Reasons why Clem won't be S3 playable character.

  • Why not S4, S5, S6...? Telltale has a chance to create another story that can be connected somewhere with Clem's story and start another season by this point. All we are doing is guessing that maybe season 3 will have another protagonist. Clem's story isn't over. She can be the protagonist in another game season.

  • sorry,

Well, I didn't mean that Clem would be the leader of a community anytime soon. I would imagine she'd have to age a bit more first. I meant that theory as to say if there are more seasons, each season could show Clementine as a little bit older and the would culminate with her being the leader of a community.

  • Christa is the only character other than Clem I can see as the PC for season 3. I hope Christa doesn't end up like Molly and she's just someone the PC never gets closure with. ( I always felt the got rid of Molly way to soon)

I really hope they wouldn't use Mike...although I hope Clem does get to see Mike again so she can give him a good ass-kicking.

The more I see, the more I suspect Christa will turn out to be the PC. Telltale left her fate unknown for a reason. (...unless they REALLY want to blindside us, and cast Mike instead. But if that happened, I'd rather play as the raccoon.)

  • I see. In that case, I agree. If Clementine was a bit older I don't see a reason for her not to be a leader. I mean, she's already skilled survivor but I guess it'd depend on player's choices. I think not everyone want's to be a leaders. For example I don't know about this but like I said - idea is interesting though we won't see this anytime soon. Not in season 3, I'm sure.

  • It wasn't that much of a stretch to me that Kenny came back and it really surprises me that a lot of people think that. I didn't walk away from S1 in any way thinking Kenny was dead, just MIA to me even Lee is 50/50 regardless of Popular belief of his fate. TWD has a rep for epic survivals and quick shocking deaths. From the first issue of TWD, Rick Grimes should've been dead but after waking up in the hospital many days after the apocalypse, rides to ATL and finds his family.

Well, I guess they were already stretching things a bit with Kenny, although I'm glad he came back. If no one other than Clementine, AJ, and Kenny/Jane were to return in S3, I could live with that.

  • I try not to insult people on here as it risks a ban even if it's something not that bad.

So tell me, why are you so obsessed with that female wrestler?

  • I wonder if people will have a meltdown if/when it´s announced she´s the PC.

  • Probably not a full on meltdown, but it'd piss me off enough to walk away from the series. At least until I read a full 5 episode review.

  • Different strokes for different folks. I just don't think Clementine is a strong enough character to carry the entire series. They need to take some time to build up other characters if they want to keep the series going. Unless Season 3 as a whole is supposed to be Clementine's going away song.

  • They can still have Kenny in it. More than likely they would have to pull an Omid/Christa on Kenny or Jane.

  • Nope, she's actually married. Full on married to CM Punk.

The choices should a bigger impact on the overall story, but it's harder to do that when they need to make sure everyone stays on the same page, mostly

How will TT start a season 3 with everyone's ending? I think we can all agree that the worst-case scenario would be for Telltale to

Quick formality: I don't remember if I've ever commented on this thread before.

Now on to business: I also don't see how they could make it work, Clementine being Season 3's playable character.
Not with the 4 different endings they have for this Season.
In my honest opinion, I think we do need a new playable character for Season 3, with the proviso that they are a character that we have already met in the game, but not one that we know much about.
In order to really tie the whole thing together, the new character would have to be one we're already somewhat acquainted with.
Otherwise what would be the point of the previous two games?

On that note, looking back over the last two games, I honestly feel that that TT made a HUGE mistake, when they killed Lee off at the end of Season 1.
If Lee were still around, we would still be able to continue with the story we have now.
And now TT also made another HUGE mistake, by making Kenny a determinate character, as Kenny was one of the last of the original cast and every player had a history with him.
If Clementine is the only character in the game that we get to have some kind of rapport with, I fear that the quality and appeal of the game will suffer.

The game needs to have more than one main character.
In order improve a game, or tv show's appeal, you have to have different characters, so that different audience members have someone to relate to, as not every member is going to like the "Star"of the show.
The game's popularity will never be restricted to just one character, so that's why the game needs strong supporting characters that each player can build a rapport with.

Goes along with old saying: "Don't put all your eggs in one basket."

    Great post!

I wish Lee was still the main character and that would be good, but if he hadn't of been killed off in S1 like he was then this game would not be as popular and S1 would not have been so great at the end. I think it was a mistake bringing Kenny back so soon for S2, he overshadowed the whole season nearly and made the new characters less important. I think what TT should have done is not bring Kenny back for S2 but have him as the PC for S3 and at the end of S2 that would be Clementine at Wellington seeing the "I thought you were dead" person, leaving us in suspense until S3 would come out wondering who it would be. I reckon S3 would be Kenny's story from surviving Savanah after separating from the group to getting to Wellington where he'd meet Clem.

I still think the series can be saved though, as long as the writing is good then there should be no problems, the TV series went downhill in S3 but has went good again since the last part of S4.

I've heard many people say that Kenny is already a to well established character, to be the pc character for Season 3.
Granted, Kenny's personality is well established, but I still think it could work.
    Here's why.

After Kenny fights with Jane, and if the player tells Kenny he's dangerous, Kenny admits it to be true, but he also states he's trying to change.
Based on that, Kenny can be the playable character in Season 3, with the player deciding his choices from henceforth, and that way the player can in effect re-establish what kind of man Kenny is.
Do you see what I'm saying?

And in regards to the tv show, I thought Season 3 was good.
I liked seeing Andrea again, mainly cause she was so damn gorgeous.
And I thought it was a pretty good Season for Daryl, story-wise.
And in regards to Rick's character, they knocked it outta the park!

I think the show has gotten even better, particularly this Season.
I think the only things I regretted most, is Hershel an Beth's deaths.
Those two just brought such a ray of hope and decency to the whole thing, and it's a damn shame their characters are gone.

  • Since Season 1 begins Clementine's history. Ok, we played as Lee, but the main reason the game was Clementine's parents to find in Savannah. Season 2 was with Clementine as she had Kenny found again. I think, Season 3, will remain with Clementine, because she has to take care of AJ and show how to survive with Kenny or Jane or Alone.

  • I agree.
