Clothes in the Walking Dead

Anyone notice that everyone basically wears the same thing? Lol I just noticed I was playing Episode 2 and almost every character wears a jacket and jeans. Jacket and jeans. Jacket and jeans. Just something I notice. It's been a little slow today on the forum so I thought I'd stir up a topic, cuz I can't really think of anything else

    From EP1 to EP2: (3 Months)

    Lee- New clothing
    Carley- New clothing
    Doug- New clothing
    Kenny- New clothing
    Lilly- New clothing
    Larry- New clothing

EP3: (Roughly a week or so)

    Lee- New Clothing
    Carley- New Clothing

From EP3 to the end it's the same but it also all happened within a few days. I'd say given the time frame it makes sense.

Yeah, I guess your right. I just noticed I guess jeans are a big hit in the video game because virtually everyone wears them except good ol' Doug and his khakis

You mean you haven't been to your nearest AberZombie and Stitch?

Kenny gets new clothes in Episode 3 as well, and wears them to the end. Also, don't forget the hoodie Clem can get if the food is taken at the end of Episode 2.

I believe the most changes are Clementine, Lee, Carley and Kenny, with Clem having the sleeveless one of Episode 1, with sleeves in Episode 2, with out without a hat, and the foodie. Carley's was the reporter outfit with the white shirt and black skirt with what I guess were flats or sandles, I really could not tell. Episode 2 I kind of forgot but I remember the white shirt with a purple vest, can't really remember anything else. Episode 3 was the blue jacket and jeans. Kenny in Episode 1 he had a white shirt with what appears to be a scorpion on it, maybe. Episode 2 he has a green shirt with the words Sunshine City on the back. His last shirt is also green but somewhat more dark with nothing on it, I honestly never saw what his pants were so I assume they remain the same, how could you not stare at the stache? Lee we all know has his blue shirt and deep pocket jeans, it's his brand of jeans anyway. Episode 2 has the badass leather jacket but after that I think it just reverts back to the blue shit from Episode 1.

jeans and a jacket are practical

Almost everyone changes clothes in 400 days. Shel does it 4 times, I think.

Jacket and jeans are practical post apoclypse survival gear. Jeans are suitible for any condition, they can keep you warm, and are tough, compared to something like khaki's or something, also they're flexible so they're easy to run in. Jacket's obvious.

Well I guess the characters want to stay stylish when being eaten alive by walkers or being shot in the face or having a salt lick drop on your head or having there moustache ripped off as punishment therefore killing them because the Stache is so awesome.... Wait that last one didn't happen but still the group have to stay trendy :D

I was a big fan of Lee's jacket look in Episode 2. Classy.

Me too! If only he wore it for the rest of the Season, then his sleeve would have protected him from the bite!

Why didn't Lee have his red shirt or his leather jacket in episode 3?

Duck had 3 different outfits like Carly. He had the blue and red plaid shirt in ep 1, he had the yellow and green plaid shirt in ep 2 and the plain orange shirt in ep 3. The others had 2 outfits if I remember correctly. Ben had the same outfit since he was only with the group for a week.

Ben's clothing did change slightly, when we first met him he had a white collar then in became red.

We'll change it up in season 2. Evening dresses and heels for all!

Sounds like a plan! Excited to see the outcome! Great job on 400 Days, by the way, love the graphics (and Nate)!!! :D

Evening dress's would be okay with me but heels, nope, I do not need those crap boots making enough noise for half of Georgia to come and find us and it would not make a whole lot of sense walking and running up and down hills in heels, I know it was not to be taken serious.
  • edited July 2013
C'mon, heels would be great! Put it through a walker's eye, use it as a weapon! I can see no downside to heels whatsoever. Even give them to the men.

This is going to be the strangest post I have ever, so bear with me here. I do not like heels at all, they the Lilly of foot ware to me, my reason is probably the worst reason ever. I think that wearing heels, any type of them makes you look... a bit more... whoreish? Weird reason but I honestly think that, sorry if that ticks you off but that's my truth, yes it would be a good weapon but still, I can not get over that one part.
  • I'm a big fan of doug's brown/dark brown jacket. I think it looks classy ;3

  • I guess with jackets and jeans they're better protective wear against the dead. Zombies would have a harder time munching through denim or leather. The TV show has most of Rick's group showing their arms off. I can get it if it's hot out, but all it takes is one bite.

;_; and I can't believe we haven't seen anybody in an evening dress yet.

  • At least the walkers have variety, right? Like that one chick who wore pink/red long sleeve flannel and orange basket ball shorts.

    Gets me every time.

  • What's with all the necromancy lately?

As far as the clothes, they can be chalked up to one thing. Practicality.

Lol omg I want to see that. Do you have a screenshot?

I'm curious about how someone even stumbles across threads like these

I mean, I can understand that maybe someone was searching on google for something else and stumbled across an old thread, but what in the hell are you searching for to end up in this thread?

  • Well their world has been taken over by walkers so really to them, clean clothes doesn't matter anymore.

  • I am a real big fan of clementine sweatshirt in the very very beginning of season 2 when omid dies. I wish we had more time playing as the younger clem

  • Basically in multiple video games they have each character wear the same clothes for an eternity. Except for PCs, depends on the game.

  • A lot of people seem to be wearing an undershirt with a t-shirt over it as well.

S1 Kenny, Nick, Rebecca, S2 Clementine (before the jacket). It goes on.

  • Why does everybody wear jeans? Literally, everyone. Why not sweatpants?

  • Jeans look way better than sweatpants

I get that it's an apocalypse and all, but there are still standards here

  • Jeans are hard as hell to run in unless they're loose, and it's even worse in the rain. Apparently every survivor is willing to give up every human possession they have except jeans.

  • Haha I've actually noticed that. If it's a main character, then they at least have some sort of special clothing. Like how Clem has her hat and her hoodie (hoodie from season 1)

  • In S2, it's winter, so having Jackets makes sense.
Honestly, to have Luke and Nick dressed in sweatshirts, given how cold it is in that part of the country, is very unrealistic to me!
And Jeans are very durable, and are not bad for cold weather.
