TWAU - buy it ?
Hey, I´m here because of TWD, but there are nothing new at the moment, and all I heard about it is that TWAU is similar to TWD (with another setting)
I guess the most of guys in this forum are fans, but nevertheless I trust you guys here more then strange sides/authors and you probably know it best^^
So - I love TWD S1 and like S2 - might TWAU the right game for me, and is it better then TWD S2 ?

TWAU isn't really similar to TWD at all other than the gameplay style. I do consider TWAU to be better than the second season of TWD. TWAU is based on a comic book series, like TWD, that just recently ended. You don't need to have read any of them you can just go in blind as it is a prequel. Overall, get it. If you liked Telltales previous games then you'll probably like this one
I highly recommend The Wolf Among Us, along with Telltale's other projects like Tales From the Borderlands and Game of Thrones. I prefer TWD S2 over TWAU, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still a great game and an overall enjoyable experience to play.
TWAU does a much better job with determinant characters than TWD and just has many interesting characters. The plot was done well and the fight scenes were just flat out epic! TWAU also does a better job by making your choices matter more.
I found TWAU to be a lot more gripping and and epic than TWD, maybe cuz it uses the great fairytale character's from our youths as the main characters
IMO, TWAU is better than TWD, but currently it has found a competitor in GOT for taking the top spot as TellTale's Best Title (for me at least) While TWAU is a prequel to the recently ended (and extremely good) Fables comics, it is a prequel that does not require any knowledge of the comics to understand what is going on (I went in having no idea that the Fables comics even existed, but I now own the entire collection!)
Give it a chance, and tell us what you think!
Thank you guys for the help - I think I´ll try it yet this week
You think GoT is the best title right now? o.O
I love GOT anyways.
TFTB is up there, in between TWD and TWAU. It's lacking some things for me to like it that much...
Its worth the buy, dude
You'll love it.
I bet in a couple of months I will be the only one who'll still believe in TWAU being the #1... It won't stop me tho, I will be the last man standing if necessary
When it, like you all said has:
then it must be great - I miss the emotional scenes like during playing TWD, and if TWAU make this (even better then TWD) I don´t have a choice any longer then play it^^
Episode 1 was fantastic. Probably Telltale's best episode overall. Everything here is great; especially the times you get to play detective with Toad and Lawrence
Episode 2 was shoddy and rushed. Story was obviously changed mid-game and overall quality has begun to deteriorate. Large portion of the game is dedicated to a virtual strip dance, not sure how this contributes to the detective story Telltale is trying to tell...resources could've been used in a better way. The whole threatening to break Georgie's bar scene with a baseball bat doesn't work at all if your Bigby isn't a violent dick. Episode lasts maybe 45 minutes and is full of all kinds of weird graphical/sound glitches and logical inconsistencies.
Episode 3 was a return to form. Not quite as good as Episode 1 but, still pretty dam good. My second favorite part of this series.
Episode 4 was easily the worst episode in the series. You run around chasing leads but, accomplish relatively little in the grand scheme of things. Best part was seeing how Telltale chose to make Beast and Cinderella into a couple of rich a$$holes. Why Telltale spent so much time on this scene...who knows?
Episode 5 the grand finale wasn't really all that great. Looking back on things, it really felt the answers to your investigation were just kind of dropped in your lap. I mean what did Bigby really accomplish? Barring Episode 1, Bigby didn't really have a chance to investigate much of anything on a concrete level. Without getting into too much detail, I just kind of felt like a mindless pawn going through the motions.
Still worth playing? Yes.
I highly recommend it! The story and characters are well written, the fight scenes are great, and decisions matter more.
Hey , I just finished the game now - and I want to thank you to make me buy the game
