Hmph. That's weird coming from you of all people.

Personally I don't understand why these fanboys/fangirls are going psycho over fictional relationships. It's pathetic and I would advise the normal fans to laugh at these people. I think Telltale has finally given in to these weirdos.

400 Days felt like a prologue to something bigger and that was what I expected it to be when I played it, because TTG had said that the characters would have a role in Season 2. It was a big disappointment for me that they, with the exception of Bonnie, didn't have any role at all. For the most part I did find them more interesting than the Cabin crew. Scenes in 400 Days were brief because of it's narrative approach and I understand that some people didn't like that approach. Recent examples of the longer narratives with multiple playable characters are Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands (and there are plenty of examples of multiple protagonists also in older Telltale adventures).

Clem's story reached a logical conclusion at the end of Season 2. Continuing her story from the various endings would be rather difficult (because you really can't make one of them as canon ending). It would also make the final choices irrelevant if all endings lead to the same outcome. The Walking Dead -series has had 8 playable characters and Michonne miniseries is going to introduce at least one new playable character. Keeping that in mind, I don't see why they shouldn't introduce new playable characters in Season 3, because clearly Telltale's The Walking Dead games are about stories which are more or less connected with each other. Season 3 will have some connection to both Season 2 and Michonne miniseries. However Clem doesn't have to be that connection to Season 2.

The fact that Clem was the protagonist is no excuse to make her a superchild. It would have been possible to give her meaningful tasks without making the others look retarded (some of the group members supposedly even had higher education and yet it was the child who did all the difficult tasks).

And when it comes to killing Carver, it's true that Kenny had the justification to do it, but I think that it would have had a strong dramatic effect if Carver would have said to Clem that she is just like him and then she would have shot him in cold blood.

Yeah and it is great to feel that way about Clementine if that is your true feelings. Because all this ultimately boils down to is simple individual opinion and personal preference. The developers regardless of how we as individuals within the consumer audience feel.. will most likely do as they feel is best. Which is currently unknown. Clem might return as main playable character or she might not.

I feel (personally of course) that if Clementine returned as main character that it would sort of make the entire series run smoother than leap frogging from character to character and trying to learn and develop feelings for these new people and that is just my two cents on the matter. As I felt nothing much from 400 days episode, but still appreciated the extra content because it was something fun to do between the long gap between seasons 1 and 2.

So I wouldn't bad mouth it at all. And like you I was dissappointed in the lack of involvement of the 400 Days cast in season 2 as well. I was also dissappointed in the excess involvement of Kenny too even though I loved his character from season 1. If anything Kenny should have gotten a brief cameo and the 400 Days folks have the same amount of development and involvement Kenny had... That goes double for the Cabin group characters..

  • I also liked Kenny in Season 1. And while I think that he should have died in that horde, he was one of the few characters of Season 2 that I actually liked. Besides him I only liked Carver and Jane (before her behavior turned completely unstable and irrational in the last episode). Mike was OK, but others were either annoying or just felt irrelevant. Cabin crew was a poor replacement for Christa and Omid, although I think that losing them had a strong dramatic effect to Clem's story.

I really hope that we will hear more about 400 Days gang in the future (especially I want to know what happened to those who didn't go with Tavia). Vince, Wyatt, Shel and Becca managed to make an impression during the brief time I saw them in 400 Days and Nate became immediately one of my favorite characters.

Are you seriously telling me that Clem_is_awesome even deserves that respect

The guy has a near-spotless record of being disrespectful, if not a downright prick:

Consistently talks shit about Telltale practically every time he posts anything

Consistently talks shit about specific people at Telltale (namely Pierre Shorette and the other S2 writers), which he actually just provided a quality example of a few posts above:

Clem as a playable character didn't work not because of the fact that she's a child but because of the fact that Telltale hires forum moderators with no experience as their game writers.

And he just seems to have a penchant for making a bunch of snide and crass remarks towards people 90% of the time

He has teetered on the edge of the rules here for god knows how long now, and if there is one person on this forum that isn't deserving of Rule #1, it'd be this guy. He's practically deconstructing the respect and civility that this forum is trying to uphold

  • I like the idea of multiple protagonist. Sure it'll be complicated but it'll give the player different perspective's of multiple characters. We can switch between Clementine and whoever we save in No Going Back, or we could just switch between new characters. If this does not happen I would prefer we continue to play as Clementine (hopefully she'll have a little bit more emotion this season) and then have her story finish by the end of season 3. If they do make a season 4, maybe we could play as A.J

  • I really hope that we will hear more about 400 Days gang in the future

I would have enjoyed to hear all about them in season 2 and season 2 was their greatest opportunity for a greater revelation regarding them but the only one that shined from that group was Bonnie. Not that she was a bad choice just shouldn't have been the only choice. I have little expectation to hear from them in season 3 unless they somehow made it to the Wellington settlement coincidentally, or coincidentally run into Jane and Clem and weirdo Family at Howe's or just bump into Clem and AJ out in the wilderness depending on whatever conclusion you got.

I also liked Kenny in Season 1. And while I think that he should have died in that horde, he was one of the few characters of Season 2 that

  • Plot twist, everyone: No one cares if you want Clementine in the game or not. Your opinion won't get you what you want.

  • To me personally I would still play the game but I'd want to know what happened to Clementine if she wasn't the main character you play....unless you play as AJ and clem is older and you see what happened to clem then I'd still play just it wouldn't be the same......idk if you guys would understand what I'm saying but I understand what I'm saying

why not bring him back just to kill him an episode later?
they essentially did that to Christa and Omid; we lost the two of them within the first ten minutes of playing

I don't think it would've been a stupid decision...it would've allowed them to actually have Clementine bond with the new characters instead

it's not about giving her a free pass (a free pass for what exactly?), it's about trying to understand why Clementine made the decision she did. When you're stressed out you don't think as rationally as you should....Clementine is no exception.

most parents tell their kids not to do that, but that doesn't mean kids always listen...and Clem was desperate to find her parents so she believed what the stranger told her, even if intuitively she felt that it was wrong...I don't think it had anything to do with his sincerity, just Clem's desire to know what happened to her parents

Clem's need to find her parents far outweighed any smarts she may have had about dealing with strangers...Clem's smart, but that doesn't mean that she can't be out witted by anybody

  • Really dont understand this backlash against Clementine but im beginning to think it happens to every character who sticks around for longer than one season. Lee would probably get the same if hed lived.

Clementine is just a plot device, not a great character like Lee.

  • edited June 2015

If Clem has no respect for Lee, it's b/c of one of two reasons:

Lee can either lie to Clem and say they will look for her parents if they have time (Clem's smart enough tho to know you're bluffing) or he can tell her straight up that they're not going to look for them. So, depending on which story you go with, it's understandable why Clem chooses to believe the stranger.

On the train, if you tell Clem it's not a good idea to look for her 'rents she frankly states that she doesn't care about safety, only about finding mum and dad.

[If] Clem doesn't respect Lee it's b/c she either knows he's lying to ease her mind or b/c she's upset that Lee no longer wants to search for her parents...so is really no mystery why Clem chose to listen to the stranger

If Clem respect Lee,she would have listened to him when he said not to run off alone, but she know Lee when do anything for her, so she left to met the stranger knowing Lee would come after her.

A free pass at putting Lee's life on the line, what else would I mean? There are several people who still blame her for his death. That's the whole point of what we're saying. I already addressed that I understand why you arguably shouldn't blame her, but it's not something that I entirely agree with because, like I said, it's frustrating. It's okay to say a kid did something stupid so long as you know why they acted the way they did. Which I and others do.

Point is that Clementine made a huge mistake and not everyone has to be obligated automatically forgive her for it. That may sound really callous, but I'm not about to apologize for it.

Well, yeah, she did. It still counts even though it was to a lesser extent.

I hope you're not getting the wrong impression here. I know it was a shitty situation and the Stranger is truly the one to blame, I'm just trying to tell you why some people hold a grudge against Clementine. But I don't, as surprising as that may be. XD

  • It would have been stupid because Kenny is a main character and appeared in all episodes of S1. Makes an apearance in S2 just to die in the next episode, that would have definetly been bullshit. I wish Kenny and Jane never appeared in S2.
