Agreed, Sure a kiss is fine but for me it should be a form of pay off after a climax, but even if they never kiss I'd be totally fine with it as long as the story is effective and be able to portray the character's attraction to one another well enough.
In my Rhyiona stories, I usually never have Rhys and Fiona kiss, unless it is in a dream. I just find other ways of displaying love and affection more attractive.
