    That's because I can't read his comment.

It's my opinion. I'm not changing it for your sake.

  • Sounds like Life is Strange.

  • Whats the point of replaying it if you're just going to skip half of it?

  • The majority of the game is dialogue.

  • The point of a skip feature would be to allow you to replay the games so you can see the consequences of other choices, without needing to hear the same dialogue over and over.

Plenty of games have the feature, and it doesn't make them "less story focused".
Some games, mainly visual novels (which dialogue-wise are fairly close to telltale adventures,) have even implemented a selective form of skipping that will only skip dialogue you've seen before, as long as you hold the button down.
It works rather well, and makes replaying games dozens of times quite pleasant, I might add.

  • This is not GTA. This is a storyline and you must hear every aspect. You don't like It, har't awgy at.

  • You, sir, are full of logic.

Trying to shame me into changing my opinion won't work. Try again.

  • That's what youtube is for, and also what this forum is for.

    Lazy gamers.

  • Because, it will ruin the experience ahhhh.

  • I think the better question is, why is there no dialog replay? Because honestly, I cannot count the times I have played back a youtube video of Luke's laugh or when he awkwardly high fived Clem. Ahem... On a serious note, yeah, there should be a skip. When I rewind to see different outcomes I don't always want to sit through the same dialog because telltale was lazy and, like you said, didn't change it upon me answering differently than the first. >:C

  • Sorry to revive a dead horse just to beat it with a stick, but I would love this feature. I've played a number of visual novel games that allow you to "fast forward through previously seen dialogue" and anytime there was dialogue that hasn't been seen yet, it would go back to normal and if you haven't played before, no skipping for you. All of those games have dialogue that is important to the choices, but it increases the replayability. Sure, you could just watch the different outcomes on youtube, but I don't enjoy watching other people play more than playing myself. Slogging through scenes I don't care about replaying just to get to the ones that interest me is why I tend to just uninstall my telltale games after one playthrough and never look back.

  • Who bumped this thread?

  • Really? Should you skip the dialogue all you got left is mostly QTE scenes. And I don't like them especially those in the Michonne mini series. Felt like playing in a goddamned Zach Snyder movie.

  • I, for one, wouldn't use the feature to go through the whole game. I agree that would make it fruitless. But I would like the option to speed through certain parts of the game to be able to replay my favourite parts. I like the idea of being able to replay scenes in episodes I really enjoyed using the game I purchased and not by having to turn to a third party like youtube to watch someone else play it.

  • Telltale actually did that in Back to the Future, skipping the dialogues.

  • there should be an option to just play through you save with all your choices without having to do anything except watch it as an episode.

  • i wish that there was a skip credits option especially on season 2 as i have to play through the entire series again because i missed a bit and it wont give me the platinum trophy

I don't think anyone ever implied that they were going to skip dialogue the first time through.
That would obviously undermine the whole point of the game/story experience.

Do you genuinely think anyone really meant that? Honest?
If that's how you're interpreting the question, maybe consider the possibility that you're probably not actually trying to be helpful or constructive in your reply?

  • If you press 'dialogue skip' youre finish the game :DDD (just a joke dont injury me)

  • This thread is a bit old and does not seem to have anything updated to discuss, so I'm going to close this.
