Two Sides of the Same Coin
There a lot of people who like/dislike Kenny or Jane for various reasons and each 'team' claims that Kenny or Jane is better...but the way I've always seen it is that Jane and Kenny are really two sides of the same coin. Each character is ruthless and cunning in their own way, and both have a humane side. It really just depends on which type of ruthlessness and cunning you think is the better influence b/c like Luke tells Clem, part of staying alive is choosing the right sides (allies).
Now, Jane is calm, calculating and manipulative and resourceful...which can be great attributes for surviving, but how trustworthy is a person like this in the long run? Jane manipulates Clementine into hurting someone who cares about her
Kenny, on the other hand, is hot headed and stubborn, but will go to the ends of the earth to protect the people he considers family. He may be impulsive, which can be deadly for all those involved, but if he doesn't like something, he's not going to beat around the bush...he's going to tell you straight up how he feels
Both have their pros and cons. You can see this in the way they die....if Kenny dies, it was ultimately his impulsiveness and stubbornness that led to his demise...with Jane...her manipulativeness is what leads to her untimely death...one is not better than the other

This is why I chose the alone ending I didn't know who was worse. Clementine is better off by not being overshadowed by a conflict between two melodramatic characters
I agree with you 100%. But by the end of the game, I just wanted to get away from both of them. So my Clem is on her own.
That's how I feel about Kenny and Lily, actually. But he and Jane aren't too far off either I guess.
Agreed, 100%. I want Clem to start fresh.
Neither is better then either though.
I'd have to disagree. I think choosing either one is better and more realistic than having an 11 yr old take off with a newborn in the dead of winter...alone
yes the alone ending is badass, but come on...not gonna happen
there have been numerous debates on how many unrealistic things Clementine does in S2, but her going off alone with a newborn takes the cake
well that's actually never going to happen unless she stays completely alone for the rest of her life...survival is a mutual endeavor and being alone will only get you so far
This is how you quoted my statement.
That wasn't my full statement. This is my full statement.
Please look at the last four words of my statement. I wasn't saying that Clem should not be overshadowed by every conflict. I was saying that she shouldn't be overshadowed by a conflict which i perceive generates nothing but cheap emotional shock to the audience. The fight between those two characters in my opinion was ridiculous. It was like watching a episode of Real Housewives. I did not complain when Clem was overshadowed by the conflict between the cabin group and Carver. That conflict was a matter of survival. The Kenny/Jane conflict wasn't really a fight about survival but paranoia. It could of been easily avoided if both Kenny and Jane chilled the fuck out.
The point of my original statement and my paragraph is that Clem should not be overshadowed by a conflict that is both petty and pointless
OMG?! that WASN"T the full statement?
yeah, I'm fully aware of that....I quoted the bit that needed to be quoted....i left out the fatty tissue that's not relevant
whether it's Kenny or Jane...it doesn't matter...Clementine's always going to be caught in between the arguings of a douchebag and a terd or multiple douchbags and terds...how else are they going to make the story interesting? b/c it's not really about fighting zombies...yes, zombies are part of it...but it's really about how the human psyche is affected by something like that and how people change and interact with one another...TWD is about emotional thrills and kills
paranoia would play a HUGE role in how people behave and interact with one another...look at how Shane and Rick's relationship ended...in the TV show when they got to Alexandria...Rick went ape shit on Pete due to paranoia and instigation...living in a world where you could die at any moment would make anyone paranoid
i consider Jane a sociopath, and Kenny a Psychopath.
So i guess in that sense, yeah you probably right.
People can hate or love either character
That's actually 0% of the reason I actually chose it. I genuinely believe Clementine will be more safe with herself (hopefully finding a new group soon enough) rather then being with either Kenny or Jane, hell they nearly killed her during the fight with how many times they shoved her around.
Also, having a little girl trying to raise a newborn baby in a zombie apocalypse sounds more interesting.
Yes, it'd be interesting, but when people are complaining that Clementine turned off a wind turbine by herself I don't see how she can just take off with a baby alone and that be OK
TEAMJANEFOREVER
Doesn't make either one better than the other.
you're 100% correct
luke master race everyone
all the rest suck
go luke
Luke was so bad and bland as a character I thought his name was Sonic 06.
LOL
Jesus Christ it's like you can't love a character on this forum
Not on my watch. The only character that is acceptable to love is Chet.
shet is my fav character too
Negativity has been plaguing this forum for a while. Criticism and analysis of characters has turned into nitpicking. A lot of people; even me have been contributing to the negativity machine. Factor? Probably since everyone has been bored for the past year over the wait for season 3 it's been driving many people (even me) crazy.
Nope, TWAU forums has almost none of this negativity and hate, it's just TWD that gets this, I honestly think it's mostly because people like to compare season 1 and season 2 a lot.
I'm sure you're right; I don't really visit the TWAU forum much. I mostly dwell at the TWD forum so I initially assumed that the negativity came from all over the forum.
I always considered season 2 to be a legit successor to season 1. When people compare season 1 and 2 it's like comparing pizza and ice cream
I've been here for almost two years, trust me, I know. lmao
chet is overrated

Hell yes! I request the Highest of fives!
