There's something called "adaption" that is part of each human being. At first people in TWD would get startled by these creatures, as Joel was at the beginning, but they would later adapt. So no, they wouldn't be screwed if there were clickers, runners or bloaters in TWD.
People that tried to kill him, he's done what any other person would have done. He cares for some people and tries to reason with any stranger whenever he can.
The doctor at the end was pointing a knife at him, if he had just backed up like the rest of his stuff nothing would have happened to him. Joel tried to reason with Marlene before realizing that she was dead set on letting Ellie's operation go on, after that, she became Joel's enemy, and since the enemy you don't kill today is going to be the one who'll kill you tomorrow, Joel couldn't just take the risk. Joel is surely a decent man for the standards of an apocalypse survivor.
He is the nicest person in the apocalypse, he would give you the shirt off his back. Sorry i disagree, i think he is a psychopath, how many people did Joel kill throughout their little trip across country. Fifty, Sixty, One hundred? Those people got families, children, what happens to them.

Surely the Hunters were very nice people who just wanted to care for their families, and David's group was just about to organize a grand feast for Joel and Ellie before they suddenly got mad, and the Fireflies just wanted to speak nicely to him about his role as a parent, but unfortunately Joel is so crazy that he killed them before they could explain themselves. To speak seriously now, they were all people who tried to kill him, ALL of them, no exception. What would you do? Let them kill you because you care too much about human life to kill others? Well, I would do exactly what Joel did in those circumstances. Saying that Joel is a pshycopath is an absurdity. He loves Ellie, he loves his brother, he loved Tess, he was on friendly terms with Marlene until she clearly said "I'm sparing you this time, then I'll kill you", he wants to live in a community, in the cut ending he found a woman, these are all things which a pshycopath wouldn't just be able to do. If you think that Joel is a bad man, you'd be putting him on the same level of the Hunters, you really think that Joel and the Hunters are alike? I hope not.
Joel is surely a decent man

You mean like the doctor at the end, or like Marlene. Yeah Joel is a real good guy.
He survived 20 years because the writers didn't kill him off in the first game.
First game? TLOU 2 confirmed?
