I kinda want there to be a big time jump for season 3

edited February 2015 in The Walking Dead

I just want Clementine to be an all grown up so she doesn't get pushed around and overpowered by every asshole on the street. Being so tiny gets a little annoying at times. I kinda want to play as adult Clem, who's a hardened, badass, survivor and a competent fighter that can destroy anyone who tries to fuck with her. Kinda like a female version of Bigby in human form. What do you think?

  • I can't wait to play as adult Clem, but I want to experience her journey into adulthood as well. People say there can't be a time jump cuz it's gotta stay in tune with the comics, but I don't think that's necessarily true. We know it takes place in the same universe, but that doesn't mean that it has to coincide with the exact time frame of the comics, espeically if we're not going to see characters from the comics anymore...and they could allude to things in the comics having happened in the past if there were a time skip. I don't mind a small time skip, similar to what we saw from season 1-2, but I want to see how she overcame everything to make it into adulthood

  • Sorry to say this, we will never see Clementine as an adult in the series. Telltale is limited by the timeline of the comics that the story cannot go past it. The oldest Clementine can possibly be is 13 years old, the story in the game can only advance another 2 years before catching up.

explain why the game is limited by the timeline in the comics. I get the game is canon to the comics, but I still don't see why they couldn't do a time skip

this is a serious question. I really don't understand

  • Kirkman, at any time during the comics, could introduce a cure or a reason for the walkers dying off in the next year or two. But if the game were to skip like 7 or 8 years to make Clem an adult, and they are still in the apocalypse, then that becomes a huge canon issue. Kirkman does not want the writers of the game to go past where he is in the comics.

  • I think the time jump should be about 6 years so she can be an older teenager.

  • all right. I'll accept that. Thank you for the clarification, cuz i just could not think of any reasons why they wouldn't be able to time skip too far
