What should TTG bring to the table for S3?

edited January 2015 in The Walking Dead

Here are just a few ideas:

  1. Full 2 hour episodes, that results in a 10 hour thrill ride.
  2. More character development, resulting in more information about each character.
  3. A character that could test Clementine's morality.
  4. A story that takes us to a brand new interesting destination.
  5. A new enemy, that has something unique about them, maybe he sticks around for more than 1 or 2 episodes and maybe Clem has to make a decision between her current group and the evil group.

    1. Make the episodes 2 hours long again.
    2. Hubs
    3. Choices mattering
    4. Endings playing a role for at least an episode or two (kind of goes with 3.)
    5. Nick Breckon writing all of the episodes OR a staff of Breckon, Pierre Shorette, and Mark Darin being the main writers (no Petty)
    6. No returning characters except Clem, AJ, and Kenny/Jane (depending on your ending)
  • Kenny/Jane not being killed for sake of easier writing

and Im still waiting for the zombie worshiping cult

  • Hubs and don't kill off every character, cause if they're just going to kill everyone off why should I care?

  • The cult would be interesting to see, that's a great idea.

  • I think that could be a good idea, if the right writer is behind it.

  • Great idea! Zombies! Dangerous zombies, zombies that destroyed United States (world), zombies without Play-Doh skulls, hard to kill zombies, zombies that are part of the game not just interlude.

    * Zambies

  • I have to admit I would have like maybe 2 more characters to have survived at the end of S2.

Hubs and don't kill off every character, cause if they're just going to kill everyone off why should I care?

    What? Clementine will be hungry! All she's had is a can of chili in the last 9 days! ;_;

  • You sure you don't want more beans.

  • Perhaps Telltale should try a go big or go home solution to S3. They still have the assets to their game Jurassic Park game right?. That's right! I'm talking about bringing in a Tyrannosaurus Rex. This would add a new element of danger TWD universe is missing and it wouldn't cost Telltale a dime since they already own this magnificent beast. Imagine the possibilities.

    1. Longer episiodes 2-3 hours each
    2. More episodes GOT has six episodes, why not TWDG?
    3. Better Storytelling/ (i know this is a sensitive subject for some of you.) When you expose your audience to nothing but bad, and more bad they get desensitised to the whole experience. That is why half of the players honestly don't care what happens to CLementine now. Remember how you felt when the St.John's grabbed Clementine at the supper table? How did that make you feel, did you feel the same way when Carver smacked her in the face. I know i didn't.
    4. Better Character relationships- I am going to use Dragon Age Inquisition as a example in good Character design. This game had seven hours of full party banter. That was one of the nice touches about this game, the characters would have interactions with each other, some would like each other, other would dislike each other. It made them feel more alive when you would just hear some random comment out of the blue about something.
    5. Realistic Solutions or Outcomes Why have Clementine kick down a door, fix a wind turbine, what is next she will land missing flight M2-70? Its just so beyond reality its silly. Why can't they give Clementine some sort of knowledge and have her put it to use later, ie) Remember the part where Lee finds out that porcelain in a Spark plug apparently breaks glass. IMO he should of found a situation where he needed to do that, that would really help the game imo.
    6. A Strong Bond between the protagonist and Clementine
    7. AJ is removed from the story
    8. This season focuses on Clementine's education, her building relationships with others, and dealing with the pain she been living with for 3 years. Give her a break this season, let her be a kid for a while and let those tears flow about Mom & Dad. I want to see it, and everyone else does too.
    9. Less character Deaths in S3. Most of the main cast survives this season to go on the S4.
    10. Choices actually matter! Determinant status does not mean death sentence TTG.
    11. Give Clementine a boarder collie named Georgie.
    12. Clementine develops bad habits, from smoking to drinking depending on what choices you made last season
    13. More scenes like the campfire, light action in this Season, more about rebuilding what was destroyed in S2.
  • ^^ This. I couldn't agree more, but I wouldn't hold your breath. Telltale aren't going to listen to anyone.

This, why should we care about characters if they are going to die anyway.

Well GoT universe has much more story to cover so it was only natural it got 6 episodes instead of 5 IMO. Other than that, I agree with mostly everything else you said.

  • That wouldn't make any sense because dinosaurs have been ecstinct for hundreds of millions of years.

  • Couldn't agree more, I really hope S3 is not about Clem though, I want a fresh start :/

  • -2 hours again
-Make determinant characters live longer, and be more important.
-Possibly be focused of 400 days characters, or a new group
-More hubs with multiple conversations with characters
    -New QTE stuff?

  • You will be disappointed then. Clem is a confirmed character (confidential info) but the storyline will be rather different than Season 1 & 2.

  • Clem is a kid, despite us knowing her for 2 seasons, she has plenty of character development needed to reach into Season 3. Although the choice matters will be seen straight from Episode 1 Season 3, depending on which ending you picked for Season 2. Trust me, the choices WILL matter.

  • I agree she was given the overbearing weight of responsibility in S2, sewing her harm was realistic seen as Christa showed her, but turning off wind turbines and kicking down a door is just plain unrealistic. I would like S3 to have player choices where you can choose to have a character helping Clem.

-Hubs like the good old days [but no long ass trains puzzles, for the love of-]

-Free up the camera in hub modes to an over the shoulder look? [Life is Strange styleee.]

-Hugs, because giving hugs are beautiful.

-Difficulty modes for quick-time events. [e.g: Easy, Normal, Hard, Pro]

-Characters ACTUALLY remembering stuff and treating you differently for it.

-Developed characters that don't randomly nor constantly keep bringing up their dead family to make you feel bad for them. ["I thought about Duck today." "Shut up I wanna sleep!" / "Jaime always had one in her purse" "I don't care."]

-Your decisions throughout the season weighing on what the ending will be [where the game estimates maybe the amount of times you sided with somebody or how much of an asshole you were.]

-Unlockables [e.g concept art, making of vids, costumes! o.o]

    -Stop killing everybody.

-More horror, actual straight out 'Jesus Christ they're so screwed! where'd the hell that come from!? AAAAH!' horror.

    -Stop KILLING everybody! >.<

  • Sean is not coming back, it would be great if he does (he is my favorite writer for TWD), but he's moved on and started Camp Santo with Rodkin. If he were by some miracle to come back, then I would change my staff to Vanaman, Breckon, and Shorette, but he's not. I'm looking forward to Firewatch though.

    Sean Vanaman?
