The Walking Dead Season Finale (TV Series)
Anyone find there are some parallels between the 5th season finale and the 2nd season finale?
Glen's showdown with Nick in the woods - Rick's showdown with Shane (next to the woods)
Alexandria group deciding on the fate of what to do with Rick - Rick's group deciding on the fate of what to do with Randall
Plus I think the lone fact that Rick is showing his inner Shane is another sorta-kinda parallel?
I might be just pulling at strings here, but I found it quite interesting. If anyone can see more parallels between the two finales, post them here!

Actually, the 2nd season finale was about the herd attack and the group getting back together afterwards. You're thinking of the penultimate episode of season 2, "Better Angels".
That said, it makes sense, as there were quite a few allusions one could make to the first two seasons throughout this one, given this whole season was very much about coming back to the old life. Rick finds himself on the opposite end of the whole Shane dilemma with Pete and Jessie, they go back to Atlanta, Rick's experience as a cop comes into play numerous times, Daryl becomes an outsider again (he was as sociable with the group as he could be in seasons 3 and 4), Rick is back to trying to follow someone else's authority (Deanna like Hershel before her) and risks getting thrown out again (only this time he's doing it himself, not cleaning up after Shane), and of course, the Alexandria episodes were very likely named after Dale's Faulkner reference in the first season.
I definitely found the scene where Rick puts his hand on his gun after Jessie and Pete walk by and Jessie waves to be reminiscent of when Shane pointed his gun at Rick (and Dale catches him)...Rick's gesture in Alexandria was much more subtle, however; He wasn't quite there yet
Oops, my bad! Those are really interesting observations, I like the point you made about Rick being on the opposite end of the Shane dilemma. It's definitely strange seeing how alike Rick is to Shane in this season. I feel that Rick is now in the mentality that Shane was back in season 2. Shane was ahead of his time in his way of thinking, but that obviously doesn't dismiss how insane he was at the same time.
I'm sure, knowing what the writers are like for The Walking Dead that these similarities were probably intentional.
