Its pretty ignorant to immediately label him as a monster without knowing his back story or what he's seen... We don't know what Nate has se… moreen. Walk a mile in someone's shoes before you judge them.
I'm sorry, I don't want to cause trouble, but weren't you the one who said this in the Arvo Defense Thread (the title was changed to Arvo)
Whats there to defend? He's an insecure psychopath who enjoys shooting children. A spoiled brat that gets away with everything.
That seems a bit like immediately labeling him without knowing his back story or what he's seen. I mean just like Nate we barely know either of these characters.
The most I can say about Arvo's back story is that he's a Russian with a screwed up leg and a pair of glasses who had a sister and was in a group with two other Russians (possibly more, as there was most likely casualties during their time in the apocalypse) and that he was so grief stricken for the los… [view original content]
Nate was proven to lie when he didn't cover Russel once while they were under attack so it shows he's also a "proven liar" how do you know h… moree wasn't lying about attacking the old couple several times before? how can you prove he didn't steal from them? It's not like we saw what happened, what else will he lie about?
What makes Nate more evil than, Kenny, Clementine, Jane, Lee. Please let me know, because i can list off things that these characters have done that makes them "evil."
Lee - Kills a state senator, kills how many people to rescue a little girl.
Kenny- Do i really have to explain this?
Jane- ^^
Clementine- how many people died because of her again? How many people has she killed/got killed.
There is no good or evil in the ZA, just survival. The old people were going to die anyways, it was just a matter of time. Personally i would of robbed them and left, but i believe Nate was mad because of them shooting at him in the first place, i think it goes back to what happened with Eddie. Got a little Combat PTSD.
Lets defend a psychopath who has been consecutively robbing a struggling elderly couple, one of whom is on the brink of death, puts a boys l… moreife in danger, and disrespects everyone that is not himself.
Makes perfect sense.
Could we defend Carver as well? Or the Saint Johns? Nate was blatantly an evil character.
If you're using an arguement which is because someone lied once it means whatever else they say could all be lies, then that goes for any character that has lied once which for example if you put it onto another characters context like Nate or anyone for that matter it just sounds silly.
Nate enjoyed it. He kinda reminded me of the Claimers or the Termites.. He knew what he was doing was wrong, but that's the way they world works now....you're either the butcher or the cattle...and he enjoyed being the butcher.
Lets agree to disagree. The difference between Nate and Carver and The Stranger is that they viewed themselves as heroes and saviors for what they were doing where as Nate knew what he is doing is wrong but has to.
Nate was kinda justified in attacking Wyatt and Eddie, The attack on the old couple is a little suspicious. The old people claimed he had been there before wearing a mask=which may or may not have been true...I chose to believe it because Nate kinda gave off the type of vibe...but the old couple could've just been paranoid and attacked anyone who got too close for comfort. I'd hardly call them murderers...everyone in the Walking Dead universe is technically a murderer now...so murder can't be looked at in the same context as it is now. Nate straight up murdered those old people. They could've easily reasoned with the folks and calmed them down enough for everyone to walking away with their lives...if it truly was a misunderstanding...Nate was psychopathic, but again, not necessarily a bad comrade to have on your side.
I don't think TT knew how great a character Nate was going to be, otherwise he would of been a major character in S2 and not just featured in 400 days spin off.
It would be great if he comes back as he is possibly my favourite character, it sucks that someone so compelling is just never included again.

Nate could be just as bad as Carver, but I don't think Nate has that leadership quality about him. He's more of a 'Daryl' type..loyal second… morehand man. He wanted the companionship of Russell, but didn't go about gaining Russell's trust very effectively. Russell confides in Nate that he left his group b/c the leader just wanted to rob and kill other survivors. What does Nate say to Russell before he kills the old couple..."are we gonna kill 'em and take their stuff or what?" I think Nate would've been loyal to Russell, but that was him showing Russell his true colors as a survivor....or just really insensitive joke
She lied about the baby because she saw it as being good for clem's benefit to try get you away from kenny who she saw was cracking. When has there been a time she's lied which was has caused you to suffer and was for her own benefit?
She lied about the baby because she saw it as being good for clem's benefit to try get you away from kenny who she saw was cracking.
Who was the reason that Kenny cracked in the first place. JANE What do you expect to happen when you tease an angry dog with a steak, over and over and over. You start smacking it, beating it, until one day it bites the stuffing out of you. Jane is the kind of person that goes and tells on the dog, blames the dog and has it put down in her own self righteous way.
That is what makes Kenny better than Jane, ( not sure how we got to this point, i tried to avoid it, I really did.) He isn't a liar, and didn't try to provoke Jane, like she did with Kenny. She wanted Kenny dead or gone. She didn't want the child either, imagine if Jane would of survived that encounter, do you really believe that she would of said, "OH btw, the baby is still alive, and i made up the whole AJ is dead just to trick Kenny into a fight?"
Hell No, she would of walked right off, if that baby didn't cry and you know it. You can go ahead and act like she wouldn't , but you know deep down that she would abandon that baby. Kenny isn't perfect, but in the circumstances he is better than Jane, at least he isn't a baby killer.

Im not even sure why you decided to turn this into a Kenny and Jane war when all I did was mention Jane wouldn't lie to clem that would cause her to nearly die or have something horrible happen to her.

I know right, i mean lets look at this realistically,
The old woman was going to die. Being shot in the stomach is a very painful way to go. Nate honestly did her a favor , the old man well, he was the only one he truly killed, he did it for the same reasons Kenny took their things, because they needed them and they could.
The old man was on the verge of a heart attack and had gone hysterical. Besides I doubt he would want to live a short miserable existence without his wife. Better them to have a quick, painless end than a long, painful one. I noticed Nate didn't look at them while shooting him which could mean he didn't enjoy it as much as he seemed.

I saw that, my mind perceived it as he probably killed before, its harder to pull the trigger when you are looking them in the eyes. If your looking to the side, or their shoes, its a lot easier to pull the trigger.

I think he did it more out of shock value than anything else. People with a serious hatred or contempt usually give them a death stare before shooting as seen when Clementine kills Kenny after he kills Jane. I don't think he's a genuine killer just someone who wants someone to care about him

I personally feel he didn't care, imagine yourself in that situation, some old guy you don't know shoots at you, ruins your truck, I have combat PTSD as well, and i probably would of lost my temper with this old man as well, its a definite trigger for myself when people shoot at me, i have memories of bullets wizing past my head. When you are in combat, you are disassociated to everyone, including your own feelings, emotions, there is nothing there. Once its over, and things calm down, i'm sure he felt a little bad about what he did, but by then it was too late.

Well one thing we know that's possible, is that Nate is still out there somewhere....
Maybe we forget about him then one day during a new episode he COMES BACK out of nowhere!

I was planning on mentioning that but you beat me to it. Is an 'oh the irony' comment applicable here or...?

Yeah Jane seems like the kind of person you can Trust wholeheartedly, come on , give me a break. She lied at least three times that i can remember.
It was that VA man. Jefferson Arca (I think) did an excellent job playing the role of a survivor that got too use to the zombie apocalypse.
i thought it was pretty funny. I laughed out loud.
Russ's face was fucking priceless

Yeah Arca really did a great job, wonder if he'll do anymore characters in the future.
You'll never believe that his VA has one of the thickest french accents ever. I saw a show of his

Imagine all of the dialogue options we would be given if he's the season 3 protagonist
Trevor Philips of TWD
Be a dream come true. Especially interacting with any female characters. Lol

I'm hoping for the Clem and Nate dream team if you couldn't tell by my avatar
Would be cool!
