I'll look forward to it, I'm already depressed/crying just from listening to it. I'd imagine I'm going to be an emotional wreck when I see the video. :P
Yes but he would help from somebody, because he's not just going to float to the edge of the lake and go:
"Woo! That was exciting, let's do that again!"
But yeah, there are ways.

I was going to say I wanted to keep this thread alive but I can see it is still horray!
But I need help, I want to make some more tribute… more videos for Luke and Clementine (or just Luke separate) but I've ran out of songs that I feel goes with them so can anyone help me and give me some ideas for certain songs they think might go with them or that they want to see as a tribute video for them?
Thank youuu:)
Yeah that would be nice thanks, would be a different kind of video for me but I could try, I like experimenting with new things to see if they look good or not:)
so can anyone help me and give me some ideas for certain songs they think might go with them or that they want to see as a tribute video for them?
What about this?
Holy shit o_o I was looking at this clip a couple weeks back and I thought 'is that a head?' I thought I was just seeing too much into it. Do you think it could be a glitch or is there actually somebody there?
I think it's a person, although it does look like Luke's head if you look closely but I don't know. At first I thought it was a plant but the closer I zoomed in the more it looked like a head, so yeah. It could in fact be a person. Luke is saved!!

Well maybe it's another reused model, for example how the Season 1 ending had the shapes on the hill, that were actually just reused models of Ben and Doug if I'm right...I think [somebody posted about it ages ago.]
And honestly, I mistook it for another rock, an odd little rock on another rock XD

Okay I've just finished making it... this is probably the quickest video I've ever made?! It's probably not very good because I made it so fast, that's what I usually think haha:P
Want me to let you know when it's uploaded or will you just keep an eye on your YouTube feed?
Yeah that would be nice thanks, would be a different kind of video for me but I could try, I like experimenting with new things to see if they look good or not:)

I only think he's overrated because so many people like him and I don't see what makes him so 'likeable' to everyone I just think he was a m… moreediocre character. But I get that everyone has their own opinions so yeah:)
This is a nice thread! Aww thanks I think you're nice too:) You could chill here forever, us Luke fans are alright with it or as Luke says; 'I've got no problem with it' :P
You will get used to us quoting him don't worry!;P
Yeah that would be nice thanks, would be a different kind of video for me but I could try, I like experimenting with new things to see if they look good or not:)
Ah yeah this is a good one thank you! It's funny because while I was looking for songs I listened to an Of monsters and men song called silhouettes and I saw this as a related video but I base songs off of the titles so I thought 'eh I doubt this song would match them in any way' but I guess I was wrong! Just goes to show you should never judge a song by its title like you should never judge a book by its cover :P
I was just thinking, what about this song? Think you can make anything out of it? o.o
The song was actually based on the true story of tw… moreo siblings that were seperated after their parents had a nasty divorce can see it through the music video with the siblings in that.
Hey, how ya’ doin’?
Good, that’s good.
If you are wondering why I am responding to your comment it is because I am the person that originally made the hate Luke thread. It wasn’t anything like this though where people just post stuff, it was a literal full rant about why I didn’t like Luke’s character and posted it waiting to see if someone would clear me up on a few things, and they did. Lot of good people on this forum.
So since you missed my post I’ll explain the main issues I had with Luke.
To start off also, yes I am a big Nick fan but that is not the main reason I hated Luke.
The main issue I had with Luke was the lack of development his character had. And it wasn’t just him, it was a huge problem in general for season 2. Even Carver, the big built up baddie voiced by Michael Madsen was anticlimactic. But Luke stood out to me the most for the sole reason that, yes, he was supposed to be a main figure in Season 2. We saw him on cover art, he’s the first new character we meet. He is all around shoved in our face as Clem’s new “protector”. He had a relationship with Clementine like Lee had. The thing is this relationship was instant, Lee and Clem spent time and they learned about each other. People reminded me that Lee and Clem met under different circumstances so they talked like everything would go back to normal, which makes sense so I pretty much let that slide now. But initially what aggravated me about Luke’s character was how quick he is to take Clem’s side back at the cabin. He comes out and tells the others “What is wrong with you people. She’s just scared”. This is right after his hostility towards Clem in the woods. His reaction was completely fine but the way he jumps back to Clem’s side was too instant in my opinion. And because of this I felt that Luke was one of those condescending assholes that take the moral high ground when they are around others. But it was pointed out to me that Luke just saw that Clementine was just scared, but I still get a little thrown off on that scene.
Due to lack of character, I never really cared for Luke like the game was making me try to. Season 2 never gives opportunities to just interact with different characters. All I knew about Luke was that he “Moved on” easily and that was just from Nick’s little monologue. Even though Nick is envy of this attribute and speaks of it positively, I suddenly found myself not trusting Luke. Who wants to invest their time caring about a character who’s not going to give two fucks if you died?
One thing I did like a lot about Luke was the jokes he’d make. But that was probably as far as his development went. Clementine was never really given any reason to trust Luke, but for some reason the game just made it so. I honestly thought that because Nick had so much more development in Ep 1 and 2 than any other character, he probably wasn’t sticking around the whole season. So I thought Luke’s development would be for later use. Episode 3, he isn’t really there. Episode 4, he fucks Jane. Episode 5, dead. He does start to have his downfall and we can clearly see he isn’t coping well, but by this point the writers have already shelved him for Jane so again his development isn’t emphasised on. We learn more about Jane in one episode than we do of Luke in an entire season.
Of course more happens in those episodes but that is basically how you can sum up Luke in the last 3 eps. The one development we do get is what he says during his little party. But people even stated to me, and they were Luke fans, that they thought it was more of a death development rather than a character development. Its sole purpose was to give the player a severe case of sad face when he died because it was his birthday, that’s basically it. I feel like the writing team thought “shit, better add some more to this character before we kill him. Didn’t end up using him the way we planned to because we got Jane now”.
As far as Luke’s interactions with Nick go, I understand that they are grown men. They’re not going to be embracing every second and Nick was probably lucky that he got the one hug.
This is my issue though and it has been pretty well cleared up for me.
It all starts with the scene where they are heading to the mountains. After you find Nick/Pete, Nick will talk to Clem and either thank her or question her about Pete.
The first time I played, I went with Nick. I didn’t really like Nick at that point but I thought it was better to go with him since Pete was bitten. I should also note that I had also lost some respect for Pete on the way to the river when he speaks about Nick, solely because I don’t agree with his tough love take on raising Nick because you can see by Nick’s attitude that it’s not healthy for a child. Getting off track though…
So we found Nick and Nick thanks Clementine. “I’m sorry about Pete” was my response and Nick starts to lag behind, clearly depressed. At that point Luke’s face becomes super angry and that really threw me off. I’m also aspergic so I am pretty sensitive to changes in facial expression. I thought that Luke was being an unnecessary asshole and that helped fuel the fire for my dislike towards him. I didn’t understand why he would react that way when his best friend was in pain.
Later I discovered, and people also pointed out, that this issue has been unintentionally formed due to lazy animation. No matter what you say to Nick, whether you go with him or Pete, Luke will always give that same angry face.
I think I have an explanation for that.
Looking at game choice statistics, the majority of players went with Pete. The writers may have predicted that this would happen due to the way Nick’s character is introduced. I doubt anyone playing the game first time around thought Nick was a cool dude after his death wish upon Clem. So due to most players going with Pete, most players again would have answered the truth to Nick that Pete was “bitten and scared”. This sparks Nick to say “Fuck you” (to Clem) and “Fuck off” (to Luke). This is where Luke’s angry face makes sense. Due to that choice being the majority choice, Luke’s reaction for that response was animated and they didn’t bother to animate any other reactions. It’s hard to justify game characters for issues like these because they are created by these writers that decide these “cutting corner” things. But because overall the angry face seemed out of character, I gave Luke the benefit of the doubt.
In the end, the sex with Jane thing didn’t bother me. I think Luke fans had a bigger issue with it, especially fan girls haha. I was, however, furious that Sarah died because of it. You had ONE job Luke! But this event is a good defining moment of Luke falling apart. For me though, he just seemed rather forced upon the player. He was there, he was the new “Lee” like character and everyone just had to deal with it. I loved Kenny but sometimes I wish he had never returned due to taking the light off the cabin group’s development. Largely Luke’s development. Luke just seemed sad that Clem sided with Kenny, even if not by player choice in the end you are forced to Kenny due to Telltale wanting to distance away from Luke and incorporate Jane.
Because of out of place facial animations and lack of development, I just knew Luke as that “Bi-polar Porridge Guy”.
But now people have cleared up a lot of issues so he’s okay in my books. Luke was just betrayed by the writers in the end.
Kenny: This here’s Walt, he’s one smart sonuvabitch. Makes a mean can of beans too.
Luke walks in *
Clem: This here’s Luke, I don’t know what his intelligence level is but he makes a nice bowl of porridge.
Luke's no where in the same league as Lee, but regardless I came to grow fond of the character over time and was seriously saddened at his death, yet storywise I knew it was necessary to break the group apart.

Personally IMO , I could take him or leave him, he dead now. One thing that really annoyed me about him is how he dropped Clementine in ep… moreisode 1, how he was such a jerk in the opening part, then his attitude changes, fine. Where was Luke during the shootout at the lodge? i think he ran away. Kenny was right about Luke, even with the best intentions, he couldn't counted on. He proved it over and over again, at least twice that i know of;
That is what his little speech was about, the guilt he was feeling because he knew he should of been there during the shootout with carver, and other failures he did. Maybe he got scared and sent Nick out to find help, even knowing he was wounded. I don't believe he is as flawless as people say he is.
Why would Nick go out for help when he is suffering from a bullet wound. These are questions that were never asked, but after his little guilt speech, i figured it out.
I'm not saying Luke was a bad guy, but he i wouldn't relay on him to be my group leader.
Like I said, many of the issues sparked unintentionally from lazy animation and just completely cutting him out for a discount Molly character.
They had so much potential for Luke and unfortunately the fans never got to see it.
I just have to do a PEA paragraph on Luke because I've done too many English assessments. Here's the question:
How is Luke shown to be an interesting character through the theme of anger?
Luke is a particular good character although there are times that he can get angry beyond his control. The is evident when he says, "...but y'know what? Jane, she made an offer and... Jesus Christ, I needed it, okay? I mean, look around you, okay? Everything is SHIT. So forgive for wantin' to enjoy ONE MOMENT of somethin' else!" This suggests or rather shows how Luke has a temper making him a more interesting character compared to the nice guy he is always perceived to be. The word 'SHIT' is in capital letters showing its emphasis and that it has been shouted showing Luke's anger towards the situation. The phrase 'ONE MOMENT' is also in capital letters, making it clear that he has shouted the word but it suggests that he never gets time/a moment to enjoy anything because he's always the one that bottles everything up and never talks about his feelings, so when he does through the theme of anger it makes him more interesting and more diverse. His temper and anger is shown again when he says, "Why didn't you wait for a signal?". This shows how Luke is angry at Nick for popping out of nowhere and shooting a man, it suggests that Luke will and can clearly become angry at anyone who hurts/kills another human (also shown when Kenny kills Carver) this therefore suggests how Luke has morals and his anger highlights these morals, making him an interesting character.
In conclusion Luke can be shown to be interesting through the use of the theme of anger. He gets angry at simple things that in any other world would be seen as normal but in an apocalyptic world most people no longer think the same way Luke does, this alone makes him an interesting character. The use of the theme anger promotes this as and overall makes Luke interesting.
Sorry about that, I had to get that off my chest. :P
Comments
Haha hopefully;)
It isn't turning out like that at the moment :S hopefully it will get better!
Yeah @Kateis showed me a photo where it looked like there was a figure hiding in the rocks so maybe that's a person who will help?
Here's the picture Simply is talking about. It's the rock that's the furthest back.
Hop... hopefully?
But yeah your videos always kill me, the feels always hit no matter what I do so yeah...
What about this?
Yeah that would be nice thanks, would be a different kind of video for me but I could try, I like experimenting with new things to see if they look good or not:)

Cool, well already nice to try something new
This was always the Luke theme song to me, I don't know why;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnxPKY7NSoM
a lot of people liked him because he's extremely relatable
I was just thinking, what about this song? Think you can make anything out of it? o.o

Ah yes the lyrics seem to match him, thank you!:)

I am glad someone agrees, you are welcome. :33

Sing for Absolution - Muse
Thank you:D
It's Luke's evil twin! They have exactly the same weapons because why not? He's there to save him! Oh god... I need a hobby. XD
The real Luke was hiding behind the rocks, his doppleganger crossed the ice, meaning the real Luke survived and his doppleganger died!:D
oh. ok. I can see where the disappointment comes from.
We have no reason to miss Luke because he's not even dead.
Right?
Right??
RIGHT???
RIGHT????
RIGHT?????
RIGHT??????
ALL OF THEM
IF I DON'T GET MY FUCKING LUKE BACK I WILL CUT A BITCH
I will eat your soul, don't put it past me, I am a ginger, I can do that.
Sleep with one eye open.
Pulls out machete
Although that one eye probably won't help you much

Yeah that's right!
Don't worry, Ercajayme.
REAAAAALISM WILL SAVE HIM LIKE IT SAVED KENNY
Come on, Kenny needed more realism than Luke does. Therefore, Luke will survive.
shakes violently
Telltale plz...
Even better he saved his twin as well.
That's actually really funny
Everyone makes mistakes.
I have to vent some stuff guys.

Sorry about that, I had to get that off my chest. :P
I'll comment on the thread everyday to keep it alive.
