Is there a lot that goes on in the comic with Michonne, after she gets back from sea? I know about one of the major character deaths, but are there other things too?
Yes, there are only 5 episodes in season 2. The Michonne mini series will require season 2 episode 1 to be installed to work as it uses some assets and base game files but the story will be unconnected from the events in season 2.

I'm excited! I just hope they get us a trailer soon. I mean really, the first ep should be here (crossing fingers) in the next couple of months and all we've gotten is a few screenshots. Give us some more stuff to be hyped about!

The mini series is based on the comics during a time where Michonne was away from the main group. As i am not Telltale staff i don't know how the story will go but i guess there might be a possibility of briefly seeing some familiar faces at the very beginning (when Michonne leaves) or at the very end (when Michonne returns) but the majority of the game will take place with Michonne doing her own thing.
Job just tweeted a short while ago today that we will get Michonne news next month. Not particularly surprising given at this point we could guess the series was coming either November or December through process of elimination, but still, it's an update.

Aww, someone told me the first episode had just been released today. I rushed home all excited but feel like an idiot now.
An episode was released today, of Minecraft: Story Mode.
I think It's more will be end in March-April.
