kill mike saved game

Hey all, so on my frist save i did shoot Mike but on the second one the option to kill him is gone. my question is my frist saved game untouched? did i still shoot Mike or it somehow changed?

  • No it will still have him alive

  • Technically the shoot Mike option was never supposed to exist in the first place, so it will not carry over since it doesn't happen.

  • My guess is that it won't matter. I don't understand why telltale even gave us the option only to take it away. So I believe that we most likely won't see Mike again for it to have an affect.

I imagine he'll still be considered alive and well. I'm going to assume that they retroactively fixed the save files to account for the removal of that choice. So unfortunately, this will probably be the one and only case where your choice is truly non-canon.

I imagine two things could have happened

    1) They removed the choice very late into development, and as such, were not able to patch it out of the PS3 version before the launch date, or 2) They accidentally released an older branch/version of the game for the PS3 where the shoot Mike choice still existed

I agree. But no matter which one is true they still "planned" to give the option to kill him and make him a [determinant] character. So what was the reason they removed that option? The only thing I can think of is that he will have an appearance in season 3. I mean there are not many characters left alive. And since Bonnie, Kenny, Jane are [determinant] they will probably only have a short appearance in the game. Would be kinda sad if there is no one left alive who witnessed all these things (expect Clementine of course). I mean he was one of the few characters which hadnt really any "he will remember that" moments, making it easier for the future to add him without many different personality-branches. I kinda hope to see him again.

I honestly think Mike deserves to come back

Despite being part of the main group for the back-half of the season, he was kind of just... there. Not much of a character to him. Hell, even Arvo felt like he had more of a personality and presence than Mike did, and he was pretty much a hostage for 90% of the time. Which is a shame, because Mike struck me as a character that had the potential to be pretty interesting. And he still does have that potential, what with the betrayal and everything. Also, like how you mentioned, he's one the few characters left alive (presumably) that isn't determinant, and was around for a fair amount of what happened in the back half of S2. He has almost every reason to show up again.
