What If Baby AJ Really Did Die

So I'm curious, how do you think the story would go along if baby AJ died?. I would think that Clem would think that she wouldn't go with which ever character that survived the ending fight in episode 5 without a choice at all, also it would double the hatred towards Jane at the end of the season. What do you guy's think?

  • I disagree about the hatred towards Jane ; if Clem knew that it was an accident , she wouldn't have blamed Jane. But Jane hiding the baby and letting Kenny and Clem think he'd died was another thing altogether.

  • happiness.

  • tbh i already feel like he's dead because he's just a prop file and not even a model.....he doesn't even have movements i think......

  • I hate myself for saying this because I really do like AJ. But I think it might have worked for the plot a bit better if AJ had died in that last scene. It would make the final fight between Kenny and Jane more organic and there wouldn't be all this fuss about people who want the baby dead. I'm assuming there'll be some sort of choice in Season 3 for you guys, but for the moment if they can't kill AJ in a way like that where it would have made a lot of sense, and might have made the story better, they won't be just killing him for no reason other than a vocal minority of the forums hate him.

  • When the season first began I thought he would be stillborn. I would've preferred if he died, as terrible as that sounds. After he was born, he just became a plot device. That's why most people dislike him here. I don't hate him, but him dying could've made the story darker. Which is what this season lacked.

  • Agreeing with you leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

  • This is a drama, not a comedy of errors! :P

  • It sounds terrible. I know. But what exactly did they expect to do with him?

  • I don't know. It seems like too much to carry on the shoulders of the plot. If anything, if they were going to have AJ live, they should have had Rebecca's birthing scene at the end of episode 5, carrying AJ into Season 3 a few years older without the trouble of having to worry about how the plot found formula. Of course, Rebecca's death was loaded with emotion, but that doesn't mean it could have happened right at the end of Episode 5, dying during childbirth right after holding her child.

  • Agreed. When All That Remains was released, I looked through the slides and always thought that AJ would be stillborn, and we had the option to help Rebecca leave Howe's or leave her there. Then if we saved her, she would die at some point during Amid The Ruins of No Going Back. I was quite surprised that they kept AJ alive.

  • Yeah... He seems like too much of a burden to let them have creative freedom with the rest of the story in Season 3. Less so if he's at least two years old. We'll see how they handle it I suppose.
