Okay, I have a plot twist, prepare to be mindblown...well, not really.
Clementine actually died from the dog bite in All That Remains… more after she collapsed against the rock, and everything after is set in purgatory. That's why Pete and Luke appeared so out of the blue, because Clementine and the characters she meets from then after are all dead, with every task and decision a trial. Clementine was able to find Kenny so easily given he was dead too, and yet Christa is nowhere to be found anywhere as she still lives. That's also why Lee shows up in the finale because he was popping in to say yo on Clem nearing the end of her trials, and Wellington is like the gold gates to the afterlife, except she can decide to chose it or continue to wander in that limbo state. As for dying in purgatory and failing their trials, people either get booted back into the world of the living reborn as a new person, or they're officially dead dead for the guy downstairs because they're total assholes >.>

...what if there was a twist with TWD were you could "turn," but not turn? Like, the walker virus is active in you and you develop the symptoms of being a walker, but you're technically alive. You're in this state of flux; you could turn completely at a moments notice, but you could also get better just a suddenly. While you are in this state of flux, you go through extreme pain and fatigue as exposed wounds would still be felt by an individual. People like this are seen as outcast by non-victims. The mix of pain, exhaustion, starvation, and mental torture are too much for one to bare alone. Many go on to committing suicide just so they can end their misery and completely turn. Those who do try to survive find others who have been excommunicated by the remnants of human society. They end up banning together and forming some of the most stable communities in existence as they survive and heal. But, there is some division among them as they wrestle with the choice to help the "unaffected" humans or view them as bandits/scavengers and leave them to suffer.

To clarify: I wasn't really being serious with my answer, as you can tell the other people on this post have commented very silly plot twists.
Although it does get you thinking, if it did spread to the rest of the world, what is this "disease" exactly? Does Kirkman ever want to tell or maybe he just doesn't know/care to explain and wants to focus on the people it affects and that's it.
Plot Twist: Mike,Bonnie and Arvo are actually sleeper agents of a secret society (Illuminati,Templars,etc.)
It explains why Mike and Bonnie were always "together" in episode 4 and 5.
It is also why Mike had the idea to lead the group to Parkers Run which "triggered" the group's meeting with Arvo
and their eventual standoff
It also explains why in episode 5 they didn't want to bring Clem and AJ with them when they left the group
They left the group because they were going on a secret mission that concerns the interest of the mysterious third party.

Winston Clem is shot, because real Clem would never say a swear.
(I know she has dropped a swear on several occasions but hey, it's all hypothetical up in this comment!)

If you chose to go solo at the end of S2 you get swarmed by zombies in the teaser scene. You get saved by Molly, then after re-uniting with her and explaining the whole sitch about AJ you 3 try to find a community. They eventually find Alexandria Safezone, and BAM! TV Show/Comic crossover. Only thing left is to find a cure. Turns out, Clem is immune to the virus which makes her the key to the cure! Kaboom.
