Why are they called walkers?
So I re-read the comics and damn they call the zombies, zombies about 20 times. Lori,Glenn,Rick,Dale,Hershel,and about everybody else called them zombies!

cuz walkers sounds kewl
Cause zombies don't exist in The Walking Dead universe the same way they do in ours.
Plus he even points out how weird it is to say. Walkers walk.=, I think in that same issue, Rick points out two roamers (name called), who well roam, lurkers lurk, etc.
Why would rick say "It was a while before we could say it with a straight face" I mean that sounds like they know what zombies are before the outbreak

Kirkman sums it up, but works like 'Night of the Living Dead' were never made so the 'zombie' we know today doesn't exist in the same way as it does in their universe.
They barely say zombie in the comics. I'd probably can count with my fingers how many times it's said.
