Who do you think the protagonist will be in Season 3?
With the inevitable release (and the long, painful wait) of S3, who do you think we will be controlling this time around and why? Who would you like to play as and why?
I personally think we will still play as Clementine since, unlike Lee, her story hasn't really been concluded as of yet. I doubt it will be Jane or Kenny because depending on who you saved in S2 you would play as in S3 and that would most likely make the game FAR too difficult to create as they would have so much content to juggle around since they would basically be creating two different games. I also highly doubt that you will play as another random survivor as that would pretty much make our S2 choices useless.
I would still like to play as Clementine because 1) She's one of my favorite characters along with Kenny and Lee, and 2) The world feels a bit more threatening when you're just a little girl and not a fully grown adult.
What about you guys? Whose story would you want to experience in S3?

I still want Clementine for many of the same reasons you had just listed. She's my favorite fictional character ever, and unlike others, I grew more attached to her character by the end of Season 2 and enjoyed playing as her. Also, it's a very interesting perspective, being in a zombie apocalypse through the eyes of a child, and that's something I thought Season 2 did great in was that it showed how Clementine, despite how young she is, has been able to survive in this world and still maintain her humanity. People complain about how she had to do a lot, but many of the activities she did were because she was the only one capable of doing so (exception being the wind turbine, that was fucking dumb for a multitude of reasons). So my answer would be Clementine, but I will still play the game if they decide to either not include her or put her back as a deuteragonist, but I would personally prefer her to be the PC again.
Damn, I forgot about Christa. I dunno, though. She doesn't seem MC material to me...
I still want to play as Clementine in S3 and I think you will. Obviously you couldn't play as Lee in S2 because he died and his story is finished but I don't see why you couldn't play as Clementine again because her story has barely began in my opinion.

I guess playing as Christa wouldn't be the end of the world. She's a bit of a question mark in the franchise we didn't see much of her in S2 and in S1 she wasn't really a big character. Though basing an entire season on her I feel is just a bit too much though due to the fact she isn't really a main character and I feel she isn't that interesting
Ironic considering that the Clementine in Season 2 feels more like a blank slate than she did in Season 1, but that's more or less because she was a major supporting character and not a protagonist.
And yes, Christa would have been my pick for the next protagonist. She's an adult, she doesn't have much in the way of a backstory, and her characterization is more flexible than the likes of Kenny, Lilly, or S1 Clementine.
I don't really have much hope for Christa returning, unfortunately. I'd have liked her to come back in Season 3.
I'd like a new character! I think it would be better to start with a new cast on their own and then have it tie into Clementine's story like halfway through the season. But that's just me!
Yeah, we'll have to start anew at some point, but if we did that in S3 that would make all of our S2 choices worth nothing since they would have no impact on the new group, and that wouldn't feel as immersive.
I heard a rumor that her fate is going to be unknown forever, so I hear what you say. But I really hope to see her again, she is one of my favorites.
New character or Christa, no doubt! I prefer Clementine as NPC. But if Clementine appears to be playable anyway, I won't mind.
I like sassy Clem, but I guess having her as an NPC would be acceptable for me.

In addition to S2 choices being worthless. Starting with a new cast would be leaning more towards a spin-offish season. Because the focus will have shifted from the original most important characters from season 1 being Lee and Clementine. I admit I use to feel neutral about the next protagonist, but I see now that it would make puny logic to try to focus on someone never before seen... or someone seen before but not well known and kind of just uninteresting. To try and invest your feelings into a brand new main character from scratch again would be risky and require much more effort from Telltale to cook up. And seeing as how lazy they got with season 2. I doubt a new main character would be their wisest decision.
They failed to even develop the (at the time) new cabin group characters thoroughly of season 2. I had a hard time liking most of them besides Luke and Sarah,.and their only solution was to slaughter each and every one of them before getting to know and feel anything about them,.. Keeping the focus on Clem would be the smartest course of action for the long term narrative despite of a couple player/character limitations in the game. Switching to an unknown adult for no reason would be a risky move I believe, at least some complaints about Clementine could maybe be amended first.
The only reason a new PC was called for was because Lee had passed on the survivor mantle to Clementine which works wonderfully. Even though at times I kind of believe maybe they should had saved the season 1 finale as the season 2 finale. and then the impact of Lee and Clem departing could maybe had been all that much more powerful. Switching main characters now would be for no reason other than merely wishing to have the variety as in a fighting game or racing game or ice cream flavors so to speak to keep from feeling bored.

Though I THINK that the other possibilities of MC include AJ , Jane , or that little boy who showed up with his parents at the end of S2. (I think he has a crush on Clem.)

It's a really hard question. I mean, whatever ending you choose as Clementine, it could be the end for her story arch in the game series. Somebody suggested Christa and that would be interesting. It is a really hard question. I mean Telltale did say season 2 choices will carry onto season 3, so how would the choices carry if you have a different main character? Maybe it will just be that playing as Clementine as an adult.

I'd love to play as anyone who isn't Clementine (because it's really limiting, and when Telltale tries to exceed those limits, it seems unrealistic) or a grown man (since we've already played as one). Honestly, a teenager is really appealing to me and I guess some of the fanbase considering mostly teenagers play this game from what I've seen. Or even a grown woman.
I wouldn't mind if it was a character we knew or a new character. I'd also like Clementine to be in the game as an NPC.
EDIT: Oh wow, I just got an idea from reading some of these comments. So if Season 2 choices carry to Season 3, then maybe the ending you get determines what character you play as.
For example:
Any Jane ending - protagonist 1.
Any Kenny ending - protagonist 2.
Alone ending - protagonist 3.
Since Telltale is quite linear with their stories, maybe they would be just starting characters which take Clementine to a bigger group, where we meet our final protagonist and play as them. But I don't know, just an idea.

I think all of this decision will go to the one,same way, to the same place. Kenny or Jane will probably die, but this is my vision.
I think it's going to be Clementine, but I don't want it to be Clementine.
Clem's the only non-determinant survivor (from the main group) so she's most likely. And I doubt people would play as Mike or Arvo if they went down that route

Jane Kenny or clem depending on your choices shoot kenny (I hate this choice) play as Jane in s3 look away (I love this choice) play as Kenny in s3
Now for clem there's two there's if you go alone you play clem if you choose to keep Kenny alive you go to Wellington and than he tells you it's safe and you should go here if you choose to go to Wellington than you play as clem and start off in Wellington and maybe see the people who went with you in 400 days and maybe Molly and christia
