Why isn't the S2 writing team on anymore?
I've seen Mark Darin a couple times but thats it really. I had a thread where people were talking about them not being on because people were overly rude and negative and even when thats true in a lot of cases it still shouldn't mean staying off the site the whole time. They're professionals they can block the hate out. An example is when SEGA put out Sonic 06 and it received hate and almost universal panning for being one of the biggest stinkiest fuck ton piece of shit in all of gaming they didn't cut connections with fans who didn't like it. I know the writing team are busy people but they could show up every once and a while. People are saying they've been bullied out of their own thread which if they really were is pretty pathetic.

Telltale staff overall isn't as active on the forums as they used to, not just for TWD. The only ones I see are Arthur Von Nagel in GOT and, occasionally, Eric Stirpe, mainly for TFTBL, but I've seen him every now and then visit TWD and TWAU sections. I doubt the reason they don't show up is because they were "bullied" out of their own forums, Telltale staff are not required to visit these forums and interact with fans and are probably busy with their other games. Pierre Shorette is the main writer for TFTBL, Nick Breckon is busy with developing Season 3 most likely, Andrew Grant is the main guy for GOT, Stirpe is developing Minecraft, so it's understandable why they don't visit.
Busy people working on the projects that we have all come to enjoy. I'm sure they would rather work than deal with a bunch of whiney kids hurling insults at their stories. This part of the forums have become a little toxic for anyone to enjoy anymore. Still we have other TT staff on the other sections who interact and keep us informed.
I think it's just that they're busy on a lot of projects at the moment like DoubleJump said. They've all got a lot going on with the super show and a bunch of other series, so I'd assume that's why they've not been on so much...although, if we did scare them off...
We're sorry, we didn't mean it! ;_;
Telltale have never been at all active in the time I've been on the forum; nearly two years.
Thats not a good thing and I've seen them active
They've never been nearly as active as, for example, Bioware employees on their forum, that I can remember.
Blizzard is pretty active
Telltale were much more active on the forums up until 2010-2012, I think?
That doesn't change the fact that they should
TTG should of done a lot of things, but didn't.
It might be because of the hate they got from season 2?
Back when they were criticised less, I sense.
Hate to be blunt, but maybe, just maybe if they were to interact more with the people that buy their games ( us ) they wouldn't receive hate.
I would say 'hate' is too strong a word anyway. Yes there has been heavy criticism of Season Two, but nothing that couldn't have been salvaged if telltale had of listened a bit more.
For example, while we were waiting for the now infamous Amid The Ruins, some of the ideas that forum members had were absolutely brilliant. Much, much better than the rubbish we eventually had. Personally, I liked the idea of Clementine joining a cult, but there were loads of theory's flying around.
My point is they shouldn't be pushed away by that
They are probably busy working on Game of Thrones and Tales, which means they are mainly gonna stick to that part of the forums. I've seen one of the Thrones dev check in on that section a lot, (haven't for Tales though, other than when I saw Job come on once to address the wait).
We have a winner here. QFT.
TTG makes zero attempt in having a community. Other than the community mods, who posts here? What is funny is i made a similar post like this, i don't know maybe six months ago.
FTFY
Btw, The Walking Dead: The Game came out in 2012, and that's when TellTale became well known and received all the praise. As a result, they have put out more and more content, releasing 4 seasons (2 being in session) and a DLC since then. They also have 2 named and 2 unnamed projects slated for release in the future. Considering that TellTale (in most circles) is still considered a "small" company, that's pretty ambitious.
Considering that we are currently in a time period where TellTale can explode and become a major video game developer for the long run or fall off the map withing the next couple of years depending on how they do with the next future projects, I say we be patient with them as they grow, be honest with our thoughts, but also, be encouraging. TWD side of the forum didn't become as toxic as it was until after Season 2 Episode 3. The fan hate actually affect the remaining 2 episode to the point where I could enjoy it like I would have liked it, flaws and all. Let us not get so "hurt" that we ruin other people's experiences with our own selfishness.
Lastly, this is entertainment. This is also the internet. Please calm down. It is not that serious. People seem so ambitious online when they don't have to encounter the people they criticize. Relax. If this one developer's actions is enough to ruin your day or to spend hours on the forum to gather misery around a bonfire to sing Kumbaya, then I suggest reevaluation some priorities. Let's have fun on here... The TWD section of the forums... for once... again.
Get it? Got it. It's all good. Peace!
If they posted here, most people would probably be a lost less critical. If they actually acted like they took our suggestions, comments, ideas to heart it would make all the difference in the world, but they choose to remain silent because they either do not care, or are weak.
All fired, hopefully.
I thought you liked some of them? Even the people who did the animation/graphics etc that looked much better than season 2
I dont really remember seeing anyone here during season 2. They show up in the other sections though so I guess it depends on the team
hrm , maybe just to promote the new series.
Damn i didn't know animators also do the job of writing.
So with the exception of J.T. Petty, who never worked at Telltale to begin with, they are all still working at Telltale.
EDIT: I forgot to list the designers, who also have a big parrt in the writing of every episode.
The only one that doesn't work at Telltale anymore is Harrison Pink, who left Telltale and now works at 2K Games now I believe
I'm 100% sure that if TellTale staff were more active on the forums, people would be complaining that they are spending too much time talking to people when they should be making The Walking Dead: Season 3 or a The Wolf Among Us sequel. It's a total "damned if you do, damned if you don't" type of scenario. Shoot, I'm 100% sure that if TellTale had made TWD:S3 and TWAU:S2 in place of TFTBL and GOT, people would complain about TellTale rehashing sequels instead of bringing in new franchises. I saw people complaining about TellTale making their games too dark and adult. Guess what happened when Minecraft: Story Mode got announced: people complained about TellTale making a "kids" game. I'm going to stop here before the pity parade comes and argues with me. I'll see you all around.
