Their priority when leaving Carver's should've been just that--leaving Carver's. You can't let emotions like anger and vengeance get in the … moreway of survival. They should've left Howe's as soon as they were able to, to make a clean escape. Both Kenny and Rebecca were responsible for that, as both wanted to stay, when it would've been best to try to get out of there asap. I'm not saying that there couldn't have been other ways in which the plan could've ended up badly. But Kenny's insistence on staying did not help matters.
Honestly I'd be more worried about getting out of there, because I'd realize that there would be people with guns on our tails in seconds. There was no time to waste. You shoot the guy in the face if you want your revenge, then hightail it out of there asap. Otherwise you're risking everyone's lives unnecessarily.
How would you react though if this guy killed your husband leaving you a widow or beat your face in and you lost an eye.
I really can't blame Rebecca or Kenny for what they did and no body in the group blamed them later on about it either.
Completely true, but I think that's a mindset of one of the less emotionally charged people at that moment. But it would be hard, in my opinion, to not do what they did if I were them.

Lol I hate Kenny as much as the next guy (mostly because the writers' tendency to have him steal the spotlight and I can't stand his childis… moreh behavior), but he does care about Clem. Both Jane and Kenny cared for her in their own ways, and they both have their own faults. It's up to the player to decide how malicious each character is being in reality.
Personally I chose Jane because Kenny's plans--which he never thinks through--are foolish and likely to get you killed, and it's a downright miracle he's still alive. Remember how he wanted to just "improvise" in order to get through that herd, with no plan? Remember how he didn't think twice about shooting Carver's man, and shooting Carver himself, not even considering Carver might shoot back and kill people Kenny cared about? I killed Kenny and abandoned Jane. Clem and AJ were better off without either of them. Also I don't at all buy that Jane was selflessly preparing Clem for the future. Jane was guilt ridden over abandoning her sister. She was grooming Clem as a replacement to assuage her guilt. Her motives were entirely selfish.
For the record, I loved Kenny and liked Jane a lot. I killed Kenny because I couldn't allow him to summarily execute a woman before hearing her side of the story. Conversely I could not continue with a woman who manipulated me into killing a beloved friend. Manipulation is something you do to a thing. Not to a person you claim to care so much about. I wish TTG had given me an opportunity to pull the trigger on Jane. Abandoning her was merely the second best option.

By the time Clementine was desperately trying to stop the fight by forcing herself between Kenny and Jane only to be shoved to the ground and ignored while her wound reopened, I was actually hoping for an option to end the fight by shooting them both. While I can live with the choices we got, I'm still a bit disappointed that shooting them both wasn't an option.
