Why are there no nude scenes in the game?

edited October 2015 in Game Of Thrones

The show itself is riddled with them.
And mind you, the women in them are drop-dead gorgeous.
But why not have them in the game?
The game is rated M for a mature audience, after all.

There is no intent on being creepy here.
None at all!
I'm just merely asking a question.

  • Because Telltale hasn't found a point where nudity would be conducive to telling their story.

  • If there is no reason to show nudity, then it is a waste of time to show them.

  • To be honest the sex scene easily could have had some, and kind of should have really to follow the source material. Though I dont really care, its like the wolf among us scene, its part of the world.

  • It isn't really a big deal, but they did have a nude scene in The Wolf Among Us, so maybe in episode 6 they will surprise us, although I don't know how they will do it with everything that is going on.

  • They were lazy to.model Elaenna's boobs?

  • They did.

  • Yeah, but they did model it. Textures are just all black because she has the blanket wrapped around her.

  • You're absolutely right. I DEMAND to see Gared fully exposed for my viewing pleasures. (Also disappointed we did not get to see Rodrik's ironwood.)

  • I want some flaccid dicks in my life, please telltale.

So, if someone had the time to both edit the UVs and edit/create a nude texture map, couldn't they theoretically make a fully operational nude model?

I mean, I imagine that'd be pretty difficult, and it'd only be half official (since you'd have to make- to put it extremely blunt- your own texture of her tits) but potentially doable

  • "Please, no..."

  • Because many (or should I say most) people that plays their games are way younger than they should be.

  • Because it doesn't need any to be good.

  • You know thats not the actual reason right. Including nudity just increase the amount of hassle needed for certification and the rating of the game, it has nothing to do with people under the age buying the game.

  • Yeah where's the boobs? Damn it that's why I bought the game! (Not really lol).

  • Well it needs something to be good

Because it doesn't need any to be good.

  • I think this series has been pretty good so far. I mean, it's my least favorite Telltale game, but nudity is not going to make it any better, to be honest, it would probably make it worse for me. One of the things I hate about the show is that they throw in a lot of nudity for no reason, and the fact that the game has stayed away from that makes me appreciate the story a lot more.

Well it needs something to be good

  • The game is ok. I didn't like it at first, but the back half has been awesome in my opinion. I thought most of episode 3 was ok and episode 4 and 5 I really liked.

  • 4 is definitely the best, but 2 is a close second in my opinion. 3 had some really great moments, especially towards the end.

  • The actual age of people buying the game isn't factored in at all, all that really matters is the sale. The rating is mostly there so blame on the company can be avoided if the topic of a game is too 'mature' for someone younger. As far as telltale goes and cares, if you're buying this game, you are as old or older as the rating on the box

It is one of them. I guess

  • So, in other words there has been a lot of time wasted in the show?

If there is no reason to show nudity, then it is a waste of time to show them.

  • You guys do know that nudity alone won't make a game rated Mature, even though it is the "polite" way to cause a game to be rated M. Part of it includes how much nudity is in the game. The other 2 factors that go into ratings are language and violence. Get your swear jars out and place a bet to see who gets the pot because games with a lot of swearing will cause the game to be rated M. When I say violence I don't mean you stab a guy and a rainbow comes out of him or he just disappears, that's not what I mean. I say violence in the sense that when you kill a character a realistic amount of blood comes spewing out and the amount of blood will cause the game to be rated M.

  • I didn't know you had played Games of Thrones, Kenny/Lee. Either way, I don't mind the lack of nudity, but it is a bit surprising that there's been none of it so far. Telltale clearly had no problem with putting nudity in the Wolf Among Us, so it's odd that there hasn't been any in Game of Thrones, which is based on a show famous for it. It could be that they want to save it, in order for it to be more impact. I think Emilia Clarke (the actress for Daenerys) said not to long ago that TV and films should be more suggestive instead of graphic, and I think she has a point. When you see a lot of something, it stops being significant. I've come to expect nudity from the show, so it's not a big deal to me, but I think that, since there's been no nudity in the game, it might be more significant if it is used as part of the plot.

Or it could simply be that Telltale wants to set the game apart from the show in some way. Regardless, it's their game, and their right to add or not add nudity.

  • Yes. All the little slights and continuity errors just to make a room for tits and to save money and take it easy on casting using far less characters have led us to what we call now Season 5.

I wish I could find a gif to sum up how funny this is.

  • Personally, I don't find it necessary. The nude scene in The Wolf Among Us made sense; it was at a strip bar, no wonder there was a naked woman there. I don't see how on-screen nude/sex scenes would fit or advance the story at this point. I find most of the ones in the show quite useless nowadays, they seem to drag the watchers' attention away from everything else that's happening. Hasn't really bothered me, but I imagine it may be different for other viewers. Not that I mind nudity in general, though.

  • My guess is that they tried and it looked awful. This game is the worst looking Telltale game in a very long time. I'm struggling to think of a Telltale game since their really early stuff that looks worse.

Because you're absolutely right that the game should have some nudity. The show's full of it, the game is impossible to follow without having watched the show, and they even had a sex scene. A technical explanation is the only thing that makes any sense whatsoever.

  • It would be entirely unnecessary within the context of the story. What purpose would it serve? If you're so desperate to see some nudity, there's a wealth of pornography on the web. Go crazy. Just don't try to force it into games where it adds nothing to the story.

  • Great story about political intrigue and war with realistic consequences for everybody's actions, even the heroes, all in a fantasy setting with very little but mysterious magic.

Known by the nude scenes in the show.

  • Or, y'know, maybe there was simply no need for nudity in the game.
