Would you have preferred that it was Luke vs Kenny instead of Kenny vs Jane?
I don't see that much people talking about having it Luke vs Kenny, instead of Kenny vs Jane. So I got kind of curious, which do you prefer? And who would you save?
Edit: There doesn't have to be fight either.

It would be a much harder choice for me, because i'd probably actually think a bit about it (unlike with Jane). But i would still go with Kenny.
I would have easily chosen Luke.
Oh boy... for me, Luke is a charming guy (except he's being a jerk during Episode 1, geez) and Kenny for me, is a likable asshole. I need to think about which one will I choose. Still... maybe I'll go with Luke, maybe I'll go with Kenny. Either way, both are likable character.
I would definitely choose Luke, but honestly it wouldn't matter. If you pair up anyone with Kenny I would never pick him.
Always Luke. Always.
Honestly, I prefer the clash between Kenny and Jane.
Now hear me out here: if they geared the season towards that fight in particular, rather than towards a Kenny v Luke conflict, I'd prefer it. As it stands, I can't disagree that there's way more foundation for it to be Luke and Kenny than there is for it to be Kenny and Jane. Kenny and Luke make more sense as it stands, but if we had the chance to go back and change that story point entirely, I'd prefer it to be built up as Kenny vs Jane.
If they started gearing towards a Kenny/Jane conflict in episode 3, and made Kenny vs Luke more of a red herring, I think it could have worked out pretty well in the end.
I feel to a degree this is what they were trying to do from episode 4 onwards, but didn't succeed too well at it. Instead of subtly implying more of a clash between Jane and Kenny, while slowly making it obvious that Luke and Kenny were meant to mislead people, they pretty much made these developments immediate, making it look more like Luke's demise was just out of the left field, meant to throw everyone for a loop, so they could be like "Haha! We fooled you guys! It was never Kenny and Luke, don't you see? It was Kenny and Jane THE WHOLE TIME! We're so sneaky, aren't we?" rather than having a much more effective realization of "Wait a minute, I've had it all wrong! They weren't building towards Kenny and Luke all this time, they were actually building towards Kenny and Jane! I should have noticed!" by the players.
I preferred the Kenny vs. Jane choice since it was much harder for me since I loved both characters at the time.
They should've kept it as Luke vs Kenny because that's what they were obviously going for so might as well finish it and wouldn't have felt so randomly tacked on at the end. Either way I would've picked Kenny, though.
Yea I would have chose luke just so I could have that ending with him like we were supposed to have.
So, choosing between Kenny and Luke in some final dramatic decision where picking between two guys who aren't really assholes, but are vastly different in their beliefs and how they go about surviving in a ZA and might shape Clemmy-boo as a person in the future for however long she's with them and make your choices matter because of the differences of the two men, but yet having both that have been present since the very first few episodes of Season 2, with one connecting events of Season 1 and the other Season 2 and both of whom could've been developed equally and made to care for Clem and baby the same, so when choosing who to save and who'd be an ideal protector and mentor for these kids, it would've been made that more unbearable instead of picking between Kenny and some chick that randomly wandered into the plot so late in the game she barely says anything until episode 4!?
Dude, you know my answer: a Kenny or Luke decision would've been a hell of a lot better, and could've kept something consistent in the darn season
There's nothing in the season that would suggest Luke is aggressive or assertive enough to actually fight with Kenny. So I'm not sure what the setup would be. As sloppy as it was, Kenny v. Jane is still a better choice.
Kenny, right? Luke could go freeze his ass off somewhere. Am I getting this right?
It doesn't have to be a fight, it could've just been "Save me from the walkers" thing.
Nuuuuu! Quit teasing it's Luuuuke! T_T
Yeah I would have because I really wanted a Luke ending, plus it would have felt a bit more natural since Telltale had been building this conflict between Luke and Kenny so I think a choice between the two would have been a good way to end the season. Although it's hard for me to imagine Luke pulling the same stunt Jane did with the baby, I also can't imagine him purposely getting into a physical fight with Kenny to kill him since Luke has his humanity so that would seem out of character but I think they could have done it in other ways like, both of them in peril and you have to choose who to save or maybe Jane and Kenny have their fight and Kenny kills Jane then Luke is mad at Kenny and you have to choose who you want to go with out of the two.
If the choice ever arose I would have chosen Luke. If you can't already tell by my profile picture:P
Like Carley and Doug.
Pretty much, yeah. Right on point.
Kenny vs. Luke, easy choice.
Kenny vs. Jane, tough choice.
I would have chosen Luke.
Yeah Kenny and Jane was a shitty writing flaw that popped out of no where with no build up other then the car scene that looked cheap. It put the icing on the shit cake of No Going Back. All in all depending if they didn't make Luke so inconsistent I'm sure he would have his own character flaws my choice would depend
I´d have taken a Luke vs anyone in the group if I had known it´d be like this.
I´d save Luke every time...
The problem is that Jane vs Kenny only actually became a conflict in Episode 5. Even the last scene of Amid The Ruins had Luke & Kenny bickering at each other, with both of them acting catty towards Clem for "picking sides" and Luke picking on Kenny for "being weird about the baby."
A sensible No Going Back would have had Luke and Kenny ready to come to blows over who started the gunfight that killed Mike and Bonnie.
In a way, since I really wish Luke could have survived, even if it meant at the cost of Kenny's life. But in the end, I prefer the Kenny vs. Jane scenario, even though I'm not that keen on it.
Yeah, like I said, I'm not denying that
They had all the groundwork for Luke v Kenny, then they decided to cast it out for Kenny and Jane. It didn't feel in any way organic the way they did it. If they actually went back and begun building up Jane and Kenny starting from episode 3, continuing through episode 4, and started to break off from the Luke and Kenny conflict (and as such, removed their random bickering at the end of episode 4), they could have made it work fairly seamlessly. Kenny/Luke hints weren't really getting dropped in episode 2 (unless you count the choice of who to sit with as part of it; I didn't, I just saw that as choosing between groups, using Luke and Kenny as the "mascots" of each respective group), so they still would have had time to change that direction in episode 3.
I never saw the dynamic as 'Kenny v Luke'. Yes, Luke and Kenny butt heads, but everyone in the Cabin Group usually disagreed with Kenny's ideas...I always saw it as 'Kenny v. Cabin Group'. Having to choose b/t Luke and Jane woulda been interesting...I honestly thought Luke was going to die in E3 when he almost passed out when meeting Clem...i said, 'aw, sh*t, he got bit...'
I'd actually would've preferred that the choice had been b/t Jane and Christa. Both women are very similar yet so different..
I don't think think it would ever be a Luke v Kenny fight....Luke was too nice of a guy and wouldn't have pulled something like hiding Aj so that he'd have a legit reason to kill someone....otherwise he would've killed Carver instead of fleeing Howe's. Luke and Carver couldn't agree on how to run the place and so Luke left...when the more sensible option woulda been to take Carver out himself, but Luke's not a killer. Ok, he'd fight Kenny if he was attacked by him, but Luke wouldn't ever purposely put his life at risk to maipulate people to get what he wants
that was a good episode of Fairly Odd Parents!
stupid trophy
I would have definitely preferred THAT choice instead of the Kenny vs Jane choice. For me, the choice we were given was a no-brainier. I chose Kenny and let him stab her. The Luke vs Kenny choice would have been harder, and it would really come down to who started it, why, etc.l
Sigh, my baby Luke.
Damn you, Telltale.
I would have liked to see a fight between Kenny and Luke over AJ's fate. I mean, Luke feels guilty over the deaths of the cabin group, you'd think he'd be a bit more concerned about the baby who is pretty much last memory of them he has.
...I still wished that Luke was replaced with Kenny in the 'what to name the baby' scene. .3.
Not really, it would of been completely out of character for Luke imo to start shit with Kenny. He was the peacemaker, i think they made the right choice for the final decision based on the story at that point.
This is exactly my thoughts, Luke was a peace keeper, a nice not and not at all arrogant like Jane and Kenny. He wouldn't have hid the baby to provoke Kenny, he wouldn't have responded to Kenny's childish insults, it would have been really hard to make them fight each other in a way that would seem realistic and be both of their fault.
I guess it would be marginally better, but it would still be an easy choice (Kenny) for me.
Definitely. The whole Kenny-Jane thing made no sense: okay, so Telltale did make Jane likable enough to make the decision hard enough, but I didn't real feel any attachment to her; yes, I was doubting Kenny a little bit for a moment, but there was no way I was going to kill him over a girl I met two episodes ago (and as it turns out I made the best decision, and that is not a cue for an argument over Kenny!)
Kenny V Luke certainly would've been very tough, even if it didn't come to a fight: from the beginning Luke was nice to Clem and of all the Cabin group he was the guy I found the least tedious and trusted me (the other nice was Pete, but apart from those two everyone was pretty annoying in my opinion, and I didn't feel much for them). It would have also made more sense as those two had been at each others throats for a while, unlike Kenny and Jane who didn't talk that often and didn't have much reason to hate each other apart from disagreeing on what they should do next (till the whole baby thing, of course)! And also, that whole stupid baby thing would've have happened (one of the main reason why (at the time) I chose to let Jane die).
If it had been Kenny V Luke, whether or not it went to a fight, the decision would be really hard to make. I was quite close to choosing Jane, but since the whole baby thing happened and I hadn't known her that long I chose Kenny (and, as I said, I stand by that decision). But if it was Luke, then I might end up choosing him over Kenny, though I'd probably immediately regret making that decision and would go back and change it. I don't know! All I know is that it would've made a much better ending.
Christa V Jane would be interesting, but the problem with anyone V Jane in my opinion is that you don't have a lot of time to bond with Jane, which is why the majority of people chose Kenny over Jane. It'd be the same with Christa V Jane, and plus everyone liked Omid so why would they then go and kill Christa? In my opinion, Jane should've either died or left the group for good, as her character didn't really fit in with the group as she hadn't been around long enough, and if it came down to anyone V Jane then she'd be at a disadvantage as you don't get long to bond with Jane. And also, both Kenny and Luke want what is best for Clem and have different visions of what that is, so they could easily clash (if Telltale had made more of it, that is).
Yes, I would much prefer a fight where I would expect what happens and go "wow I knew this was going to happen" rather than a have a last minute plot twist by telltale.
