  • Holy crap.....Lego Jurassic World the game is just...fantastic. In my opinion, it's the best Jurassic Park game I've ever played and it surprisingly has some really badass moments with the dinosaurs. So much care and attention to detail was put into this game that...I love it. If you're a fan of the Jurassic Park franchise......GET THIS GAME!

  • I've been playing it since yesterday, it really is great

  • does anyone really think John Hammond really intended for his park to become so futuristic and depended on technology??, I mean the old park was so "magical" with the original red logo and just the natural feeling of the island being open without train tracks and all that kind of crap!!

Old Jurassic park is more of one way safari park which would end pretty fast, also you can see that it wasn't even an effective park as some of the dino is not seen in the area they supposed to be,while Jurassic World had many kinds of attraction and fun play based on the Jurassic wildlife. It really made me want to visit it,there are many improvements that made it into a much more impressive and immersive fantasy land rather than a monotone wildlife tour that only rely in the sense of "muh nostalgia!".

Ok, wow. I just came back from a screening of JW. Let me just say that I am a huge Jurassic Park fan, JP was basically my childhood. It woke my love for dinosaurs at a very young age, and the original is also my favourite movie of all time, and it will always be.

I went into Jurassic World knowing this: It would never be as good as Jurassic Park. But I expected it to still be a really good movie, better maybe even than The Lost World.

And it just isn't. The hype I felt for this movie could not have been described in words, I was so pumped when the lights went out...only to be really disappointed when they went on again.

This movie is a lot worse than I expected. Sure, I didn't think it would be a new JP, but I just expected more, probably too much. It also isn't near as good as TLW. TLW had an exciting storyline at least, and a good pace throughout most of the film.

Jurassic World completley lacks this. I'm sorry, but the pacing is just plain bad. And I think that is because there is just too much going on in this movie. They tried to cram as much as possible into this film, and it was a mistake. The story is for most parts all over the place, there's way too much skipping, and no scene really lasts longer than about 3-5 min, or I should say no location. It reminds me of a five year old just dragging you across the park and doesn't stop to simply relax and enjoy.

A good example is the Visitor Centre. It's just so random and only exists for nostalgia. They stumble across it completley by accident, just go in (nostalgia, nostalgia we get it), fix a car like they're some super mechanic (it would be impossible to get a 22 year old car running in a matter of minutes, seconds even) and just drive of. That's it.

The Hoskins subplot is stupid and unneccessary. Hoskins is too obsessed with the raptor militia idea, I just can't take this plot serious. Wu has become some sort of villain because the movie apparently needs a human antagonist. The resolution is also lackluster and predictable.

Story gets a 3/5 from me, and only with good will.

    Now on to the characters.

Most of them are stereotypes or just flat. There seriously isn't much more to most of them. I hate the characterization in this movie, and I hate it with a passion.

So, Owen starts of as a badass and finishes as a badass that got the girl. Hoskins and Wu start of as villainous types and their stories end as such.

The rest of the 'characterization' is unbelievable. Claire goes from burnt out aunt to caringaunt in a matter of hours. The 'romance' is pure and utter shit. Zach suddenly loves his brother much more than before, it goes on.

    Characters: 2/5

I don't have much to say about the dialogue. Almost all of it was cheesy, and some lines were terribly delivered.

    Dialogue: 2/5

The effects are for the most part really good, but at some points they just suck, which is a pretty weird contrast. There is too much reliance on CGI aswell, and at parts that CGI isn't even that good, just in your face. Still, for the most parts the effects work just fine.

    Effects: 4/5

Now on to the dinosaurs. It's not like there was a big variety. The raptors where kinda cool, but a bit too toned down imo. I jusr cringed at the first training session.

The T rex was arguably my favourite dinosaur in the movie, her entrance was triumphant and epic. Definitley the best part of the movie.

The I rex...I just don't buy it. It's way too overpowered, can somehow block it therminal signatures and sense others, can use extremley good camouflage and it's skin seems to be made of some otherwordly stuff. It's absolutley ridiculous how it just deflects all the bullets and take a near-direct hit with a rocket launcher with almost no damage. Just no.

The Pteranodons and Dimorphodons were pretty cool, so was the Mosasaurus.

Dinos get 4/5 overall from me.

Now, after all this negativity, to the points I liked. I enjoyed the I rex escape and introduction a lot. It was dark and intense, overall really cool.

The last battle is pretty epic, and even though I critized the cheesines before, here it actually works. The ending roar is very awesome and was the perfect moment to end the movie. And I'm just gonna say it, hopefully the series aswell. I know it's very unlikely that the sequel isn't already in the making, but after a very flawed movie, at least it ends very well.

My favourite character was by far Lowery, though I guess the rest doesn't really count anyway. He's a funny chap, and has a surprisingly big role.

All in all, I give Jurassic World a 3/5, and I think I am being very generous here. Tell me if you agree or if you think I was too harsh.

I think after seeing it some more times (which I defintley still will), I will appreciate the movie more. But right now I'm majorly disappointed with my most anticipated movie in at least a decade.

Hmmmm, I'm leaving in about an hour so ill react :)

Personally, I think you are being a little harsh but others are having similar reactions.

I was hyped when they announced a fourth JP, and I remember first hearing about the Tamed Raptors and Mosasaur and I was thinking "WTF, this is gonna be shit" but people on this forum filled me with hope and if it wasn't for them, I would have thought it was stupid but I actually liked it.

It reminds me of a five year old just dragging you across the park and doesn't stop to simply relax and enjoy.

I was disappointed that we didn't get to explore the park more but I guess it has to be that way.....

Can't really argue with that :P

The Hoskins subplot is stupid and unneccessary. Hoskins is too obsessed with the raptor militia idea, I just can't take this plot serious. Wu has become some sort of villain because the movie apparently needs a human antagonist. The resolution is also lackluster and predictable

I wouldn't really say "stupid", but I guess you could ask "why is he so obsessed with this?" It's a movie, and it's called forced character traits. Also, I kind of liked the whole Wu "mad scientist" thing.

Most of them are stereotypes or just flat. There seriously isn't much more to most of them. I hate the characterization in this movie, and I hate it with a passion.

Meh, I could apply this to a lot of movies, not really JWs fault, more of Hollywoods lack of originality sooooo yeah.

The rest of the 'characterization' is unbelievable. Claire goes from burnt out aunt to caringaunt in a matter of hours. The 'romance' is pure and utter shit. Zach suddenly loves his brother much more than before, it goes on.

I could apply those sentences to Walking Dead S2 :P.

Surprised you gave the effects 4/5, they were better than JP3 but not as good as TLW and JP.

The T rex was arguably my favourite dinosaur in the movie, her entrance was triumphant and epic. Definitley the best part of the movie.

    Damn right.

Just no.

    Hollywood right there.

But overall, the Dinos were kewl as you said.

Final battle was pretty epic. Personally, I liked JW but I thought it was a good way for the series to go out, unfortunately ,Chris Pratt has said he's signed on for at least one more sequel but that doesn't mean anything's in the works .

I liked JW, You made some good points and I see it's flaws but you could say TLW and JP3 have more flaws (even though I do like them). Jurassic World is one of those movies where you should sit back and enjoy the ride without over thinking it.

See you guys in a few weeks :)

  • Peoples' opinions on this movie sure do seem split. Love it or hate it type of thing. I personally loved the movie! Sure, not really anything amazing in terms of writing, but it was incredibly awesome and fun. A great popcorn flick.

Nothing will ever top the original film, but I think Jurassic World was easily the best sequel from the franchise.

Gonna have to pick up that Lego game at some point too. Those games are always a blast. :D

Well...shit...I was hoping I wouldn't have to debate with you.

I think you're being VERY harsh as I didn't think the pacing was bad, I thought it was fine and I was never bored and I thought I got enough of the park itself to really appreciate it.

The characters aren't complex or multi-dimensional, but they're not boring. I found most of them likeable, charismatic and enjoyable to be around and that's what I want in a fun blockbuster. They're stereotypes but I still like them and thought they were well defined and had a good sense of fun to them.

I'm pretty sure the iRex was meant to be a powerful dinosaur to warrant a complete shutdown of the park and cause enough chaos and there's a twist in the story that basically tells us that the iRex was given all these different animal and dinosaur traits because Henry Wu was working with Hoskins in creating a weapon.

I thought Hoskins was fine, I didn't think his plan to use raptors was stupid and unnecessary at all, it made some sense especially when all other methods failed in taking down the iRex and using dinosaurs as weapons wasn't too much of a stretch for me in any way as it did something interesting and new for the franchise. I mean, human villains in the JP films aren't really anything special so....I didn't mind his crazy plan especially when it seemed less crazy than the villain's plan from Lost World.

I can guess that you're one of those people that thinks Lost World is the better sequel and I can't really agree with that after seeing Jurassic world as I feel JW actually expands and furthers the ideas from the original about respecting nature and letting it find its own way rather than just using the dinosaurs as cool set pieces to sell the movie.

You're entitled to your opinion, I just liked this a lot more than you did.

  • I can see that I'm probably being pretty harsh, but this is due to my high expectations. I was really looking forward to this movie, and I don't think JW delivered as much as it could have..

And yes, I think TLW is the best sequel. After calming down a bit and watching JW again, I'll probably like and respect it more. But it won't be the better sequel for me.

I think my problem is that I expected a Jurassic movie. I don't really count JP/// as a Jurassic movie, only as a dinosaur action movie that happens to be set on Isla Sorna, just dumb fun.

Jurassic World is in many aspects more a dinosaur movie than a Jurassic movie. I can respect that it works quite well as that, but not as a Jurassic movie, more like a (admittedly much) better version of Jurassic Park ///

I think the movie isn't bad in itself, but it doesn't work as a continuation of the Jurassic Park saga for me.

Fair enough, I kind of liked that the film didn't try to be like the first film but instead just borrowed a few elements and made something familiar but different enough to feel fresh. I'm interested to see where this goes especially since a sequel is in the works.

BTW, do you agree with people that say this movie is sort of like the Aliens of the Jurassic franchise or not?

Jurassic World movie has proven to be the best of the 2015 movies. The character played by Chris Pratt had an amazing outfit. This outfit included a Leather Vest. This vest is smooth and easy to wear and not too heavy. I purchased this Hunter Vest about a month ago from Sky-Seller online shop. For more features about vest visit my blog. Click here.

  • Yes so far Jurassic World has made on my favorite movies of 2015. Is not better than the 1st but with the 2nd and 3rd movie, this one beated those 2. Especially the 3rd, because the 3rd movie is just awful.

  • Damn right :) I loved this and the first, I actually liked the 2nd despite it's flaws, and you're straight on about the third.

I never thought I would ever say that, but Jurassic World was not my favourite 2015 movie.

As weird as it sounds, I enjoyed Antman more than Jurassic World.

I really don't see what people like so much about Jurassic World. It's an ok movie at best, and I disagree about The Lost World.

Jurassic World is only slightly better than Jurassic Park /// in my books, and both are nowhere near the level of the first two movies.
