Things that ruined the build up to S2 episodes.
There are a few things that I would like to point out which I think spoiled the S2 episodes before they came out.
1.We were told that 400 days would bridge the gap between the 2 seasons but this turned out to be a lie and it ended up having hardly any significance on S2 at all.
2.Revealing that they were going to explore Kenny's fate after S1 was a mistake and ended up spoiling the "I thought you were dead" person mystery in a way.
3.The picture slide for episode 4 "Amid The Ruins" was so misleading, it featured shadows in the background with one of them being Eddie from 400 days wearing a hoody, he never appeared. The music was also changed from a cool dark theme to an old one that was used in S1E2.
4.Episode achievements being leaked onto the PS3 as of Ep3 onwards really spoiled a lot of stuff, basically revealing to us what things would happen in the episodes.
5.Hackers being able to hack into the game files and find names of characters for the next episode and what some of the choices were going to be, really ruined Ep4 as they leaked their findings and we knew who was going to appear in that episode and that we would have a choice to kill Rebecca. The worst was one where some hacker posted a video of episode 4 on YouTube before it had even been officially released!
6.It would help if they released the episodes on each platform the same day and not have Xbox users have to wait one more day. So many people can't help watching the episode on YouTube before they can play it.
I hope these problems are not continued into S3, especially the hacking and achievement spoilers.

The community really hurt S2's build up, but from what it looks like recently the mods and Telltale have gotten their stories on lock down. I have yet to see any spoilers from GOT or TFTB besides some speculation. The achievements however feel like they should be a bit more vague in their descriptions. It can be fun to discuss, but it can also be easily deciphered and lead to some spoilers.
The "picture slides" that are shown in the game have never really been too reliable on what happens in the story, I've believed them with a grain of salt just like the previews.
A lot of us speculated too much I think and ended up creating our own story which we then expected to see and were unhappy when that didn't become the case.
It's better for us to not have an idea what will happen and no early spoilers so we will enjoy the episode better.
Agreed, I have no intent on shunning people who create fan-fic or just want to hype themselves up, but people can get little stir crazy when waiting and they only end up disappointing themselves.
I think it would have been cool if Kenny appeared in ep 2, but ep 1 didnt have a preview for it, so it would be a huge shock
Were you even around the boards at the time Telltale made that statement? Right up until his reveal in episode 2, people were still bickering back and forth about whether "Kenny's fate" really implied he was coming back, or simply suggested he was just going to make a depressing cameo as a zombie.
No I wasn't, but I liked the idea of us being completely in the dark about his fate and if I'm honest I really did think he had died in S1E5. But when they released that statement I began to think otherwise.
True about the previews. I remember S1E3 showed Duck at the front of the train with Ben and Lee but this didn't happen. S2E4 was terribly misleading though. It was the one episode I really was looking forward to because it looked so creepy and mysterious, plus i love any scenes that take place at night and none of that happened at all. The blood on Clementines face, no hat, all made me wonder what was going to happen but it was a big let down. The episode itself was ok but just disappointing of the actual outcome.
I thought it was going to be the episode of the series and it would be so scary and dramatic etc.
You know, you could always NOT read all this leaks, episodes on YT, hacked files etc. How can you expect having fun from game, when you already dug up everything you could about it, before actually playing it? The only thing i saw before playing s2 was TRAILER and I guarantee, it did not include any spoilers.
If TTG stops giving out media copies they wouldn't have the hacking problem to begin with, honestly TTG why give a copy to some of these people, like PEWDIEPIE SRSLY.. Its funny.
Back then trolls would crash into a random non-spoiler forums on this website and spam hacked-info. spoilers. Dark days indeed.
I think Telltale is well aware of Season 2's problems already because of this thread. I have faith Season 3 will be different.
Not me. They have to hire a new staff to fix the problems season 2 had. I don't see them doing it.
Telltale isn't going to have new writers in Season 3?
I don't know, but i doubt it.
I dont think you can blame them for people hacking the game.... I dont see why people do that

Same here! I remember when the game first game out, the first thing i did before playing was viewing all the slides (naturally) and i stopped at 4 and thought "Wow! This episodes looks bloody awesome!"
I hate people like PWEDIEPIE making millions just for playing a game and filming it while he acts like a douche.
don't hate on him, hate on the millions of followers that tune in and allow him to make a living that way. I would do it if I was better at gaming
