I'm supposed to feel obligated to feed him? Fuck that.
Give him a break, he misses his Murder She Wrote. No wonder he is upset.
Lmao, alright.
Want to get old people angry, mess with their driveway or their grass. I remember people would always pull into my neighbor's driveway to the point it made him so mad he put up a chain. It was funny when i was a kid.
He almost killed Lee for no reason... I say he's unlikeable.
I really dont like him, but I replayed Season 2 and found spot where you can talk to Lilly and Larry which is kind of obstructed so not alot of people saw. And the conversation there made me feel really bad later
I've tried to see things from Larry's perspective, but I just can't. He's unlikeable. He tried to get Duck killed, he tried kill Lee, and he constantly insults everybody even if they had done no harm to him. Larry is nothing but a crotchety old piece of shit and I'm glad I helped Kenny kill him.
I had that problem too, no matter what I just couldn't seem to like him until Episode 2. He got a lot more likable once his brains were splattered all over the walls.
I kid, of course. I never liked him.
He's continually mad with everybody, not just Lee.
I hated Larry because he treated Lee like shit...
But honestly if we played as another character and Lee was an NPC in the group who we found out was a murderer pre-apocalypse, then bitches would be rioting... seriously...
But because we were Lee, everything that Larry said was said to us. And nobody says anything bad about us!
In all seriousness, everything you said about him just trying to protect his daughter is true. Just that he had a rather unorthodox method.
Season 2?
What alternate universe do you frolick in, friend.
I think leaving the VHS collection behind was what really broke his spirits.
Ep 2*
Jesus I keep messing up everything I type lately lol
Hahaha no problem, I was just having a laugh
His Matlock will be missed!
I did a semi play-through of evil Lee but treated Larry nicely as much as possible and that fool still hates you by the end no matter what. You have the final optional conversation with him in the meat locker and he still blames/hates on Lee. Un-freakin-believable.
