From a personal view I absolutely hope not. From an unbiased POV I think killing Clementine would undermine the whole concept Telltale are trying to get across. They aren't showing where Clementine's story starts and ends, they are telling the story of how one survivor overcame all odds from zombie, human, and natural dangers in the world. Despite her age, its her strength, intelligence, and spirit that is responsible for her survival and I think killing her is not on Telltale's overall plan for The Walking Dead.

In all honesty, I could see it going both ways

Either they'll find a way to end her story without having to kill her, or they'll kill her at some point. Regardless of which way it goes, I don't see it happening soon.

While there is an overwhelming possibility that it might happen, it would seem like too much of a rehash of Season 1. People complain (not me, but some) that No Going Back tried to be too much like No Time Left and, as a result, led to deaths and moments that were more for shock value than emotional affect. And since some (again, not me, but others) no longer have the strong attachment to Clem's character, if they were to kill her, you'd have some that just wouldn't care at all. With Lee's death, it felt like a satisfying end because it was our mission to protect and rescue Clem, and since we accomplished that goal, it made his death much more meaningful. If Clem were to die, we just wasted 3 (assuming it ends at 3) seasons watching her grow and become a survivor just for her to die, it doesn't feel rewarding at all. So I think that it'd be best for Telltale to end her story with finally finding a safe place or a sanctuary and give her a happy ending instead of killing her off like they did with Lee. But if they do end up killing her, and I am not afraid to say this, I will cry, and way more than when Lee died, her death will destroy me emotionally.

So much this! I feel like the game IS Clementine, and while im open to other POV characters in DLCs, i think that there is so much potential in Clems story that they should stick with it for a while. It can only get better!

  • Yeah if they kill her now it'll be a waste. Yes the walking dead is supposed to emphasize realism, but it's still a game and as such players want to feel as though they accomplished their main objective

  • Technically we are witnessing Clementine's story, so yes I think they could kill her. If they continue with more seasons without her will I play? Of course, as long as it is still good.

  • Yeah and i would cry too myself.

  • I don't wanna be the person who is really arrogant and is like "NO THEY WON'T BECAUSE I DON'T WANT THEM TOO." Because honestly no one wants to see that, but in saying that I don't want them to kill off Clementine for a couple of reasons.

    1. Clementine was the one who actually got me hooked on The Walking Dead Game in the first place, yes it was because of the connection between Clementine and Lee but Clem was the one who made that connection just as much as Lee did.
    2. Clementine was/is the face of The Walking Dead Game, an 11 year old girl fighting her way throughout the zombie apocalypse and trying to make friends whilist doing it, yes it may seem a bit unreal at some times (S2 Ep2 I'm looking at you with the turbine... And the door in S2 Ep4..) but that doesn't change the fact of, it has never been about just trying to survive in the ZA as Clementine it's about the connections she has made and is trying to make while the ZA is taking place.
    3. A lot of people look at Clementine being the savior of Telltale and have said many times that if they had killed Clementine in season 1 then they would have stopped playing, including Pewdiepie, Cryaotic and even me. Yes some of them had the reason of "it's because she is so cute... blah blah" and that was a perk to have such a cute innocent little girl to protect but majority of them said that as much as it would make sense for her to die because she is such a young age and shouldn't be able to do the things that she does in the ZA she is the goal for TWDG and always has been the objective/goal for it.

I know this was a little bit of a long comment and it wasn't answering the original question of the thread. Do I think they will kill off Clementine in later seasons, yes I think they will maybe not in season 3 but if they make more seasons down the road, like season 4/5 etc then yes I do think they will kill her off eventually. Sorry for the long as fuck comment again but yeah I like to type. Have a good one :)

  • I hope not, but Telltale is not afraid to kill her off (non-cannon deaths).

  • I think they will if they decide to end making The Walking Dead game. It would not make much business sense to do so though, so it is not very likely for now, but certainly possible.

  • They will get as-salted by fans...

  • They said they would in the last interview i read,

Someone asked About Clementine immortality, and they said something like "everybody dies." Very Vague. I'm pretty much hoping she is just written out of the story. I'm fine with Kenny/Clementine or whatever living their lives happily ever after.

    Sorry what did you say?

But seriously, It is a chance, I do think that if she is in season 3 and onward that they won't show it, But it will be implied maybe in the comics or if they choose a new character for the game, But then again, Hopefully not.

  • It was the same article they released when TTG made fun of Sarah with Greg Miller, i'd have to look for it. I'm sure someone here knows where it is.
