A long lasting villain for season 3?
I thought that Carver would last the whole season and really make life hell for the group. But instead he was killed off the next episode and went from an interesting character to a generic 'bad guy'. What I think would be great and interesting is if we would get a villain that is on the same level as Negan from the comics. That would make for a really interesting season and a lot of intense moments for the group. What do you think? Big villain for season 3 or no?

I'm all for the idea, I thought carver would have more of an impact this season. The cabin group made him sound that way, the storyline between him, Rebecca, and Alvin sounded interesting, but carver and Rebecca rarely interact and I wanted to see where the story would go, but it was wasted way to quickly.
I agree that there should be a long lasting antagonist.
I was disappointed with Carver too
A long lasting antagonist could give the Telltale series a new spin. So far we've had both seasons focused on finding shelter, or just plain surviving.
I do think they should try to do something diferent, instead of another Negan. We have yet to see a morally grey character in TWD. (Don't quote me on that =p)
My theory is that TT is going for Alexandria story arc in the season 3. Think about it season one was about survival, season two was Woodbury and in the end TT introduced Wellington.
You could say Nate is a "Morally grey character" he did do morally questionable things but in my opinion he was a good guy.
I'd prefer a long lasting anything. Clementine just walks around like a plague, anyone she meets is instantly doomed to die
Maybe I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this, but I think that if we're playing as a new character, Clementine could totally be the villian. I mean, look at everything she has gone through. If you were Clementine, wouldn't that make you go insane? Losing everyone you love, seeing horrible and disgusting things, and all of this while you're still just an 11 y/o child? Clementine is not an emotionless, untouchable zombie killer, she's human and all of that stuff that she's been through is gonna leave some serious emotional damage, especially because children are more sensitive to trauma. All of this would make Clementine think that the world is evil and merciless and in order to survive, she has to be as evil and merciless too, which would make her a perfect villian. This is of course really different from how we used to know her but it wouldn't be impossible, considering she has seen some horrible things.
Its funny, I try to predict who dies first. Its my own little game i made for when i play these games.
Nate isn't a villain just a pervert.
I actually have an Alternate Canon save where I intentionally play Clementine to eventually become "Too far gone" it's really interesting.
If she was the villain it would make me hesitant to kill her. That's a good villain right there
Exactly. If Telltale wants a new playable character AND a long lasting villian, Clem would be perfect.
Woah I'm gonna do that too, especially since I have 2 months of vacation left and basically no life lol.
What's great about my Alternate Canon save is I had Lee say "Shooting people changes you" and I had Clem shoot two different people the stranger and Kenny (after he had killed Jane)
I'm honestly really hoping that's the route they go for season 3 it's becoming stale just having the whole story just about the group on the road and searching for a safe place. I want season 3 to be life in the safe place with a few twists and turns. That for me would be a fantastic "new angle" for season 3!
Meh, heroes have gone through worse.
I'd rather have a story centered around a community rather than another aimless 'adventure' plot.
Exactly!
I like this idea of a Grey character that is neither evil or neither bad, and speaks in a way that you cant define if hes a good or bad guy (Like G-Man from Half Life Series)
Yeah, someone like Negan but more insane and kills people without that main character plot card to save in the nick of time.
There is not a single bit of grayness to shooting the old couple who were disarmed and now revealed to be people who were defending themselves against a perceived threat. And hell, even if you want to argue that point, there is little defensible about smiling about the prospect of murder, and then shrugging off the act with a "Hell yeah, look at all these supplies we can loot!" The only possible defense I've seen people put up is that Nate says and does these things as defenses to hide his pain, a notion that has zilch in the way of evidence or clues.
The deplorable acts one commits to stay alive are secondary to the intent and how one perceives the act and themselves when it comes to the moral struggle. That's the dividing line.
I'd say the Stranger was quite morally gray. He just wasn't as focused upon as other "main villains". Like he said, he wasn't some cannibal in the woods or some bandit. He was neither evil nor good. He was a broken man who wanted to care for and protect a little girl for all the wrong reasons.
Lee cared for Clementine to give her a family she needed. The Stranger wanted to care for her to give himself a family that he needed. Not exactly on the level of eating and/or robbing and murdering innocent people, but also nowhere near good.
I actually thought that Carver would be a long lasting villain too.
A guy that keeps tracking you down, you never know when he's gonna strike. That would've been interesting, but hey-you-know wasted....
I was hoping for Carver to be a long lasting one but he didn't. Let's hope next season there is one.
If someone shot at me during the ZA, they would end up the same way. Take it for what its worth.
The sad part about that: it's totally true t.t
Even if it turned out to be a case of mistaken identity (which it possibly wasn't in the game) and they begged you to leave them alone afterwards? If so, then your sense of morality is well and truly fucked. shrug Take that for what it's worth.
i got PTSD, if i don't know you personally, i have a hard time , being normal i guess. . I wouldn't kill them, but i would take their guns/ and if Nate wanted to kill them, i wouldn't care either way.
I hope S3 is so bad, it's good like Resident Evil, or Fatal Frame.
