What does the Mini Series mean for Clementine?
Folks I'm happy everyones favorite katana wielder is getting the TT treatmeant! Here's the short list: 1. She is a character that defines The Walking Dead in every way. 2. She will bring with her crossover potential. 3. TTs writers get to work on the character they wanted from day one! I do have the nagging feeling that when this sells, and it will, we can kiss Clem and her story good bye. Hope I'm wrong but money talks and this will out sell S1 and S2 combined. That said Do you believe Clems story ended in S2? If so why? If not will Michonne impact S3? In any case TTs TWD just got a great shot in the arm!

The mini-series will more than likely be what it is. A mini-series.
There may be some crossover in terms of characters but that'll be it. The two stories (The game and the comic) won't ever join up.
Firstly, thanks for commenting. 2nd I agree but Clem and Lee have a fairly large Cult following that verges on Mainstream status.
Always avoid always!
I think that Michonne mini-series DLC will have as much impact to Season 3 as 400 Days had to Season 2.
However I would like to see new (preferably adult) protagonist for Season 3. Clem's story came to a natural conclusion and while it's possible for her story to continue from there, I don't see why it should.
Who the hell is "Clemintine"?
It likely means nothing for Clem herself. But Michonne may encounter characters in her mini-series that will have a role in Season Three (I assume Season Three will feature Clem again). Kinda how Bonnie ended up playing a big role in Season Two.
It won't affect Clem's story at all, it's basically a spin off.
It means nothing. It's a separate mini story that's got nothing to do with her that's it. Still here's hoping Clementine isn't in S3.
"Clemintine"? Maybe a new character
Edited "Swear"
True maybe include Clem as one of many pc's 400 days style. Or give her a seprate game, but at this point Clem is like John Cena. Boo all you like its all about the money. I do agree however a fresh P.O.V could be great if done well. Whatever happens hopefully Kirkman is willing to help them steer this thing. In my opinion season 2s writting fell flat. Not Clem as a character.
Thx I would assume that to be the case. I just don't want my S2 choices given what I'd call "The Omid treatment" brushed aside for a new PC with no development. Maybe Michonne Mini will handle this tightrope act?
No impact at all then. :P
Fair enough, anything you would prefer. We talking complete reboot in your mind?
I mean I'm not saying they can't make mentions of the characters from the first two seasons. Heck they can even have some characters show up which would be cool. I'm just saying I would love a new protagonist (preferably an adult) and a new set of characters.
We will get new set of characters no matter what, since Telltale has killed off almost all S1 and S2 characters and many of those who somehow survived aren't part of the group anymore.
While comics has also killed characters it has kept enough alive so that the group is still there. That kind of continuity is unfortunately something which is missing from the game. Sure you have Clem (and possibly Kenny) who have been around from the beginning, but I liked Clem better when she wasn't the player character. At this point I would prefer a new protagonist who is more like Lee or Michonne.
It may have little subtle nods or hints to what may happen in Season 3, but other than that, I don't see it having much of an impact.
Sorry about late reply, had to work. Right I hear you man. Just to keep it fresh. I like the idea . Just think it might be something pushed off till S4. Unless you do some Game of thrones like character swaps. . But theres also this stir going about new gameplay mechanics. Who knows whats goning on with that?
Going can't spell today geez
As far as the mini series I'm not sure but hope it would have some kind of interacting with S3 like 400 days did with S2. If not then hey thats cool with me. As for S3 having a reboot on the story of Clem and not having Clem as well as not playing as Clem in S3.... I have to say is... if Telltale Games does that then I for one will not be playing S3 of TWD ever and will just be more then happy to go somewhere else for a good story telling video game like the Telltale Games TWD game. I'm sorry but I have to say Clementine is my most favorite character and it won't be the same without her. So at that point I'll be out. That's my opinion.
I think Michonne will encounter some people that will be in Season 3.
If it's anything like the 400 days dlc, then I don't plan on saving a soul
I liked Vince, and where is he now? So I'll make sure my michonne leaves everyone to the walkers.
I have no idea where he is, because in my game he didn't go to Howe's and I still want to learn what happened to those who didn't go with Tavia.
So, Vince is still one of the good guys in my game.
I'm wondering where Michone will fit in with the timeline. I'm not a comic reader and I know there are a lot of differences between that and the TV show. But in game time we're about 3 years since the apocalypse. Shouldn't Michone have already hooked up with Rick and the gang? Aren't they even in a different part of the country? I wonder how they could tie a Michone mini story with where Clem is?
Thx lets hope for that.
Thx for reply too cool glad ppl seem to want to talk about this, in a civil way. I love Clem too thats why I'm not opposed to a new PC. Not that I don't want to have control of her. Let me be clear I'll play no matter what they decide. I always finish what I start(in gaming anyway) I think what we're talking about is having control of Clems story ending which can be done well with equal control of Clem and any number of PCs TT would choose to give us. I think it boils down to cannon for TTG TWD. As far as I can make out that cannon,to put it far too simple. Clem lives everone she loves Dies. Everything else includeing characters you control are the means to get that story told. Bottom line till shes killed of Clem can't be removed from this game. Well that took more effort than I thought it would. Thx again!
rememder man its a MINI series for a reason.they cant leave us hanging on clems story like that
Lolz you think so. Here's hoping
Seeing that this will be a Three Part Mini-Series, I have a theory that I think will suit this. In each Episode, Michonne will across a different character from Season 2 (maybe even Season 1). And each character she comes across will fill in some unanswered questions from the game.
For example, maybe Michonne came across Christa and Clementine during the 16 month time skip and find out what became of her baby. Or she came across Christa after she got separated from Clementine and we finally find out what became of her.
Well I'm hoping it does not mean that Clementine's journey is now trashed and done. I want to know what happens beyond season 2 for Clementine. Anything else is pretty-much akin to a spin-off. And takes some effort to try to get invested into a new main character and if you happen to not be feeling the new protagonist then everything else feels mediocre along with it. I liked Lee and Clementine equally as the main characters of seasons 1 and 2 respectively. But other than those two who truly fits the bill that makes much sense at the same time? When you have a new protagonists besides Lee and Clementine it often seems to always fit better within a spin-off or filler like plot.
With Michonne being the protagonist of her own little series and one of the 400 days characters each had a go in that one anthology like episode titled "400 Days". Even when folks mentioned Kenny as protagonist. I noticed that usually it was for some sort of DLC episode. DLC's, mini-series, and spin-offs with new protagonists work fine. But as apart of the mainstream seasonal game series. It doesn't make much sense at all at-least to me. A new main character for each season sounds sloppy and all over the place. It only made sense to switch because of the kind of ending they chose for season 1. For the mainstream series usually consistent and familiar characters work better over the long term than a new protagonist for each saga. This isn't Final Destination, where constant new main characters worked best for that franchise.
Literally nothing.
Thx for the well thought out response. Great reasoning and I would be pleased to play a S3 based solely on the choices made in S1 and S2 with teen Clem as PC. TT are you listening? Time will tell.
Thx you are most likely right. But I can't really see them not pushing the michonne mini hard. Why would they not use atleast some portion of it to hype S3? Would TT then leave her ( Michonne )fans nothing to look forward to? Will they ignore Clem fans? My best guess is no. Essentially Michonne will be "400 Days pt2" Only in three parts Largest Dlc TT has done yet. Thx again.
And after words she could chain them.Fresh cow catchers! Thx for rply!
Impossible outselling S1 and S2 combined because you have to buy S2E1 in order to purchase the mini series. Also it won't have an impact on S3 which is why I don't think I'm buying it. I wish they would make their own characters instead of bringing in characters from different mediums.
I'm done with playing as a child. I have always hated that cliché about a superchild who is stronger and smarter than adults and it certainly didn't make any good to The Walking Dead. I think that Clem's character worked better in the role which she had in season 1. In season 2 she just made the rest of group to look like complete idiots who couldn't decide if they would treat her as a child or as an adult. Lee's interactions with the season 1 group felt more natural than Clem's with season 2 group, which sometimes felt bit forced. For me Clem as a playable character would be acceptable only if there are multiple player characters like in 400 Days.
There are plenty of game series which change protagonists now and then and. If it's done properly, it really doesn't harm the franchise. In TWD's case it might help TTG to get rid of the narrative issues which the season 2 had.
We already know what happens to Michonne after the mini-series. The mini-series takes place between the comic issues #126 and #139 when Michonne was temporarily away from Rick's group. According to announcement of the mini-series we will learn why she left the group and why she came back, so there won't be more Michonne after this.
Nothing
lmao your avatar looks sick
Hum despite my fuzzy math I still belive this will sell better over all due to michonne fans. Now if if this Mini where called Dixon noone would argue over my math. Lolz anyway thx for rply.
Thx for reply. Heres my 2cents it would be fairly easy to have Clems story intersect in meaningful way with the Michonne Mini. TT could do so to bring more players in for S3. Or the Mini could bring new play style that gets used by clem or New PC. K I'm not sayin Michonne for S3(atleast not yet) but to me it seems only logical to create a anchor of some kind betwee Minchonne Mini and S3 no need for that to mean Michonne herself. Thx again
