*SPOILERS* Sarah should of died in episode 3 instead of Carlos!
Just think how more dramatic it would be! Plus in episode 4 Carlos would be all depressed. BUT Carlos wouldnt die in episode 4 he would end up sacrificing himself in the beginning of episode 5! Like a Russian would get up and aim for clementine and shoot but then Carlos would take the bullet! It would be really satisfying. Plus Carlos is a doctor meaning Rebecca could actually be a determinent death. Like if you steal the medicine from Arvo then Carlos can deliver the baby correctly and Rebecca would live in episode 4 and make it to episode 5! but if you dont then Carlos would say "I dont have the proper medicine to deliver this baby correctly". It would really be awesome

i guess. We got what we got though
That could've been interesting. except, you don't need medicine to deliver a baby, but I like where you're going with this
We already saw that situation play out with Kenny and Duck in S1Ep3.
If anything, neither of them should've died. Just killing characters for the sake of killing characters.
I guess that would be an interesting way to go. The overprotective father failing to save his daughter and looks at Clem, realizing she is someone that his daughter should have been.
ugh All these what if's are a lot better than the original story line...
Carlos dying instead of Sarah wouldn't have felt like they killed him just to kill him if they actually did something with Sarah instead of quickly tossing her out too...but that did not happen. Clearly.
I agree, honestly I would've preferred seeing Carlos's reaction to Sarah's death than Sarah's reaction to Carlos's, since her reaction was way too predictable.
But oh well.
True things would have gone much smoother for the group however we already have Kenny being depressed I feel like Carlos would have been the same way. I do feel Carlos' death was one of the worst in the series. I would have rather had a scene where he gets bit and can't find the guts to remove it so thus Clem or Sarah has to put him down. A mere image of Duck's death but in a totally different angle.
That would be a waste of all the setup Sarah had gotten up until that point, whereas Carlos had barely been utilized so we didn't actually lose much when he died. No sense in wasting one who was being consistently built up to give some predictable development to another that hasn't had a huge role, especially since we already had the bullshit of Sarita dying for Kenny's development. Two of the same thing going on would just be unbearable.
The fact that Sarah's story was handled in the worst possible way in the actual "Amid the Ruins" has no bearing on what could have been if the writers had actually given a shit or two. And really, the same goes for Carlos in "In Harm's Way".
Did you read my mind just now? o_o
While I would have liked to learn more about Carlos, I still feel that Sarah had more wasted potential. She represented a type of character we've never really had the chance to explore. A sheltered child, close in age to the protagonist, and already dealing with anxieties that were exasperated with unexpected loss.
And like others have pointed out, Sarah was the one who had a semblance of build-up for where her story arc with Clem could go. Regardless, both characters were killed off too soon.
Yes, yes I did.
