Lost Save Files (PC - Steam)
Hey all
After downloading Episode 2 for AGOT, all of my save files disappeared. I am playing on a Windows 8 PC via Steam, and I didn't have a TellTale account when I originally played it- in fact I made the account just now to try to solve the problem. Is there any way I can get my saves back, or do I have to replay the game?

Same with me, although I have Windows 7. I've started a new playthrough on save 1, so I guess that playthrough is lost anyway. Shame on you Telltale for messing up big time.
What the fuck telltale. The same happened to me just now. Not formatted, nothing done with my computer. It is the same when i played episode 2. Please find a solution or give us a refund. This is the 2nd time it happens. First i needed to replay episode 1. I am not going to replay 1 and 2. Better have a refund.
If you are playing the Steam version of the game, please make sure that Steam has downloaded and installed the critical update necessary for playing Episode 2, and the game should update and you will be able to see your save files in-game. After the update download, you may need to restart Steam and/or restart your computer for the update to take effect.
Anyone able to upload their save files somewhere, or know where one might download them?
Had Exactly the same problem just now after downloading episode 3. All Updated, restarted the game, steam and my PC - Nothing but empty save files, this has happened on every Telltale game I've ever played, PC or Xbox 360. Is there a way to sign out of my Telltale account in game?
I had a similar problem with Episodes 1 and 2 whereby it would never register me having completed the Last Chapter in either Episode.
Please help, I'm really enjoying this game but the thought of having to replay roughly 2 hours of game-play is really putting me off, especially if the same thing might just happen again.
My apologies, please read this Sticky on how to run our Support Tool, and follow the steps to run the tool, and reply here with the download link copied and pasted into a reply. You can find the Sticky here:

Same Problem.
Went to go play episodes 2 and 3 and my two save files from episode 1 were gone. I use Steam on a Windows 7 PC and the game is up to date. I tried downloading the patch for episode 2 just in case that had anything to do with it, but it said "Game of Thrones was not found on your system".

If you are playing the game on Steam, you should not need to download and install the patch, as Steam will auto-update your game for you. After looking over your Support Tool information, there doesn't seem to be any save files in your save file directory. Can you please clarify if you ever moved/altered your file directory in any way? Also, did you recently play through Episode 1, or did you play through it when it first released?
I've never messed around with my file directory.
I played through the first episode when it was first released.
I don't really mind replaying through 1 episode, I just don't want this to happen again when episode 4 comes out. Replaying one episode is not a big deal, replaying three will be really annoying.
Same here, I lost my save files. I did Episode 1 and 2 and wanted to start Episode 3 today but my save files are lost... I didn't touch anything at all, I'm using Steam as well and never had any problem until now. I did the support tool thingy: https://www.sendspace.com/file/sr4hya and am expecting a quick fix for this issue please.
PS: fixed, I was just being dumb sorry
I had moved my saves somehow... Works fine now^^

Viola! Merci.
Thank you for providing the extra information on how you were able to resolve your issue.
After looking over your Support Tool information, I can't seem to find any save files in your save file directory. Can you please clarify if you ever moved/altered the save file directory in \Documents\Telltale Games\Game of Thrones\? Also, did you ever uninstall and re-install the game?
Unfortunately I would have to recommend starting a new game, as there does not appear to be any save files in the proper location. This issue should not occur again in the future, and I apologize for any difficulties this causes you.
Nope, never did anything to the files or un-installed the game, played the Episodes pretty much as soon I got them each installed and updated (apart from 3, for the reasons discussed). Hell, the last time I even started up the game was to play episode 2 when it came out and I even double checked all the save slots In-game (again, as this isn't the first time this has happened on a Telltale game) - they were all there and up to date.
Could you give me an example of how a save file would be named so I can do a search of my local disk? (just in case I'm wrong about misplacing the files).
My saves disappeared out of NOWHERE. I played 75% of Episode 3 then exited it to take a break. Next time I opened the game it only had the option of "Begin Episode" like this: http://devup.me/up/LLPteCnG.jpg and when I try to click "Rewind" and choose a scene it bugs out and freezes.
But when I click the "My Choices" tab I still see all the choices I made before: http://devup.me/up/k2pq2AAA.jpg including the season 3 choices that I made before exiting: http://devup.me/up/mVqhgTQf.png
Here is the GOT_support_data_pc.zip that was generated: http://devup.me/up/bmQxWFVS.zip
This is really lame. All my episode 1/2 data is gone. I don't want to redo everything and I was almost done with episode 3.
Exactly what happens to me!
Your save files for Game of Thrones should be named '_saveslot1_checkpoint1.bundle', then each one after that will count in numerical order (checkpoint2, 3, and so on). Please do a search for .bundle, or the entire file name, and see if you can find the save files in a location on your computer.
Ok, I've found a whole load (the most recent being '_saveslot1_checkpoint12.bundle') and they're all in \Documents\Telltale Games\Game of thrones. Is this were they should be?
Yes that is the file path, but unfortunately I am not seeing them from your Support Tool information in your local C:\ drive. Can you please clarify if you are using a secondary drive to play the game from?
Not that I'm aware of.
Can you please clarify what the file directory is before \Documents\ in the directory where you found your save files? When you click on the bar at the top, does it say C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents, or does it say something different?
Yes, the file directory before documents is indeed my name. C:\Users\MYNAME\Documents\
What are those save files named? Are they named '_saveslot1_checkpoint1.bundle'?
Yes
Ok now this is weird, didn't change a thing but a save file showed up In-game when I checked to see if the game had fixed itself - but the choices were all different when I continued on (E.g left Tom Behind when I didn't). Seriously confused now.
If you were to ever start the episode after your save files stopped registering, a new save file may have been created after you experienced the issue, and this would possibly be what you are seeing in-game. Unfortunately it appears that you have tried all of my suggestions, and I am out of potential solutions to resolve your issue. I recommend either contacting/emailing our Support Staff at Support@Telltalegames.com for further assistance, or you can delete your save files from your save file directory, and start a new game. Again, my apologies I was not able to assist you further with your issue.
Ok well, thanks for trying anyway.
I am also having the same problem as others. I can't continue my game due to my save data and of course all my choices are gone . I have almost done episode three . So, i believe you are able to fix it. Btw, how can i send you my save data through this site ?
If you are able to send us your save file directory, please copy the 'Game of Thrones' folder located here:
C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Telltale Games\
and paste that folder on your Desktop, then zip it into a .zip file, and upload that .zip file to a File Hosting Website, and copy and paste the download link to your file in either a reply here, or a private message to me. (To start a Private Discussion, click on a Username, and click on Private Discussion on the left hand side of the user's profile page.)
here is my save data link : GOT_support_data_pc (1).zip
My apologies, unfortunately that is not a download link to the file. The download link that you can find on Sendspace (if you used that file hosting website) would look like the one below:
Example: https://www.sendspace.com/file/abc123
You should be able to find it on Sendspace after you have uploaded the file.
Hi - just downloaded episode 3 and ALL my saves have been deleted. I signed up for a telltale account and a signed in. Dont feel like starting again - the same thing happend when i downloaded episode 2. Playing on a samsung tablet so all the above dont apply to me.
Could you please clarify which Samsung tablet in particular your are playing on, and which Android OS version it is currently updated to? Also, can you still see your save files in-game and are unable to use them, or do you not see any of your save files in-game? Please also make sure that you have Updated the Game to the latest version
Galaxy tab s, android 4.4.2. And i see none of the save files in the game at all. It is like i have just downloaded it. I was signed in with my telltale account while playing and also now, when i cant see the save files.
Many thanks for your swift response.
And yes it was updated to the latest version
Can you please clarify if you delete your newly downloaded Episode 3, are you then able to see your save files again in-game? Or do they still not show up? Also, could you please clarify how many save slots you were using at the time of downloading Episode 3?
Hi, if anyone can help me please?
I couldn't open the game, when it said 'click anywhere to begin' it just turned black, but I could still move the cursor. I was told that re-installing the game might help, so I did, but now all my savefiles are lost. Telltale, if anyone is there can you please help?
I did the support thingy:
