He tried to.
They just didn't listen, least in my game.
He was a bit busy getting kicked around and theres no way they would've believed him anyway.
What bothered me is that, after the fight, they didn't take the coats off of those wildlings. It'd have kept them warm AND made them look less like crows. Guess the cold North of the Wall is totally manageable in just a tunic.
He should have said that he is a wilding and was sentenced to the wall, instead "I'm one of YOU"
