Telltale gave Clementine super unnatural strength in S2 which is funny...

  • No idea.

How do I get rid of my privilege?

  • Edit: From reading your comment above I understand your point now.

I don't know how to raise a hen but I know how to cook eggs.

  • ……I don't know if I get your point...I mean, raising chickens. And I just want to say you don't have to know where the babies are from to raise them.

How do you "raise a hen"?

  • True, but to be fair, Clementine might not have any knowledge about it. Maybe other than Christa teaching her and stuff.

The ability to open cans with knives.

Ability to take care if a baby even though she's still a child

these have nothing to do with strength at all

  • I'm not saying its impossible like her kicking down the door, but it just seemed a bit far fetched, Now if TTG would of had her use the knife with another item IE like a rock, then would of made perfect sense.

The seals really do vary on what kind of cans. It could have been a cheap can of beans.

  • Yeah, it did seem far fetched. But to be honest, how else were they going to get in?

Now if TTG would of had her use the knife with another item IE like a rock, then would of made perfect sense

    um

    what

  • This topic has been talked about to death. I think almost every one of Season Two's flaws has been talked about to death. We've been beating the same dead horse for months now.

  • What I'm saying is Clem grew up in a house of educated professionals

Doctor mum I can agree with, but I don't see how engineer dad gets into that mix. And shit, I completely forgot about 2 years with Christa.

  • I don't see how her father's occupation has anything to do with telling her how sex works.

  • She takes the knife, and puts it against the can lid, and uses a Rock as a makeshift hammer, to tap a hole inside the can.

  • Oh, I see.

But I doubt that Clementine hasn't developed any strength from needing to kill walkers, use guns, fight away bandits, etc.

  • That could have been handled better by having Clem in a choke hold, and a Walker bites Winston as he tries to make Clem pass out, it would make more sense :D

I was more bothered about the fact, that she was able to fight off a grown man in episode 1, and not that she can open a can of beans with a knife lol.

  • All of these things are possible.

When I was 11, I was already frequently using a chainsaw and axe because we relied on wood heat, and my stepdad was lazy af (despite being unemployed and not having anything else to do). If I could split a log in 1-2 swings, I'm pretty sure I could have kicked a dog to save myself, or kicked a badly-made door open if I really needed to. Not arguing that wielding potential deadly items is what a kid should be doing at Clem's age, because I certainly shouldn't have been doing the things I was doing, just saying that helping to take care of a baby and doing difficult tasks that require strength aren't impossible for a child if she's been forced to grow up quickly and has been already dealing with surviving for the past two years with a good mentor (Christa).

As a cherry on top, we also didn't have a can opener for like 3 years because ours broke and my stepdad didn't want to waste $3 of his booze money on a new one, so I used a knife to open cans when making dinner. That one's not about strength, it's about leverage.

That being said, my 11 year old self could beat the crap out of me now, and I'm in my twenties! I'm honestly so relieved and amazed that I never chopped a limb off.

  • I agree, it was an overall silly scene imo.

  • i don't see how she could if she is barely eating, Strength comes from muscle, which is determined on how much you eat, consume, and work your muscles. She has little stick arms. I been without food for three, four days. Its sucks, real bad. I get physically sick when i don't eat.

  • Not sure about superhuman strength, but opening a can of beans that way is incredibly risky. I tried something similar like that when I was a bit younger than Clem with a pocket knife and some melted plastic. Sliced my thumb open and had to get stitches.

No joke, that can opening scene was one of the most tense in the whole season for me, for that reason. I kept wincing, expecting her to slice her finger open if her thrust wasn't perfectly perpendicular to the metal and ended up sliding the knife off toward her finger.
