Completely useless
You know in both the first game, and the second you were able to get items. Like Jane giving you the nail file. WHY!? You never use these objects. They are nothing more than a tease that you may actually have use for them. Just another part of false choices, smoke and mirrors. Still I don't even know the reasons behind it. It's like "Hear you might need this later". It doesn't even give you a false choice. You don't face anything later that might require it. Lee didn't require any of the objects he could get in the game. Complete waste of time. A waste for the developers, and a waste of patience for the fans.
Game achievements. Really? This isn't the type of game you can complete while skipping over anything. I get an achievement for finishing a stage? woop woop. How about adding little things to the game that actually are worth rewarding.

Actually if you took it then there's a little scene where Jane is like "You kept it?"...Nothing much but it did have an effect.
They're achievements, they don't matter but it still gives a reward for playing.
If you played S1 and then S2, you knew the gameplay formula after beating S1 and you didn't like it, why did you keep playing? If I got a game that I didn't like, because of game mechanics that I thought were poorly done then I would just stop playing it and not get the sequel. Seems silly.
Don't all games have these. I mean, other games, not just Telltale games, allow you to pick up items that you don't necessarily need to use later on, they're just small little additions that help improve the gaming experience. It's like the candy bars in the drugstore, you don't have to pick them up and give them to people, you can completely avoid them. Or you can choose to find all three and give them to people, it helps improve the gaming experience. The same can be said about the batteries as well, you don't need to find them, but if you do, it's a nice little addition to the game.
Basically it's like the moments where a character is about to die in the episode and on the top left corner you see '_________ will remember this' even though he/she won't because they die a second later.
Weren't there four candy bars? One for Duck, one for Clem, one for Lily, and one for Carley?
I thought there were only 3, maybe there is a 4th and I didn't find everything. I've played Season 1 like 5 or 6 times but I never found a 4th candy bar. I'll be on the lookout for that next time.
Well after doing a quick Google search, I found this thread that claims there are four bars: https://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/29784/energy-bars-lost-or-used-spoilers/p2
Also, now that I think about it, I remember once going through it where I couldn't find the fourth one. Maybe TellTale updated it at some point a year or so ago for some reason.
''Carley will remember that...''
I don't think so.
''Pete will remember that...''
Well 400 Days had a few optional achievements, and I would like to see optional achievements return.
I had the hope that with the money generated from the first game TellTale would have been able to make improvements.
No... Other games have you pick up items you can actually use. The option is there. You can't use the items in this game.
