The new one I would really consider buying, It looks fun and reminds me of silent hill (without the movement part) The story is pretty good but had been 'solved' a long time ago (link) and it's good for first time scary game players i.e. the whole 10 year old thing
But the whole gameplay has decreased through each game. Scott has yet to come up with a better story since the one the wrote into the game was discovered a looonnnggg time ago and the whole company has rushed each game since they are on demand (liking telltale, you probably know what a game is like when it's been abit rushed)
I would buy the first one to see if you like it ^-^

On the one hand people admit that the game is creepy, suspenseful and has brilliant jumpsca… moreres (and apparently a bigger story judging by some of the comments on this thread)
On the other hand, it is heavily criticized for having a horrible fanbase of whiny 10 year old's, and for being too simple to complete
