No.
You can almost smell the death on the famous VA characters.
Carver=Michael Madsen=very famous=very expensive=fast death
Luke=Sc… moreott Porter=rather famous=rather expensive=gone for long time periods, because the character was important
EDIT: Also, Telltale's 'usual' VAs have done a great job aswell. Gavin Hammon in Episode 5=A-Class VA.
Doesn't need a Brad Pitt just for the 'Oh, it's Brad Pitt!' effect.
And the following 'Aaaand he's dead' effect.
I know.
The money they would probably have to pay him, to add his voice to TWD would be astronomical.
Someone like Scot Wilson would be more realistic.
That's not to imply that Scot Wilson's acting ability is inferior to Brad's.
On the contrary, Scot Wilson is an outstanding actor, and added a lot to the show; with his portrayal as Hershel Greene.
And who would also add a lot to the videogame.
Yeah, I know. But nowadays for some companies, it cost millions just to develop a game. Even big companies like Bioware and Square-Enix have a hard time managing their resources to make good quality games (for some people, people think Square-Enix no longer makes good quality games) whether it's developing certain mechanics and features, programming and coding, writing the stories, lore and NPCs, hiring voice talents, the soundtrack for the game, etc., which could heavily benefit or hamper one another depending on how much time and money the companies have put into them, which ends up affecting the quality of the final project in the long run.
As long as the voice acting is good, I don't really care who is doing it. I just want VA who can give me the chills and make the characters feel more... Humans.
Although, I must admit, the majority of the celeb VA did a REALLY good job. Not tgat less popular ones did a crappy one, Telltales generally has pretty good voice acting. It's just that I was really impressed by them, for example that scene in the middle of EP5... That I'm trying not to spoil for those who haven't played it yet... Anyways, you know what I'm talking about. The voice acting skills were incredibly good. The way his tells you to go stay back with a flickering voice... Oh man, that was fantastic.
But like I said, less popular VA are really good too (Nick, Sarah ;-;).
Hearing the celebs is distracting. Instead of enjoying the game I keep hearing Patton Oswald. This game would be so much more fun if I enjoy the character's dialogue.
Tales had the best voice acting of any series they have done. They spent money to get the best in the business and it showed. I think this is an area where they should be spending their bigger budgets. Spending it on film celebrities just to have their name associated with the game is a waste, especially when you can only see them when you hear their voice.

good voice actors famous or not are good for the game, however if they are in some way a detriment to the game (scheduling issues, high expense meaning low amount of recoding can be done, etc.) then they are bad and aren't worth the celebrity bonus to buzz the game may get.

Like they'd get Brad Pitt.

Maybe if he said two lines and then gets shot in the head.
Would probably cost twice as much as Scott Porter's entire performance.

Actually, RDJ would has a great voice, a very distinctive voice, and I think he would do wonderfully, as a character in TWD.
Yeah. I want an old wise guy voiced by Morgan Freeman.

Doesn't really matter to me. As long as the voice acting isn't bad.

No. It's a waste of money and they could spend money in areas more productive

This. Telltale isn't a triple A studio and celebrities aren't necessary and could be a distraction or just added for shock value.

I thought you were wondering if we wanted more Caleb voice acting. I came to this thread wondering who Caleb was.
...I need help.
I read this comment, really really really confused what you were talking about. I was like "What?".
That's pretty much how confused I was.
Yay!!
Yay.
Very yay.
