Clementine's older brother (Thoughts)

It was at first thought that instead of Lee it would be Clementine and her older brother in the ZA. I'm glad they used Lee and created his road to morality but I've always be interested in what would happen. I think the bond would be stronger due to him being her brother.

  • That would have been interesting, I'm curious if they would have made the brother the playable character instead of Lee. Also imagine if instead of cutting the brother, they cut Clementine and just made Lee take care of a younger boy. Imagine how different everything would be lol

  • Yeah that would have been pretty interesting. The bond probably would have been stronger as well. Lee taking care of the older brother would have probably made it easier on him.

  • It would feel way more forced if he was her brother, she would forever be Lee's sister not her own character

I'm glad they didn't, I mean I'm sure it could've worked, but I think what they ended up with in Season 1 between Lee and Clementine was really good and more memorable. You just buy into the fact these two are family as if Clem is Lee's daughter that he only just found out about and learned to look out for in those months. They worked much better as father and daughter in my eyes and I'm happy with that.

I thought with Season 2 they were gonna do the older brother thing with Luke, especially after Episode 2 because....aaah, he just so came off as this older brother to me in their interactions, that were just different to how Clem interacted with characters like Nick for example who came across as your older friend. It was kinda like with Kenny too where you got the uncle thing going there and just ;_; meep. Okay they went overboard with Kenny a bit, but you can't deny you DIDN'T hug him that first time he came back.

Actually, I think the interview where they mentioned the scrapped brother/sister concept for Season 1 they said that the main protagonist was supposed to be in his 20's with a younger sis about Clem's age, so, it would add up, and perhaps another reason why I got attached to that because I was thinking 'hey at least they introduced it here instead of the idea being shelved; clearly they are going to do something really good with this and not replace anybody with random leather boobs last minute just to ruin it and reduce any character's roles into nothing but useless eye candy, never to be developed. Yep, they are so going to do wonders with this, just like they're doing with Kenny and Clem! Boy I can't wait for the rest of the season!'

And family bonds are strong, but I think the ones between a parent and their child is especially so, because you know parents would do anything to protect their kids [unless they're total assholes but yeah]. Doesn't mean that isn't the same for siblings, but it is different kind of love since with parents they brought them into the world and raised them. Ah I don't know how to explain it better, but in my opinion, Lee taking on the role of the parent and Clem the child, it was a good choice.

  • the bond would have been less to me, because it would make you feel like you had to care and not gradually care

Wait, Clementine has an older brother? ...This was something they were planning on doing and then just didn't go through with it? Can I see proof of this, I've never heard of that before. .-.

  • I thought the were going the older brother route with Luke too. He seemed like the cool older brother that would support you and let you take risks, even if some of those risks aren't really the best idea (bridge, anyone?).

While that is a very intriguing thought, it's a bit to late now.

  • It never happend.

    deal with it.

  • They were originally going to use Clementine's older brother instead of Lee. Kind of wish that happened, but on the other hand, I don't.

That would be cool if they made a remake of Season 1 but instead of having Lee as protagonist we're Clem's brother.

I have a phobia of people in random leather boots showing up in things last minute to destroy sibling dynamics...
-_- It's the ONE thing I truly fear.

  • If he was the same kind of character as Clem, I imagine the result would be the same.
